  1. Were you my coach growing up?😉 I started out with the number 22 when I played running back, and then switched to 16 to play quarterback, I agree the perfect numbers!
  2. So weird. Dude spent like 5 years as mostly a PR player and when he’s finally about to get his chance he retires.
  3. Considering they’re making everyone the top paid at their position that’s a little rich. Only in their wildest dreams could they imagine getting Schoen for 230
  4. It’s funny that some people think you’re just going to be able to find some cheap American that’s going to get even close to the production of Brady. 2000 yard seasons have only happened a handful of times in the history of the CFL.
  5. Agreed. He most certainly took a small discount. He had one of the greatest rushing seasons in CFL history, he’s still in his prime, and is Canadian to boot. We are a privileged fan base for sure.
  6. Agreed. Guy is a home town hero he can make up that lost money on marketing alone and then some.
  7. Awesome! Let’s be honest losing the MOP who is just coming into his prime would have been a big blow. I know we wanted to try and justify saving money at that position so that we can fill some holes but ultimately Brady was our anchor on the offense this year.
  8. I’m very appreciate for Walters ability to keep players here and field a dominant roster from 2019-2023 seeing what’s happening with Toronto and even B.C to a smaller extent makes me realize what a tough job it must have been for him.
  9. A blessing in disguise. Any team signing him to a big deal will be disappointed.
  10. Has anyone considered the possibility of a Tim White Jr? Guy has been an absolute super star with a sub par passing game. If someone wants to give Schoen Eugene Lewis money do you think we could go after him?
  11. As long as it’s in a back up role I’m fine with it, he’s a good rotational piece. The problem was trotting him out as a starter all season long.
  12. Mike Miller was making 95 k last year, moving on from Jeffcoat saves us between 165-185, Winston Rose/Brandon Alexander are both around 100 grand each. Lots of money freed up. I think the Bombers were happy with a lot of their young guys stepping up in the secondary so that’s a lot of money for those four guys alone. Plus some of the restructuring from guys like Demski, etc there should be plenty of money available.
  13. I never realized that’s what he looked like. It all makes perfect sense now. One of those angry nerds with a chip on his shoulder.
  14. Our first date was the 50-14 thrashing of the B.C. Lions! One of the funnest football games I’ve ever been too and probably one of the best first dates too!
  15. My girl friend had a pair of season tickets, and we started dating in July and she took me to every single game and refused to take payment so I planned on getting her a jersey as a thank you. Schoen is her favourite player so waiting until he signs a three year deal with us to bite the bullet 😉
  16. Wasn’t he pretty good last season? He’s actually gotten better and better every season as well..
  17. Good deal for Dru. Nothing but respect for him. Whether it was coming in and driving the Bombers for a game winning drive against Ottawa or coming from behind and beating Edmonton, I will always have fond memories of his play here in Winnipeg. The kid always to me had a pro ready arm. He could make those cross field throws with ease but this year I noticed the game started to slow down for him and his decision making really improved. Sad to see him go but not expected. He’s earned the opportunity to be a starter in the league.
  18. Great point, how often do we cut guys before bonuses are due? Almost never. Loyalty is a two way street and its reasons like that why guys are willing to take a little less to build the best team possible.
  19. Best cover DB in the CFL as far as I’m concerned! Glad to have him for two more years.
  20. I’m a huge Bomber Homer but I don’t understand why it’s not in Montreal. They deserve that privilege.
  21. Retaining Walters was single handedly the most important move of the of season.
  22. I don’t want to hear the D word. I think that’s part of the problem. I can appreciate the accomplishments for sure but that’s now two years in a row we lost as heavy favourites in similar fashion by getting punched in the teeth and out worked by a team that wanted it more.
  23. I would be okay moving on from a large portion of these players, and re tool. Being stuck with a roster that hasn’t been good enough to get the job done for the past two years and is only going to get older and rake up a larger portion of the cap to me is the wrong move. We still have a talented enough core to build around but we need to bring in some fresh blood. It was nice a lot of guys have taken discounts to try and get the job done with this current group of players but it’s time to retool on the fly.
