  1. @RickRalphTSN: #NHLJets prospect Ehlers sees his season end. Hlfx beaten in game 7 vs Moncton. 31 pts in 13 playoff games. 100 in 51 during reg. season
  2. I think that's the point. The actors looks good though so it might not be too much of a stretch.
  3. Lucas tried to make it a love story but he's such a bad writer. Anakin falls for no real reason. And the plot relies on everyone being stupid.
  4. That's a good point. It's funny that actual dinosaurs aren't exciting or dangerous enough. They have to build a super dinosaur.
  5. I guess teemu wasnt a rookie either. They should take back his records. ;-)
  6. Lets not get crazy. Ehlers is still going to just be a rookie. If he comes in and scores 15 goals, I think that has to be considered a phenomenal start. Enstrom is not only very talented, he's our best LHD by far,.
  7. I was down on Ladd but we really have to wait to see what his injury is. if it's serious, then it makes his performance last night more heroic. If he's that hurt, Im more concerned with the player management of the coaching staff who should have had Perrault or Stafford in that spot.
  8. Ill defer to you as I dont remember. i thought when they were stranded on the highway (I think that was Season 2, before they got to the farm) that they saw a fighter Jet.
  9. Fuller House could be good. You make a strong point though that the audience that remembers it wont like it anymore (probably) so they need to reach a new young audience. But being on Netflix, maybe they could make it R-rated. I know, never happen. But that would be friggen priceless. Bob Saget could just be himself. The middle daughter could be a sex addict. Etc. Fear The Walking Dead begins this summer. Im intrigued but I dislike the idea that we wont learn more about the virus. I do want to see how the world fell apart though and see if they can explain that logically. In Walking Dead I always thought there had to be some command and control remaining. Didnt an fighter Jet fly over in Season 2? And I never understood why they werent wanting to go to Washington in the first place. If there is command and control, thats a good place to start. If not, well, go break into the White House because there will be food, water, protection, weapons, etc there. Sons or Anarchy was good. Not great. Not Sopranos-level goodness, but good.
  10. Netflix, the world’s leading Internet TV network, has ordered a 13-episode season of a new multi-camera comedy from Warner Horizon Television, Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions. Fuller House is the long-awaited sequel to the iconic hit series Full House. Created by original Full House creator Jeff Franklin, Fuller House will premiere exclusively across all Netflix territories in 2016. Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber are set to star in Fuller House, with fellow Full House star John Stamos set to produce and reprise his original role of Uncle Jesse as a guest star in the new show. Discussions with Full House stars Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin regarding guest appearances in Fuller House are ongoing. In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Cameron-Bure) pregnant and recently widowed, living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s two boys — the rebellious 12-year-old J.D. and neurotic 7-year-old Max — and her soon-to-arrive baby. Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content for Netflix said: “As big fans of the original Full House, we are thrilled to be able to introduce Fuller House’s new narrative to existing fans worldwide, who grew up on the original, as well as a new generation of global viewers that have grown up with the Tanners in syndication.” In a joint statement, executive producers Robert L. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin said: “The continued support of Full House fans of all ages for the last 28 years has been astounding. It is an honor and a thrill to catch up with these beloved characters and explore their lives today. The love you saw on the show was real. The cast has remained a loving family off screen all these years. We are as excited as our fans to finally bring Full House back to life.” Fuller House is from Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television for Netflix. Robert L. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin are the executive producers of the series, which was created by Franklin. John Stamos is a producer.
  11. I dont think so. I think it keeps the original films continuity. But Hammond is dead and the corporation that owns his research went ahead and opened the park. I read it described as Hammond's dream is fully realised where Jurassic Park is Disney-esque park but attendance is waning and thats when they decide to amp things up....and things go wrong.
  12. I must have missed when Chairot was scratched at the start of the playoffs. That certainly indicated that Maurice agreed with you. He was a rookie who started the playoffs when the Jets had veteran options. Chairot is good.
  13. I think you're projecting. Im 99% talking facts and logic. You're the one who made it about me. "stop with the Buff BS" is a wasted post. If you disagree, dont be emotional about it. Im not.
  14. Missed assignments. I wished I had PVR'ed the game but on first look it seemed like Enstrom lost his assignment when Kesler scored that tying goal. Defensive coverage was also pretty brutal on the Ducks goal where Byfuglien clocked Perry. Two defenders behind Pardy who was near the circle and he had no clue about it. Is that the one where Pardy was knocked on his butt? He seemed somewhat dazed and never got back into position after the big hit. Buff's miss was brutal. He was thinking about moving up ice, I think. He knew it too obviously, with the shot to the Ducks' player after goal.
  15. Wanted to add, it wouldnt surprise me if the team had to take one step back next season, to take two forward. Such a tough division. Need a lot of points to make the playoffs. If the team moves on from guys like Buff and Ladd, there might be some growing pains for the kids. I thought Scheif was great in Game One (despite the penalty) but has been ground out and checked out in the last couple. It's a learning experience for him though. I think back to the Pens who were a good team in 2007 that lost in the first round to the Sens. They took that experience and went to the Cup finals the next year and lost, took that experience the following year to the finals and won. Wayne Gretzky tells the story of the young Oilers losing their first final and never wanting to feel that way again and needing to learn how to win. Not comparing the Jets to those teams. But the point is the same. The Jets have played a very good Ducks team (a Cup-calibre Ducks team) to close games. there is a reason that the Ducks set a league record for coming back from consecutive games losing into the third, coming back to win...because the Jets were up. It says alot about how close they are. The Jets are a good young team. For me, my disappointment is in thinking that this might be a possiblity given the youth but thinking our experienced vets who had been there before like Ladd, Buff would lead the way and that's the disappointment. Ladd is hurt. We will find out eventually how bad. If he's very hurt, his performance last night was pretty heroic. You dont want to trade your Captain.
  16. Exactly what I've been saying. Buff isnt the stuff anymore. Its possible the decline we expected for a player of his size, age, fitness level is happening sooner than expected. The good news is, 29 other teams are out there and several of them will think it's just that Buff didnt want to play for Winnipeg and will lead those teams to the promised land. Maybe he will. Let's find out. Maurice likes Tlusty and I'd be fine with him as a fourth liner who can play up in emergencies but I think he will get better offers. They really have no choice but to make room for Ehlers as I cannot imagine him having to go back and play another year of junior. But you never know.
  17. It is because he's a rookie, absolutely. If he isnt as good as people think (what people, Maurice who had him playing top D minutes for ages?) its because there is a learning curve for rookies. If they dont significantly upgrade the Left D, he's as good as starting next season, the only caveat that one of Chairot, Stu, Morrissey wont be. You're right about Buff. And that's the problem. He wants to be play D but doesnt play it well enough to be an elite D man on a consistent basis. It's time to move on from him. We waited for Kane to grow up and reach his potential and had to move on. Time to move on.
  18. The money ask is so different that you could have both. I think re-signing Stemp is an easy Yes. For me, I dont think Frolik has shown to be as desperately needed as we thought he was as the season wore on. I think he's probably right around where the Jets graded him a year ago. Maybe he gets a few more bucks because, to be fair, he has been asked to play top line minutes. But the jets should not over-pay just to avoid losing a really good 3rd liner. The issue I see is, if they lose both Frolik and Stafford, it does leave holes. Yes we have Ehlers coming in but he's a rookie. If we can only keep one, I'd keep Stafford to be honest. And look to the AHL or free agency for middle six help. Stafford naturally plays RW even though he's playing LW right now. He can play either. But if next season your top LW are Ladd, Perrault, Ehlers and your top RW are Wheeler, Stafford, ??? (Stemp?), it's not awful.
  19. Oh I dont disagree. I meant the Oilers wouldnt even ask. The Jets wouldnt bite at all. They love Enstrom and I think he's a fantastic player. But I think our Left Side D has been exposed this series. I was wrong about Stu. I thought he'd prove everyone wrong but he's struggled. He plays his heart out but the top end talent isnt there. Pardy has been good though, maybe to a surprising level. Its a shame Chairot lost his spot because he wasnt playing badly. He's a rookie though. I do wonder if Chevy will be looking for more size on the left side. The easy answer is moving Buff there but if it was easy, they would have done it by now.
  20. Not really. Selective Perception is a thing. It impacts people. Stemp has played better than Frolik. To be fair, Frolik is being asked to do more than his talent would generally allow. He's a very good 3rd line player on a good team. We're using him on the top line and doing so for chemistry reasons. You think when Chevy talks to Frolik's agent, his play in the post season wont be a factor? Ofcourse it will. You dont think management put up with Buff's up & down game because they felt his high end play and his ability to take over games was worth it? You dont think they (especially Chevy who was there) dont remember his playoff performance for Chicago? And you dont think his play so far in the playoffs is making Chevy wonder? If they trade Buff at the draft, Im completely okay with that now. He's not the player he was. His high level is something special but he's far too inconsistent. Given everything else and his play now, what would be the point in signing him to a big money, long term deal? No one thing dictates the big picture. But everything matters. It's the totality of things.
  21. I was thinking this too. Im not sure, though, that Buff is the kind of D man the Oilers want. He'd help them now, he'd help them offensively, he'd throw his body around but by the time the Oilers are serious contenders, he'd be on the downside. And I'd question whether he'd even sign there next summer. Enstrom would be more their liking if its a vet but they'd want Myers or Morrissey. (Trouba is untouchable).
  22. Im not really here to see blind faith posts. I can appreciate that sentiment. But I like the higher level analysis that is usually found around here. I love the Jets. I want them to win four straight as much as anyone. Im even superstitious (I have a two sided Jets poker marker that I flip everytime they lose a few in a row). But realistically, this isnt about winning a series anymore. It's about winning one game. And if they do, it's about winning one game in Anaheim. And if they do, it's about winning the last home game. And if they do...then anything can happen.
  23. I'm disappointed they didn't include Sam Niell who's great in everything he's in.
  24. Buff has only one year left. But he's the type of player that better teams might think is the missing piece of the championship pie. We'd get a good package back. I wouldn't wait for the deadline though. Draft. Trade him. We've been on the roller coaster for years. It's time to get off.
  25. Considering only Jim Slater remains from those thrashers team you'd think that issue doesn't weigh on them. But is there pressure to win when the franchise history is so miserable?
