  1. What was I wrong about? You kept mentioning Myers cap hit but as pointed out to you he he a unique contract with a very helpful diminishing cash value. You didn't know that. I wasn't the only one to point that out to you. And you don't seem to put value on it. Then again you don't seem to put value on talent either so it's a rather moot point. Tyler Myers is the type of player with the type of contract you don't look to trade. You're fully entitled to a different opinion but you'd be soundly in the minority.
  2. Are you familiar with Del Rio's shoot fighting experience and are just dismissive of it. Or are you not aware he was a solid amateur and a somewhat average MMA fighter? He's no world beater that's for sure but he is legitimately skilled which was my point.
  3. I was more referring to He earned a place on the Mexico national team in Greco-Roman wrestling and while competing on the national team obtained several accomplishments.[21] In 1997, he placed third at the World Junior Championships, in the Czech Republic.[21] He also won the Central American and Caribbean Games in his weight division three times and won a medal at the Pan American Games. Rodríguez was on track to compete at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, but due to a lack of funding and support, Mexico did not send a wrestling team that year.[5] He also has a record of 9-5 in MMA. So while not amazing he is still an accomplished amateur wrestler and professional mixed martial artist. He had several offers to do MMA in the past year.
  4. Better research but you're still wrong. I can appreciate of you just don't like Myers for some reason. But he and Trouba are here for the long haul.
  5. Well I hope they dont chant anything offensive like "Rapist, Rapist". "No means No" would get a chuckle.
  6. Gino Reda ✔ @GinoRedaTSN Major decline in fights!! '04-1 fight every 2 gms or less, now? 1 every 4 gms. Like? or Hate the trend? @TSN_Sports Someone commented that Thorburn doesnt really fight anymore and I was going to say it doesnt seem like Peluso does either. Good trend regardless.
  7. I've been in high-stress situations several times, including shots fired. And people do act very differently across a wide spectrum. because of my experience it has become instinctive for me to react and I've done so in situations that I was not involved and/or was not my work. I remember a Mall security guard being jumped by about 10 guys in a packed food court. No one moved...except me and the guard! lol Even of Harper wanted to fight the guy, he should have been physically removed. I've seen a few Presidents and VP's over the years joke about the one thing they have no say in - when the Secret Service come get you, you're going whether you like it or not.
  8. So nevermind Boudreau-Watch, seen some chatter online for the firing of Pens head coach Mike Johnston. Belief seems to be he is trying to get the team to play a style not suited to the make up of the team. Crosby has only scored points in one game this season (I believe).
  9. He supposedly was secured in some sort of small room, thus a "closet". Here's the thing, he's the PM. If his security detail had been in the room with him, he would have NOT been given a choice as to where he went and how he was secured. Was **** Cheney a coward when the secret service burst into his office, picked him up off the floor and carried him to the bunker during 9/11? Its protocol. Harper even explained that the RCMP goes through several training scenarios with the PM. If I recall, the MP's in the room, some of them were arming themselves with whatever they could and prepared to defend themselves and the PM. As they should. I cant say what Harper would have done if he was an MP and not the PM, but I'd like to think he'd be one of the people preparing to defend the others. Regardless, his responsibility was to ensure his own survival. Was Chretien a coward when his wife fended off an intruder and he ran to the phone to call the cops?
  10. WWE announced their quarterly numbers today. From Wrestling Observer: With the increase in television rights fees and network subscriptions as the key components of their current business, WWE generated $166.2 million in revenue and $10.4 million in profits for the quarter ending 9/30. The numbers compare favorably to the $120.2 million in revenue and $5.9 million in losses for the same quarter last year, but last year was supposed to be a losing year due to the start up of the network. This year was when profits were supposed to turn around big. While they are nowhere near what was being projected and network numbers are well below original projections, the business is solid and contractual increases in television rights fees should lead to no more losing quarters and eventually the strongest profit margins in company history. The growth in television was from $42.2 million in revenue for the quarter to $65.2 million. Some of that is misleading as increased rights fees that are contractual are a solid increasing number, but part of the increase was having a full season of Total Divas and Tough Enough during the quarter. There were only four episodes of Total Divas during the third quarter last year and Tough Enough didn't exist. Plus, Tough Enough ratings weren't good and thus far, there has been no talk of a new season. The other important driver of future growth is the Network segment, which on September 30th had 1.233 million paid subscribers and 73,000 free subscribers. That's up from the 1.15 million at the end of June, but down from the 1.33 million at the end of March. It's pretty clear the network business looks to be big increases in the first quarter of the year due to the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, and trying to hold those increases for the rest of the year. The U.S. Network number was up from 703,000 at the same point last year to 990,000, while international went from 28,000 at the end of the third quarter last year when it was in limited markets, to 243,000 this year.
  11. Myers is. Do some research.
  12. Good to see after all that a loony tune can still walk into Parliament and start shooting people. All I know is it's likely Harper's fault...................... It's not Harpers fault, he was hiding in a closet the whole time! See?
  13. Good to see after all that a loony tune can still walk into Parliament and start shooting people. All I know is it's likely Harper's fault...................... The most important take away from that event for the Anti-Harper crowd was that he was a coward who hid from the violent gunmen bent on killing him.
  14. This team is not in the position to trade two of their top 4 D. Myers contract makes him too valuable.
  15. In totally different news: @winnipegsun: Taylor Swift files countersuit against radio DJ accused of groping her backstage https://t.co/RxoGNx1V5S Good for her.
  16. I think there is a thread with a long debate about this. But a white person wanting it changed doesnt speak for all white people, First Nations people not wanting it changed dont speak for all Aboriginals. Its a racial slur. And it's silly that its still even debated.
  17. Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are the New Day. And they are "whacky". They were a babyface team with a terrible gimmick that got over once they turned heel. The unicorns thing is because Unicorns are rare and magical like they are. But the real story is, someone in that group is a fan of Chikara wrestling because apparently its a direct rip off of someone there.
  18. That's true Rich but part of the process is personality which is one of the reasons the interview is important. As I said, I've excelled beyond some people in my place of business because of certain skills even though others might have a more profound knowledge base. And in some cases, people are ahead of me who lack my skills but are so much better in other areas. The fact this guy is bringing a lawsuit makes me question if perhaps he was not a fit personality-wise. I also understand the idea that some minority groups need to play catch-up. Its 2015 and women are still behind in corporate positions and pay. There are some reasons behind some of it (women taking time from work for family reasons) but there is likely a bias built in to the general populace to hire and reward people that look, act, talk like the one doing the hiring.
  19. @CTVNews: Manitoba hockey team asked to change 'derogatory' Redskins name https://t.co/uazRLSpCWOhttps://t.co/W6gZ1p79RK Just a reminder, it's 2015.
  20. Myers had a bad game against LA. But if you're looking at stats his -4 included two empty netters. The totality of a players skill level is not determined by his one worst game or one best game. And Myers is a good player who plays lots of minutes. And when you factor in his age, size and contract, I guarantee that if he was a Free Agent tomorrow, 29 teams would put in an offer.
  21. Luke Harper, who came from Ring of Honor is very good. But he doesnt generally have to be very good in WWE because he's big and he's standing next to below average Eric Rowan and horrendous Braun Strowman. Remember, they tried to do everything to bury Daniel freakin Bryan because "he doesnt look like a star" but they are protecting Strowman like he's the second coming of Hulk Hogan. Vince and his goofball politics.
  22. I think Fraser is correct (or the study he mentioned). I would agree "its out there" but think of it this way. Would you give up every other advantage of being a white male in North America you've experienced over your life time in exchange for that one instance where a hiring party decided they wanted more diversity and chose a minority over you? If 98% of the time the "white guy" gets the job but 2% of the time they go with a minority because its an internal program to do so, is the white guy really disadvantaged? I've worked at a few call centres in my life and it always amazed me, not the diversity of the workforce, but that they'd hire people that have a very difficult time with English. I've wondered why thats the case. Is it the immense turnover in that industry?
  23. Here's a bit of a shocker. Del Rio's deal to return was $1.45m per year downside guarantee. Plus reduced schedule. So even though his paring with zeb is goofy he will be pushed hard at that price. Given his MMA credentials I wonder if they are thinking Brock vs Del Rio at WM...
  24. They've all struggled at times. But I wonder if we're seeing more then there is due to a decision on playing style. I think they will tighten up shortly.
