  1. It's been stated that he's not a fitness type. If so Id be concerned with that certainly. Most of us feel like world beaters when we're 20. Not so much at 30 without some commitment to fitness. And we're not elite athletes.
  2. Thorburn works hard. But his talent level is well below everyone else. Credit to him that he gets a few goals off pure hard work. I like him. If he's on the 4th line. If he's any higher your team has issues.
  3. If it's either or then Trouba all day, everyday.
  4. If he's hurt beyond the deadline you're likely not trading him. Then you have little choice but to resign him or risk losing him for nothing.
  5. If buff is hurt...... That's the disaster waiting to happen.
  6. I think Id make that deal.
  7. McKenzie: Expectation is if #NHLJets were to re-sign Byfuglien, it would take at least a five-year offer at around $7 million a year.
  8. TSN ✔ @TSN_Sports Senators acquire Conor Allen from the Predators for Patrick Mullen. More:
  9. Totally ridiculous. Should have had a super deep, lengthy campaign mode. Even a basic story that just loosely connect the battles like the second version.
  10. lol it was somewhat distracting! Maybe he was really proud of the CGI guys' work on creating a nice dong. Or it was meant to convey that Dr Manhatten didnt care about such things as modesty....yet was self aware enough to cover up when in public, for the sake of the puny humans and their sense of modesty.
  11. Nice! I got Advanced Warfare and Batman Arkham Knight for Christmas. Im not a huge gamer. My go-to games are Grand Theft Auto and NHL. I have a few Call of Duty games because I enjoy the campaigns (way too short though). And the Batman games are pretty good too. I didnt get Battlefront. i heard there was no campaign and unless you want to play online, its pointless. Hopefully they rectify that this year.
  12. Yeah maybe. I didnt read the graphic novel. I think when I saw it cold, I found it sort of like a bad parody. So one day I googled it and read a bit of the background and that made me interested in seeing it again. Plus, I think seeing it, I knew what it was about so my expectations were adjusted. That happened when I saw Boogie Nights and hated it...then saw it again, knowing what it was really about and now its one of my favourite films. I described Watchmen to a friend as "Imagine if the Justice League really existed in our world and everyone knew it and it was no big deal"...and that takes you into the plot of the film. I really enjoy it now. And the sound editing is beyond belief.
  13. When I first saw Watchmen, I didnt get it because I was unfamiliar with the source material. But upon further review and watching it again, I became hooked. Its one of my favourite movies and much of that is Snyder's creative vision. I love the music, action, how it's filmed etc. Very very good. Man of Steel, like you I wanted to love it. I actually saw it immediately after seeing another film in the theatre (which made for a long night) because I wanted to see it so badly and my buddy was indifferent so I made a deal to see a movie he wanted if we also saw MOS the same night. Anyway...probably 2 minutes into it I turned to my buddy and whispered "uh oh". The whole Krypton thing made me realise they were way off the mark. Pa sacrificing himself was idiotic. Clark could have saved him in such a manner that no one would have seen him "revealed". Pa didnt even try to save himself. I mean...it was just stupid. If it was an attempt to redo the Spiderman/Uncle Ben thing, it failed. It was too out there. Not as grounded or emotional or "real" as the Reeves' Superman films using the same characters.
  14. Some have speculated that the contract situation is a distraction for Ladd and/or that he's still somewhat hurt from his injury and surgery. But I wonder, is he playing a bit safer deliberately in an attempt to avoid injury since he's a pending UFA?
  15. Its a joke about Making A Murderer, discussed at length in this thread.
  16. Looking at Snyder's filmography, it's sort of hit and miss. I liked Dawn of the Dead. I VERY much liked Watchmen. While I liked aspects of Man of Steel, i thought it was a generally awful edition of Superman and assumed it had mostly killed the franchise again. Im shocked he was given the keys to the kingdom based on that effort. Didnt like 300.
  17. I believe so.
  18. New Batman v Superman spot: This is a lot better than that full trailer that came out a few weeks back. I think they might have recognized the disappointment with the trailer and are rehabbing expectations a bit. I like the idea of Superman seeing Batman as a law-breaker, perhaps he sees him as misguided (otherwise, why not just take him in to authorities)...so his ordering him to stop being Batman is interesting.
  19. (CNN)Alan Rickman, the British actor who played the brooding Professor Severus Snape in the "Harry Potter" films years after his film debut as the "Die Hard" villain Hans Gruber, has died after a short battle with cancer, a source familiar with his career said Thursday. He was 69. A smooth-voiced London native, Rickman worked on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in UK television projects before earning his first film role: the German terrorist Gruber, opposite Bruce Willis' John McClane, in 1988's "Die Hard." He had been in Hollywood only two days. It ended up being one of film's more memorable villainous roles, but he told The Guardian in 2015 that he almost didn't take it. "What the hell is this? I'm not doing an action movie," he said was his reaction after reading the script. But, he said, the progressive storyline won him over. "Every single black character in that film is positive and highly intelligent," he said. "So, 28 years ago, that's quite revolutionary, and quietly so." Despite wide acclaim as an actor, Rickman never won an Oscar in a career that spanned parts of four decades. He did win a BAFTA Award for supporting actor in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" and was nominated three other times, including for his roles in 1990's "Truly Madly Deeply" and "Sense and Sensibility" in 1995. He won a Golden Globe in 1997 for best actor in the HBO biopic "Rasputin." Rickman is probably best known to younger filmgoers as Snape, the antagonistic and bullying wizard who, in the end, plays a crucial role in the Potter saga. He took the role in 2001's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" without knowing much about the role. "People thought I knew a lot, and I didn't," he said. "When I was asked to do it, there were only three books written." But that changed over the course of the series, he told the Los Angeles Times in 2011. "It was a punctuation mark in my life every year, because I would be doing other things but always come back to that, and I was always aware of my place in the story even as others around me were not," Rickman told the newspaper. His presence was invaluable, "Potter" producer David Heyman told the LA Times. He had a real understanding of the character, and now looking back, you can see there was always more going on there -- a look, an expression, a sentiment — that hint at what is to come," Heyman said. "The shadow that he casts in these films is a huge one, and the emotion he conveys is immeasurable." Rickman fans still have a few more things to look forward to. His film "Eye in the Sky," about drone warfare in Kenya, is set for a March release. He also did voice work for the upcoming "Alice Through the Looking Glass."
  20. One thing people forget when wanting to sign buff is that the jets would surely have the highest paid D in the league. And I just can't see that happening. However I do wonder if they'd trade Toby and keep buff. Counting on Morrissey making the team next year. But let's assume they bring in hamonic.... It's hard to imagine they'd have him, buff, Myers, trouba. And I think they value Myers not only his skill but his Contract if we take the sentimentality out of it it just makes the most sense to trade buff. When Chevy talks about big contracts and aging players that's buff if he resigns here. the only thing I can't figure is why there has been little to no discussion with him. Unless his agent provided a ballpark figure and the jets just decided it wasn't even worth negotiating. But you'd think they'd at least say we'd like to keep you but it would really be at a big discount if you want to be here.
  21. I grew up on Jesse. Greatest ever. Just ignore his WCW work....
  22. Jesse Ventura might have something to say about that!
  23. That's also a good point. Especially if it's a team that will make the playoffs. But it's happened before where a player selfishly refuses to let his team recoup something for him as a rental.
  24. Who does LA give up to get under the cap next season ?
  25. I had an argument just this week with one of my own guys about "losing". Losing is very important within the psychology of a wrestler. It adds vulnerability and depth. Its why winning streaks dont generally work, they are difficult to book from. So Ill reserve judgement until we see the next chapter, if there is one. if anything, this might create a scenario where they have a rematch at RR with more heat. Although I suspect it is to create an "anything can happen" situation on TV especially now that they care about Smackdown again.
