  1. What a depleted roster. Wow.
  2. I think the droids are basically an "in" joke to a degree. Although R2D2 didn't have his memory wiped so he has complete saga knowledge which is sort of a neat idea. 3PO just sort of bumbles his way through the saga. I'm sure there's a Monty Python example when Kenobi meets Luke on ANH he doesn't outnright deny owning R2. He sort of gives a bemused smirk and says I don't recall owning a droid. Ofcourse he didn't own him. Anakin did but he was always around and Ben knew him. One of the few things that end up making sense after the prequels. Another could be the weird moment before Ben gives Luke his dad's saber. 3po asks to shut down. Never did it before or since. i assume it was so Ben and Luke could have a serious discussion without the droid commenting. and ofcourse his memory was wiped anyway.
  3. Speaking of Bourne, I'm looking forward to the new one with Damon. I really enjoyed the first three. Anyone see the Revenant yet? I'm trying to convince the gf to to see it tomorrow...
  4. Edmonton is closer. But new York provides a lot of options for flights. It doesn't really solve his issue of wanting to be home.
  5. That's a theory. Which would explain her ability becoming so strong so fast. That perhaps kylo used the force to try and wipe her memories. In other words he chose not to kill her.....for some reason maybe we should talk spoilers in the Star Wars thread!
  6. Well that was the point right, to get him to strike out in anger and hopefully do something to give in to the dark side. In hindsight, now that we have seen the prequels IT parallels lukes battle with vader. Palpatine was able to get Anakin to strike down Mace.
  7. I think one idea is "balance" nkt referring to 2 Jedi and 2 Sith . But a balance between light and dark. Luke was very different from the dogmatic Jedi, as was Anakin. Anakin had darkness and anger. But the Jedi basically told him to get over it. He destroyed the Jedi and later the Sith. So in that way he brought balance. But luke was a lot like Anakin in that he had anger in him. He put his friends above all else. He rushed in. But unlike Anakin luke was more balanced. And he refused to give in to his hate and anger at a critical time. So one could read it as Luke being the "balance". Or we could forget all about balance since it was a stupid concept anyway.
  8. Rumours if Hamonic to edmonton. Doesn't make much sense. If you have to fly from edmonton for family reasons might has well fly from New York. In fact it's probably easier to fly from New York. Hopefully jets and isles have a plan for Hamonic and decided to wait til the off season. Can't pass up opportunities like him.
  9. On Friday, Arizona traded him to Montreal. Again, the specifics of the deal aren't all that relevant; Jarred Tinordi is a Coyote now, and he's a former first-round pick, so that's ... something. The big takeaway from the trade, according to McKenzie, is that the NHL pulled strings to make it happen, and thus solve The John Scott Problem. The Canadiens assigned him to the AHL, making him ineligible for the ASG.
  10. If you want to see many Sith during the saga it just wouldn't work. Since the saga is the Skywalker story IT would mean the Skywalkers let it happen. They could continue the saga after 9. If the public responds to the new actors and characters. You can always use the droids as the connecting character and certainly hamil is young enough to continue to appear in some form in an obi wan role.
  11. Saw Yoda in his prime. It sucked. Ignore midiclorian. It's terrible. I think the idea is there can be force sensitive people but not everyone trains to be a Jedi or has the proclivity to become a Jedi. Luke was very much like Anakin in many ways. But the one important was was he refused to fight.
  12. One of the defence lawyers for Avery was out of the country but he's back now. And giving fantastic interviews to rolling stone here's one(but there are many) http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/see-making-a-murderer-lawyer-talk-evidence-prosecutors-sour-grapes-20160115
  13. I wouldn't worry about overkill. Unless they are really bad. And I doubt that. Look at how many marvel there are. Not every film will make a billion dollars though. The saga should be the top films but I imagine the anthology will be just fine. question is....do they keep he Skywalker saga going after 9?
  14. Good to know! Am I crazy or did Twitter change things....I used to be able to select copy using Twitter ap on iPhone and it would paste the author of the tweet. Now it only pastes the tweet and not the author
  15. I think it was developed independent of JJ and Cloverfield thoigh and then made to be part of that universe after the fact. Because cloverfield really needs to be expanded. (Sarcasm)
  16. Helle playing another back to back after giving up four speaks volumes about his position on this team. And comig back with a solid performance speaks volumes about his psyche. He's a keeper.
  17. Plus $9 million bonus payment first two years. I assume bonus payments are included in salary, right? So he just gets $9m of $14m up front the first two years?
  18. Weird post above. Sorry. Thing isn't working right. anyway.... the people who undervalue Myers the most are here. He was widely considered a top (or THE top) deadline pluer available. And the talk of flipping him I think was out of town experts who couldn't believe that the jets landed the prize pig last year. every team in the NHL wants a player like Myers.
  19. Actually....both the NHL and Arizona asked Scott to decline his spot in the all star game. He refused. Montreal didn't want him but Arizona insisted he be part of the trade make of it as you will.
  20. Trouba definitely slipped after Bogo was traded. That's apparent. We can speculate as to why. They were best friends. Roommates. Defence partners.
  21. wheeler is the heart and soul of this team. He demanded more of his teammates and they responded. Tells you a lot about his position in the locker room.
  22. What happened to lowry and stafford
  23. I don't recall. If you were GM and your future franchise d man wasn't as committed to fitness as you'd like, you just shrug because he's not 30 yet?
  24. No one with a no trade clause has ever been traded before?
