  1. Somewhat interesting. But not a chance!
  2. That's not true. They have three hours every Monday. You don't oush one guy at a time. There's a lot of leeway between completely buried and pushed on top. But WWE has a problem with that. Their new thing is to do 50-50 booking where everyone loses one, wins one, loses one, wins one. It doesn't get anyone over. Go back to even the 80's. You had hogan on top and whatever heel he was programmed with. You had a secondary face that was usually programmes with the next heel challenger to hogan then you had the IC champion and whomever he was feuding with. Then you had tag teams. And at every level they were always preparing the next challenger so you always had several guys in various stages of push. They rarely do that anymore. It's a conscious decision. And it's bad.
  3. You mean like the TV actor lead in a comedy drama like bruce Willis was in the 80's? Yup. Big action star. That's the gist of our discussion that they should not be casting an action star and trying to capture what made die hard cool and bruce Willis and "new" kind of so called action star
  4. No but he's been gone since the injury angle so the strong speculation is he will make his return at the Rumble. Some are predicting he will actually enter as #31 to "screw" Roman.
  5. Zac Efron wouldnt be bad if he wasnt so darn handsome. Too handsome for this role.
  6. I'd cast someone more known for comedy and try to recapture what made Bruce Willis so awesome in the first place.
  7. The new Die hard is supposed to be ten years before the first film. So look at someone early 20's
  8. My Rumble sleeper pick is Daniel Bryan, only because things seem all too quiet on that front lately. But if he is in the Rumble, he pretty much needs to win it. Or Hunter screws him. But you risk the fans hijacking every show from here to WM if you do that without an immediate payoff. Hunter screws Daniel at Rumble and wins title. Daniel gets title shot at Fast Lane, Roman screws Hunter. WM becomes Hunter vs Roman (no title) and Bryan vs Brock for the title.
  9. How does it take leverage away from Yzerman? It puts all the balls is Y's court. Drouin has zero leverage. He quit on the team. He lowers offers because other teams know the relationship is fractured. He likely decreases the interested teams because of perceived character issues he has. And he's antagonized the Lightening enough that they have zero reason to dress him for the two more games he needs to blow a year off his free agency. This was a terrible strategy by Drouin and Walsh. Compare it to Hamonic when his trade request was leaked. He addressed his team mates, had a presser and agreed to do everything possible to help the process including showing up every game and playing his best and accepting that the islanders would do what was best for them. Drouin might yet be traded and it might work out for him. But he has hurt himself with this strategy. He had 6 goals in, what, 70+ games? He's talented but he hasnt earned anything.
  10. 20 year old kid? He's taking advice of his agent. If he's not, he shouldnt pay the big bucks to him.
  11. The funniest part is, Vince never thought Sting was a top guy and was shocked by the reactions he was getting and the sales figures of his first DVD.
  12. No kidding. its up to Drouin he wants to hire as his agent but Walsh just seems to have mis handled this one completely. And the idea of sitting to avoid injury when a deal is "imminent" doesnt hold water since 1) The Bolts claim they never said a deal was close 2) if Drouin was willing to play for the big club, then what's the difference. The flip side is the people that argue its enslaving people and players should not be drafted but should choose their team.
  13. No one to scold. Hunter dictated use of Sting. Even Scott Hall said it was stupid. He told the story of rehearsing WrestleMania and they were standing there and Hunter is running through the finish and says "sledgehammer, 1...2...3" and Hall said he looked at Hogan and they exchanged surprised expressions. But he said people have to understand, they made the story about WWE vs WCW and Sting was never going to win. Hall even laughed off the fact Sting finally went to WWE after so many years and didnt bother to get a guarantee on match finish at WrestleMania. Which is funny for a variety or reasons but his point is still valid.
  14. I dont disagree. But talent is talent.
  15. To be honest, Im somewhat surprised of the speculation of Styles going right to the main roster. WWE likes everyone to go through "developmental" to just learn the WWE way of wrestling but also their corporate culture. Remember, two years ago, they wouldnt even offer Styles a decent "developmental" deal and now that he's pushing 40, they've seen the error of their ways. NXT is increasing touring a lot and needs good guys. NXT starts becoming a diminishing asset if everyone who is ready to be called up gets called up. The best workers in NXT arent "WWE-guys", they are guy who are great workers. Balor being one. He should be on RAW right now. On the other hand, he'd probably be buried. Look at Tyler Breeze. Now, he's no Finn Balor or AJ Styles or Nakamura. But he's good and hes essentially a homegrown WWE guy who is young, talented and looks good. He's exactly the type of guy that should be pushed not only because he deserves it but because of the message it would send to others going through developmental. But they've buried him. Might as well send him back to NXT. And while it's true guys like Balor put over NXT as the place they want to be and Im sure they love the atmosphere, they ALL want to be on RAW to make money.
  16. They've spent far too much time diminishing the Wyatts. What happened on RAW didnt get them over, it just brought Roman and Brock down. But they are so weak on heels and so weak as far as potential winners for the Rumble, they needed to heat someone up. If they had thought of it before four days ago, they could have done a more organic job of heating them up. I definitely dont see Wyatt main eventing WrestleMania. The idea of them versus the Bullet Club isnt a bad idea as a first feud for the BC but I dont trust Vince to look at the BC and look at the Wyatts and NOT choose the "big" guys to go over. Also, AJ Styles was meant to debut at the Rumble as a surprise. Cats out of the bag now but I would assume he will still be in the rumble and remain on the RAW roster. But the other three are likely headed to NXT first. Austin Aries is rumored to be NXT-bound as well.
  17. Well one of them is playing LHD already. I dont disagree though. it would still give you Buff, Myers, Hamonic on the right side. So realistically another one of them would have to shift left eventually. After they part with Toby. Buff-Hamonic, Trouba-Myers, Morrissey-Chiarot.
  18. If they put the title on Bray they are making a big mistake.
  19. If they had just kept the Die Hard formula it would have worked. Even the idea that its ridiculous for the same thing to happen to the same guy 3 or 4 or 5 times, thats the hook! And keep John as just a regular good cop, not a friggen action star. The one great thing about casting Bruce Willis was that he was known for his comedy roles (Moonlighting). And people were angry, thinking it was a joke. He helped usher in the new era of action starts that were sensitive and "average" as opposed to muscleheads. Whomever they cast as young John, they should look to people with strong comedic timing, not an action star.
  20. I agree. If the Jets dont land Hamonic, its somewhat of a fail. Ofcourse we dont know how contentious the negotiations are for the trade. if the Isles will only accept Trouba then I am fine with Chevy declining. But if Hamonic gets traded somewhere else for a package that seems doable from our perspective, it will be pretty stupid. Not only his talent and decent contract but his character and the fact he's local. All of those things make Hamonic in a Jets jersey a no-brainer.
  21. Old argument. Definitely not a new suggestion and a non-starter since its much too difficult to retrofit many existing arenas to accommodate. Its just a nice way of avoiding actually doing anything constructive to improve scoring. But it's hilarious when people acknowledge the increased size of players as a reason to increase the ice and yet dont want to change the size of the nets. Change the size of the nets. Scoring increases. Easy peasy.
  22. This year, the Lightning sent Drouin to the AHL after 38 games on the roster, which would prevent him from accruing another season of service at the NHL level (40 games). That would keep him under control as a restricted free agent until 2022, not 2021 should he be on the roster for another two games.
  23. Timeline was pretty tight for Star Wars too. They just started principle shooting so its not that tight. But given the success of TFA, it makes sense to keep the same release date and to allow for the anticipation to build up all throughout 2017. Provides a better buffer between Rogue One and Episode VIII. Baywatch could be fun. I was never a fan of the show although I remember watching the pilot (see how old I am?) which was pretty different from the actual series. Rock is a smart guy and he and Effron together should be a lot of fun.
  24. It was the right idea but the wrong execution. It sort of fell victim to what hurt the Star Trek "reboot" in that new creative directors got too focused on the re-boot aspect and ignored the heart of the story/franchise. The best parts of the last Terminator film were seeing them revisit old scenes/ideas. But it was glazed over so much and so quickly. Call it the Back to the Future II effect, but seeing a familar story told from a different perspective was really interesting. TG just used it as a quick hook and moved on. Casting was poor too. Sarah was ok. She should have been more fit though, more akin to Sarah from T2. Kyle Reese was terribly mis-cast. And the idea of making the machines a single bad guy (the Borg Queen'ing of the machines) was a bad idea. It also cut the heart out of the John Connor character to the detriment of the story.
