Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania
The Unknown Poster replied to Goalie's topic in General Discussion
You are correct. I even looked it up to be sure and typed back instead of neck. Interestingly, the injury happened on a powerslam but they sold it as if it was from Hansen's lariat. -

Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania
The Unknown Poster replied to Goalie's topic in General Discussion
The new WWE WrestleMania 32 magazine in the list of the 2016 Hall of Fame class confirmed Jacqueline Moore and Stan Hansen as the final two inductees for this year. Moore had been on the list that had leaked several months back. Hansen was not. Hansen had two runs in WWF, once challenging Bruno Sammartino in 1976, including the match where he broke Sammartino's neck by dropping him on his head on a bodyslam, which inadvertently ended up making his career when the return match saved the Ali vs. Inoki show at Shea Stadium. He also had a run with Bob Backlund as champion. Hansen is generally considered the greatest foreign star in Japan, for his long tenure as a fixture for All Japan Pro Wrestling. Moore was in as the female inductee that they want in every year. This would mean that plans for John Layfield were changed, which had been obvious when they announced he would be helping induct The Godfather. -
NHL To Announce Expansion
The Unknown Poster replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Yeah true. But Quebec has serious deep pockets and could afford the half a billion expansion fee. This would make me wonder about Florida or Carolina though...if the NHL feels like they need to keep a Plan B option available. -
.. Good. She deserves it. Hulk Hogan's lawsuit against Gawker began this week too. If Hogan wins, Gawker could be out of business and Hogan could be very, very rich.

Didnt even notice. They change them every so often. There has been complaints for some time now that the whole "set" and production needs a make over. They have a problem with Dean Ambrose. And that's that I think he's hit his ceiling. They screwed with him for so long that this is as high as he will ever go. Interestingly, after Hunter was *clearly* trying to undermine Roman a couple of weeks ago, they actually changed his cheers to boo's in showing video packages. And Hunter has been trying to be more heelish. I think the idea of working Ambrose is to beat a solid babyface and see if that gets Roman cheered for coming to the aid of his "brother". It wont work. But it's a nice try. -

Its one thing WWE does so poorly now. Their theme songs are all the same. Generic instrumental crap. Give me some Bossman, Mountie etc anyday. Even the instrumental songs back then like Perfect's, Rocks, Austin was way better. No Chance In Hell is still used because it's awesome. Shane's music hit and the crowd went nuts from the opening note. -
U.S. Federal Election
The Unknown Poster replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
You cant govern because some crazies might get mad. If the reason is, gee some people will be angry, thats not good enough. The second endearment is silly. Even those that have a much better understanding of it are afraid to suggest its not what it seems because the constitution is "sacred". There has been changed to the constitution before. The debate that this one amendment is so sacred is just asinine. -

Well I guess then we shouldn't even try. We shouldn't even have a basis for starting the effort to control guns. I mean really. Come on now.... -

Ibe never smoked and haven't been a supporter generally. But this is asinine. No one ever committed mass murder with pot. Besides which pot does have many legitimate uses. -
Raffl out with a back injury. Moose playing pretty well lately.

People don't need to collect assault rifles. Can I have a tank if I'm a collector? A strategic nuclear warhead? Come on. Common sense is obvious here. -

Im not sure your point. I think we are all smart enough to know the difference between a gun collector, hunter and the like. Unless collectors are amassing large quantities of assault rifles, in which case it aint for collecting. The gun lobby has done a good job of freaking people out about big brother coming into their home and taking their only protection. Its all nonsense of course. No one needs an assault rifle for anything. -
U.S. Federal Election

Interestingly, Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump are very close friends. Who would both sides choose as running mates as this point? Trump seems to be on the offensive against everyone so...Palin? I dont see that working out. He'd be wise to choose someone who has been a respected public servant for many years and someone seen as a capable politician. Hilary should pick someone young, with an eye for providing the Democrats with a candidate for 2024. -

U.S. Federal Election

I think generally, Clinton would smoke Trump. I think fence sitters and some republicans will hold their nose and vote Democrat. But Trump could generate "new" voters to try and "block" a "block" if that makes sense. I'd still put my money on Clinton if it comes down to it. Seems like the GOP is turning on Trump. Will he run as an independent if they pass him over? I dont think so...but you never know. -

Very well said. Do you think if it comes down to Trump and Clinton that a lot of "center" Republicans will vote Democrat? -
Really??? Interesting. I guess he blinked first (or his idiot agent). Its a smart move. He needs to repair his reputation and it doesnt hurt to try and stay in gane shape and compete at a high level going into the off-season if he wants to get a solid trade done.

Jets vs Oilers Heritage Classic
The Unknown Poster replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Saw a tweet this morning that Chipman confirmed $600 for a combined Heritage Classic/Alumni game ticket at $600 wasn't "far off". -
The Jets' RFA's after this year.
The Unknown Poster replied to Ducky's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I was 100% predicting Wheeler, but I think Scheif has a shot at it. If he signs a 7-8 year deal, that satisfies the idea of being a long time Captain. He seems to be embracing the #1 center role quite well. If he keeps it up and continues to be a go-to guy for the media, he might make a strong case as Captain. Ofcourse we dont know how he is in the room but he made remarks about learning from Ladd certain ways to relate to team mates (ie. when to be nice, when to give it to a guy etc), so evidently, the things that a Captain does have not been lost on him. -
Thanks for reminding me! Just bought my tickets for March 25th. Hoping to catch Deadpool and London Has Fallen between now and then.
