  1. Kevin Dunn is one of the worst things to ever happen to wrestling. There are actually rumours circulating that he and Hunter/Steph hate one another and there is a bit of a power struggle behind the scenes because he knows he's gone the second Vince steps down.
  2. As Stephanie once admitted, its probably buying them some goodwill somewhere...
  3. Well the Liberal candidate was basically fired I think. And Wab should go for sure. Firstly, he only changed his mind on these topics when he decided he wanted to enter politics. He still plugs and brags about the albums he made so how sorry is he? He was sorry for what he said about women. then when people found remarks about gays he decided he was also sorry about that. I saw he made some remarks about killing a cat. I bet he's sorry about that today too. Also, he demanded Gord Steeves step down over the comments his wife made so if thats the standard he wants to hold politicians too, he pretty much has to quit. He's no friend of the Aboriginal community either, but comments he made in the past. Although I bet he's sorry about it. Realistically, if this guy is too stupid to cleanse his twitter, then I dont want him in office. There should be a common sense test for public office and he doesnt pass it!
  4. If I recall, didnt the first Predator end with a large explosion, teasing that Arnold's character was dead? But not shown, so he could return. I like it. Arnold is pretty cool. He was the best thing about the ill-planned Terminator re-boot.
  5. And the biggest TV in our house was maybe 19 inches. But my parents were very nice about having TV's in our bedrooms. My brother had a 7' B&W and I think i ended up getting a 12" B&W. I parents didnt even buy their first flat screen until just a few years ago and it was only 20-something inches. I finally took them to get a "big screen" TV last year. 42"! wow!
  6. And 6 was french (I think) and 9 was weather that my grandma would watch endlessly. 11 was Community Access (again, if I recall). 13 never worked unless you had a good antenna to pick up Pembina. Eventually it became MTN from Portage (I think). TV was great back then. Basically 3 or 4 American Channels, a couple of Canadian channels and yet we were always happy with what was on. And Movies of the Week were always great, especially if it was a mini series.
  7. Deal off. Next, Skalbania called Peter Pocklington, who agreed to Skalbania's asking price and Gretzky was an Oiler. Just like that, Gobuty lost out on the greatest hockey player ever, and Winnipeg Jets fans are left wondering whether they could have watched one of the league's greatest dynasties develop in Winnipeg instead of Edmonton. I also recall a footnote to this story being that they did play the game. I cant remember if the story went that Gobuty won the first game and lost the next nine or lost the first game and won the next nine. How would history of changed if Wayne was a Jet? Im not sure *that* much differently. Maybe a cup? But the Jets still end up leaving and so does Wayne.
  8. Mario could have. But again, that's unreal talent in the right era and being injury-free which he wasnt. But I always feel Mario was cheated out of a couple of the records. Cheated by his body I mean. Would have been a great story had he got the single season goals or points record.
  9. So when is Wab Kinew going to step down (or be turfed by the NDP)? Im almost impressed he's hung on this long but the NDP really have no shame anyway so it shouldnt be a surprise. Imagine if Wab was non-Aboriginal... he'd be long gone!
  10. I doubt it. Netflix was such a masterful idea and they have so many subs that they dont need commercials to make money. CBS is banking on a new Star Trek TV series to be the cornerstone of of their streaming service, All Access. But All Access also has commercials which is going to really aggravate people.
  11. Definitely. The idea of cutting cable sounds good when you can have Netflix and maybe one other service and get everything you want. But every network and provider is going to have their own streaming service. In the end, it will be just like cable except instead of paying one price for 100 channels, you pay 20 times for 20 streaming services. And since that is "premium" it will cost more. And ofcourse if you want to watch super HD and everything in your home is on the internet, then you're going to pay more for internet access too. Everything is going to be Internet delivered eventually. I attended a work meeting a couple of years ago and I think they said people have an average of 13 connected devices in their home and everyone said no not a chance. But then they began adding up their cell phones, ipads, laptops, desktops, TV's, blu ray players, ipods, etc. And the forecast was for something like 30 connected devices in each home in the next few years. My parents' washing machine is connected. Refrigerators are connected. The door lock. Thermostat. Lights. Everything will be connected.
  12. You're right. We have to try harder. We need strategic ballistic missiles at home. We need suitcase bombs. We need nukes. We need tanks. Only then can we be assured the government wont screw us over. The 2nd amendment says Im allowed to amass a weapon cache to defend myself from the government. So I guess all those weapons are fair game? Wait, it doesnt say that? Ofcourse it doesnt. It also doesnt say you can have an assault rifle either
  13. You're missing the point. Firstly, the amendment was not written with the idea of some guy in 2016 owning an assault rifle. So if he wants to own a musket from the 1700's, go for it. No one is stopping him. If you think the American people and their nutty gun clubs could over throw the government, you're wrong. And its the wrong argument to make anyway. Just look at the election process as it is today and then tell me American's need guns so endure a free society. If American's cared about the spirit of the constitution, they wouldnt fight against gun control. But they use arguments they dont believe in because it's not about the constitution at all. Its about little men and how strong they feel with a gun. And Im not talking about "legitimate" collectors. But legitimate collectors arent the problem. How about sending the registered owner of a gun to jail for 20 years if his gun is used in a crime where someone is seriously injured or killed? Do that and see how many Joe Sunday's decide they need a bunch of guns for "protection". There should be no argument against this if the argument is all "legitimate" gun owners are responsible. If that's the case then they have nothing to worry about. And all the irresponsible gun owners will be in jail. But lets be honest, the gun nuts dont care. They dont care if you die or I die or 100 children die. They'd rather 100 children die then ban the gun that killed them. There is no argument that supports the ease of getting a gun. Not one. Every argument collapses under it's own silliness.
  14. Martha Hart is not a fan, never was a fan and never will be a fan. She holds a lot of bitterness. I dont blame her but I do think she should let it go. She doesnt have to be at the HOF. And they dont need her support. But they dont want her opposition either. She should just let it go. She married into the Hart family of her own free will and with that came certain expectations. Owen's death was tragic and stupid. But it wasn't murder!
  15. The amendment isnt clear. To me its pretty clear that it doesnt mean what most gun nuts want you to think it means. But at worst its not clear. It refers directly to keeping a militia which, at the time, the US didnt have a standing army. The people were the army. There were threats of invasion. Protecting the union and free society was the responsibility of every day people. It isnt anymore. The founding fathers could never have envisioned what was to come and I would suspect they'd be appalled at the gun violence.
  16. Private business. They want profit. if I owned a hot dog stand, I'd want to provide decent hotdogs. But I'd want you to pay as much as possible for them. I get annoyed with providers sometimes too. But the market bears what it bears. Prices will fluctuate due to competition. Churn is a big problem. People jump back and forth trying to take advantage of new customer deals. Thats never felt worth it to me. I've been with the same provider for years and years (although I intend to change when I move later this year). I had Bell once when it was hardwired into a building I lived at. One Christmas, it snowed and we lost TV for a couple of days. Now that aggravated me. We can control a robot on Mars but we cant get me a TV signal when it snows. In Winnipeg. So no Satellite for me.
  17. I didnt realize that Friday was a holiday or I could have got day tickets. Oh well.
  18. Its the land of the naive. People do what they are told. The lobby is strong. But if there was political will to change things, they would change things and all the whining and crying would be heavy until its done and then they'd get over it. Gay marriage is legal now and the world didnt stop and there wasnt a mass exodus of people out of the US. They can change if they want to. The Supreme Court would likely uphold the wrong-minded perception of the 2nd amendment. Obama should get a lefty judge in there and then ram something through that ends up at the Supreme Court and have them approve the measure as constitutional. And it should start with outright ban on assault weapons, longer wait periods, increased vetting for licenses and they should increase consequences for gun crimes, not just for those that use guns but also for the registered owner than allowed the gun to fall into the wrong hands.
  19. Meh. isnt the point to provide X amount of TV to people who cant afford large packages? Mission accomplished. Cable isnt a right.
  20. 1 IC and Tag Team title is better than a lot of guys. Martel will go in for sure. Former World Heavyweight Champion. They want to induct Owen but his wife is very opposed.
  21. Once they inducted other low-mid card guys, it became fair game. Godfather was a memorable gimmick that had longevity so he's in. he was also a very close friend of Undertaker and maintained a good relationship with WWE. All those things qualify him.
