  1. How old are your kids? Apparently the film is 2.5 hours long. Might need a bathroom break half way through!
  2. Not surprising. Once the defence ripped holes in the one accuser, it was over. And that's the right thing as far as the law goes. Reasonable doubt = not guilty. Now whether he actually is guilty is another story. Will be interesting to see how many left wing folks race to embrace him again.
  3. Its rated PG 13, isnt it? I know the R rated Blu Ray release will be extra violent.
  4. Ill tell you by tomorrow night if BvS is great or garbage. Trust me. ;-)
  5. Something else interesting: Fandango has recently run a few surveys leading up to the wide release of BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, and apparently the Lady with the Golden Lasso is why most moviegoers will be seeing the film. Gal Gadot hasn’t been a leading Hollywood actress for long but BVS will be boosting her into the upper stratosphere of movie stardom come Friday. Fandango reports that 88% of ticket buyers were excited to see WONDER WOMAN finally make an appearance on the silver screen. 60% of those polled are also interested to see how Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor, while most people also said they were likely to see the movie more than just once. As far as the age old question of who would beat who in a fight, 59% chose BATMAN, leaving 41% voting for SUPERMAN. Read more at: https://tr.im/pogpx
  6. I have to admit I care very little about the majority of the shows. Seems too much of an undertaking for me to watch them all. I recorded Gotham for several weeks before clearing them off my PVR unwatched. I think because, while I was excited for the series and love Batman, when DC decided the TV shows didnt matter in their universe, it made me not care anymore. I watched Agents of Sheild for a couple of years but it became too much. I watched Daredevil season 1 and enjoyed it. Will probably watch season 2. I like that it operates within the universe. The DC ones all seem silly to me. I actually watched Smallville late in its run and enjoyed because it seemed like the only superhero stuff we were getting so it was THE Superman franchise for awhile. Now its non-canon so I dont care. And I think thats why my initial unhappiness with the BvS film being announced was that it essentially relegates the Dark Knight films to irrelevancy.
  7. Interesting A spokesman for Walt Disney Studios announced today that the company will boycott the upcoming anti-gay legislation in Georgia if the bill is signed into law by the governor. In the announcement, the spokesman said: “Disney and Marvel are inclusive companies, and although we have had great experiences filming in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law,” House Bill 757 would permit faith-based groups and organizations in the state to discriminate based on sexuality. 8. Doesnt seem like any reason for Connor to return to college next season. I expect he signs with the Jets as soon as he's done with his season if that happens before the Jets' season is done. And he wont be playing for the Moose. He has all the leverage and while the team would want to maintain their option to assign players anywhere, there will be an agreement that he plays for the Jets, not the Moose. His agent will see to that. Just like Andrew Copp.
  9. Enstrom would be good for the Pens.
  10. They risk tiring out the fanbase. Good TV is good TV but the more you extend yourself, the more you risk making bad TV and once that happens, you risk tainting the brand. Their relationship with Netflix is smart because the onus is on Netflix to make quality TV (which they seem to be doing), they arent reliant on advertising and their subs and viewership are secret. If they received poor feedback, they could later course without it being a huge blow-up like network TV.
  11. Saw that and assumed it was a gag. But when I read deeper it sounded like just a temporary replacement to finish their tour. Hearing Axl on ACDC songs would be....interesting. But if GNR is reuniting for a concert series later this year, you'd think he's got a lot of work ahead of him. Unless he thinks doing a 10 concert tour with ACDC will help him get ready for his own tour.
  12. I dont know that this is a terrible idea. Although I remember thinking the US should have thumbed their nose at the UN and expanded NATO years ago. The US pays a lot into these organizations. Any "United Nations" that has Russia and China as permanent members of a world security council is a joke. And their choices for some of the human rights committees is bizarre. Sounds like Trump supports a bit of US isolationism. Other Presidents have felt that way too. Its not a position without merit. Both parties will have some decisions to make. If polling shows Trump wont beat Hilary or Sanders but he's got the support over Cruz, what are they to do? They either negotiate a Trump exit which sounds impossible if he feels he has the support, throw their support behind Cruz and risk Trump running independently and fracturing the party (which isnt a terrible idea) or supporting Trump and hoping for the best. On the other hand, I cant see the Democrats not backing Hilary. Even if their polls show Sanders has a better shot against Trump, unless he's ahead of Hilary, the Clinton's are too much a force within the party. They did a lot of campaigning for Obama when it was clear they couldnt stand him. They've done their part for the party and now it's Hilary's time. She will have full support of the party. Here's a question for people: At this early stage, who do you see as potential running mates?
  13. if I recall, his injury was supposed to be well past WrestleMania. They usually dont have guys show up for a one off appearance if they wont be back for months. But with it being WM, you never know. Helping Ambrose isnt a bad idea...although if Seth were to do something significant, I'd think it would be to help Roman (or Hunter for that matter). Regarding Ambrose, they've screwed him up so much but this is their latest (and maybe last) chance to make him a top guy if thats what they want. He needs to beat Brock and do so without help. If they dont see Ambrose as a top guy, then Brock should win. I'd expect Cena to get involved somewhere too. They wont waste him on anything but the top matches (HIAC, Hunter/Roman), so look for him there. Rock is involved too. Guys like Austin and Michaels are going to appear in some way. Originally Hunter/Roman was going to have a guest ref. They asked Batista but he declined. They then asked Michaels. Supposedly Michaels was offered the guest ref spot or a "guest spot" similar to the DX/nWo appearance from last year. Then again, unless they re-hire Billy Gunn for the spot, a DX appearance might look a bit odd. There is supposedly something "important" happening in the New Day vs League of Nations match too. It's 3 vs 4 right now with rumors of Rock involved, which doesnt sound like it makes a lot of sense. But it would fit Rock's MO to be able to verbally and physically neuter several guys at once to the detriment of the company. New Day is also requesting a special entrance...I wont give away what I heard in case they pull it off. Last word was WWE was thinking about. From the description, I have no idea how they'd intend to do it but it sounded neat.
  14. I think they like him very much. Although there were those rumors of him being shopped earlier in the season. Keep in mind hes been hurt since November,
  15. So there is something going on with Daniel Bryan. WWE scheduled several "Daniel Bryan Appreciation Nights" this week including at MSG and have abruptly cancelled them. He has cancelled his appearance at WM Fan Axxess too. Supposedly someone in WWE has told Dave Meltzer that he knows but would "prefer not to say". Retirement regret?
  16. HD The Force Awakens leaks online... Latino Review: Yet even the almighty powers of Disney could not prevent the inevitable high-quality piracy of the film. According to TorrentFreak, the full Blu-Ray rip of the film has leaked onto torrent, hosting, and streaming sites like The Pirate Bay and KickassTorrents. The first copy appeared yesterday, and within 12 hours, has already received over 250,000 downloads--a number that's expected to hit the millions before the Blu-Ray even hits the shelves. Given the high quality of the leak, one has to wonder if this will affect the sales in any way. Of course, that'll be nearly impossible to track, because no matter what, the Blu-Ray is bound to sell gangbusters, and many STAR WARS fans are likely to purchase the film even if they couldn't wait the extra two weeks to watch it from the comforts of their own home. If history has proven anything, it's that STAR WARS fans are completionists, and they'll flock to stores in droves just to get the latest edition of the same film they've purchased several times over. 17. I've read a few reviews that say Eisenberg really nails it. But I dislike him greatly in everything he is in.
  18. I've alwasy liked Affleck and I think he's physically imposing enough to pull it off. Ill admit though, that in the trailers, the shots they've used leave me a little cold. Not entirely sure what it is, but its like Affleck seems to be trying too hard to be dramatic. Maybe it's just the way the trailers are cut. My worry when he was cast that he would be "Ben Affleck" and not "Bruce Wayne". We'll see...I do like him though so hoping for the best. The first trailer I liked. The second one where Wonder Woman shows up and they have that exchange about who brought the chick or whatever they said was awful. Then they came back with a few better ones. One thing I've heard is the actual fight between the two is really short for a film called "Batman v Superman".
  19. I sort of wondered if Affleck was brought on as a Plan B to Snyder. If it bombs, perhaps Affleck takes over as the steward of the Dc Universe...
  20. Yes, I've looked some more and seeing loads of great reviews and a few bad ones. The few bad ones I've had time to read seem to indicate its "beautiful" or "mesmerizing" and particularly praise Gadot and Affleck but find the movie "over stuffed". I saw references to some big spoilers that werent actually leaked in the trailers. I want to love the film but will judge it harshly because ill be very disappointed if it sucks. Man of Steel was so bad. Here's hoping. Two days to go for me!
  21. The in-story explanation announcers would use is that it makes a guy slippery. If you walked backstage during any indy (and WWE I would presume) show, you'd see guys doing push ups and using those ropes to get a little pump on. The baby oil makes the definition look better. I was at a local show a few weeks ago and a guy I know walked out from the back and pointed to one of the boys who just entered the ring and said "I've never seen a guy do so many push ups before a 5 minute match before" lol I gave one of our guys a gimmick years ago where he came to the ring sans baby oil (he was a big baby oil user with a ripped physique) and his pre-match routine would be inviting a girl from the crowd to come into the ring and oil him up. Was a popular schtick for awhile and you can probably guess where it went.... ;-)
  22. Well no. I can't speak for what you read (and wouldnt presume to tell you what you read), but I perused about five reviews last night before I posted that comment that were all universally positive.
  23. I agree. The "comedians" who cover politics are generally just arrogant jerks. I like Colbert though while disliking Stewart (he's not as bad as some). I can';t stand Bill Maher. Even when he's on the right side of an issue, he's so arrogant and dismissive of others. He insults people for laughs and acts like its "support" for his position. He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. There is no debating with him because he doesnt believe their is two sides to an issue, only his. He seems mean spirited.
  24. I wasnt against raising the age to 67. The point that life expectancy and the amount of time people work had gone up a lot since "65" was chosen is a pretty valid point. There are many options for today's worker to save money that wasnt there years ago. To expect the average Canadian to save/work an extra two years is asking much, in my opinion. But if JT wants to pay me at 65, I wont complain but I would expect to see a conservative government or two before I hit that age (long way to go), so who knows!
  25. I can't say I noticed to be honest! But now that I think about it, it *used* to be a thing, even locally (same with baby oil) but doesnt seem to be as big a thing. Although there are always spray bottles laying around for the guys that do like a few spritz. I think it just gives a "cooler" look, reflecting the lights, making it look like you just came from a work out etc. In photos, action shots look better with wet hair rather than "frizzy" hair. For guys with long hair, which is a lot of wrestlers, "wet" looks a lot better.
