So disappointed to here Burke's comments about how good the team is, how vastly improved they are and how they are on the "cusp". Worse, hearing Goltz parrot that same verbiage. Sounds like the team was given a PR release and told to use the word. Montreal fires their head coach. We pay ourselves on the back for not being blown out. Disgraceful. Mack left the cupboards bare as far as coaching goes. We literally cannot fire any of our coaches as we have no one to replace them.

Khari would be my pick for OC. If he's good he'd also be a feel good Head Coach in Waiting. But for now we need some fresh blood who understands the game.

Lawless had some good points on twitter today. Reassign Mack to US scouting for rest of season. Promote Walters to Interim GM rest of season and see what he's got. Promote Howell to offensive play calling.

Tillman also played the victim vowed it never happened and the truth would come out. Then he quietly admitted it was true. He's flat out crazy. Defends himself on fan forums under aliases. He's nuts. Smug, arrogant.

If the Board has someone in mind right now is available to become the GM, such as Walters, Tillman (ugh) etc, then make the move ASAP. If they want a period of time to conduct an exhaustive search with all available candidates, then wait til the off season. If they think waiting will give Mack the chance to mess things up even more, can him now and go status quo rest of the way with Walters. Its going to be Clown Shoe's decision anyway and he hasn't made any good decisions since becoming CEO.

If true, you have to wonder what is wrong with the BOD. I realise they dont get paid but if you're not going to take the job seriously, step down. Lyle might not be a terrible idea. Not a great idea,. But not terrible.

Mack must realise he's a lame-duck GM and there is really nothing short of a miraculous turn around that can change that.

I want Crowton gone. But we cant have "no OC". Im not as familar with the line coaches, do we have someone that can step in at OC? If the answer is Buck as OC with no experience doing that job, we're in trouble. I have a feeling Buchko will fire Mack next week. I think Crowton keeps his job til the off-season when a new GM can evaluate Burke's job and then go from there.

If we fire Crowton who do we replace him with? Unless Mack goes to Lapo, hat in hand, we have no one to replace him with. Just as we have no one to replace Mack and no one to replace Burke.

The government are the ones with the power to change the BOD. I remember a lot of people on these boards demanding we cut Kevin Glenn, demanding he never start another game. One of the reasons we're in the mess we are is because we cut Kevin Glenn. So I'm not ready to CUT the only experienced CFL starting QB with talent (and you can argue the level of talent but he is talented) we have and proclaim Goltz the starter. That's pure idiocy. He's done nothing to prove he's the Starter. I hope he leads us to ten Grey Cups, but we're hanging our future on a wing & prayer right now.

I meant why make a grand proclamation about the starters job? It's not like Goltz has shown anything to indicate he's a legitimate starting QB in this league. They've painted themselves into a corner. Goltz *must* play well and bring success or else management looks foolish. What are they going to do if Goltz plays poorly, make another grand proclamation that Max Hall is the starter? Announce Buck is back baby? Ridiculous. This managment doesnt have a clue. Now the Eric Tillman rumour is officially out there (per Rod Pedersen), its just another indication that the government needs to step in and get rid of this Board.

Why spend the time to respond with a post like that?

Wasn't one of the reasons Kyle Walters was promoted to assistant GM was to make him more accessible to the media? So where is he?

Here are my issues: - Who made the call? Burke and Buck are clearly not on the same page with what their conversation was about. Burke did not seem confident in his decision (was he told to do this?) - Why make this call at all? The team is such a circus right now, If Goltz sucks the next three games, then what? If Hall goes in and is terrible, then what? Do they have another presser to announce Buck is the new starting QB? It puts undue pressure on Goltz and unduly assigns blame to Buck and creates a huge distraction the team doesn't need. What they should have done is said "Buck is a bit banged up though he could play and we feel Goltz showed enough to warrant another start", then you sit down privately with Buck and explain that no one is officially number 1". And if you have to make some grand proclamation, do it during the bye week. - I'm a Buck guy but even I noticed he seems to lock in on a guy or force the ball down field or hesitate. It's entirely possible the multiple concussions have impacted his brain functions in such a way that would not be noticiable on a day to day basis, but as a pro athlete who needs to react and make decisions in split seconds, could be playing a part here. If so, that is terribly sad for Buck. - Where is the GM and CEO during this disaster. I almost wonder if Clown Shoe Buchko has already made the decision to fire Mack next week (and Mack knows) hence no reason to be publicly owning this mess.

I said before this wasn't Buchko's mess to speak on but it's now become such a circus he must speak and act. People talk about Mack being on the chopping block but lawless stated today that the board wanted Mack gone last season and Buchko convinced them otherwise. He's tied himself to this mess. He was an awful hire by a board that too often out smarts itself. They get too cute trying to think outside the box. He's a salesman in way over his head making football operations decisions for a pro franchise and he has zero experience doing that. It's a complete joke.

They have a very clear liberal slant. Not that the sun doesn't have a conservative bias but they don't pretend to be the voice of all the people while pushing an agenda. And the Freep has had some pretty well publicized and ugly issues stifling opinions they don't agree with. The reason the RRCC cre com department no longer has a radio station for student development is because of the Freep (and the agenda of some private radio execs that sat on the board).
