Because he's generally covering the #1 or the #2. He can play every position including Sam and safety. And do it well. He is also a.solid open field tackler and can bring the lumber. Not to mention his ability on the blitz. I'd take him over Houston in a heart beat.

It's extremely hard to improve upon a 14-4 record. In fact only 1 bomber in the history of the club has done better. GC is a 1 game, winner take all. I think you're forgetting he signed that contract while still a backup to Rourke. They were so set on VA being the #1 they went out and got Evans too. Like others have said his contract has been re-worked. Also what a weird ass hill to die on lol.
