  1. I agree with that. But the possibility of losing a QB is just too great to discard one that has the experience/skill set Willy does. I know, he's playing like ****. But that doesn't mean he can't turn it around. Watching the team from the bench improve week to week could help with his confidence. I'd really like to free up the $400,000 to improve other areas...but I don't like taking risks with the QB situation. Especially cause we're pretty much guaranteed to see an injury there some time during the season. Next year, obviously something will need to be done. But for the time being, we need experience behind centre.
  2. cause you know, starting QB's never get hurt in the CFL. and Nichols has finished every season he's played healthy....
  3. This is true, but there's knowing you're a part of the best, and then there's "wanting" to be acknowledge as part of the best. The wanting part is what takes ego over the top and comes across as whinny. Burris is a good QB and he's always come off as someone who wants to tell everyone that.
  4. yeah that game for what ever reason has been a difficult one. I'm hopeful this year will be different.
  5. If I was any coach especially in the West. Under normal circumstance (assuming no emergencies gaps needing to be filled due to injury etc etc) I would be in no hurry to trade anything or anyone to Sask. No matter what they offer. Even a 1st rounder (i mean within reason, if they want Castillo for their 1st it'd be stupid to say no). Even if it would make your team better. Let them sink to the bottom and stay there. One less team to worry about come playoff time.
  6. I read most of those, and anyone who suggest they should be feeling heat right now gets shot down pretty quick by the other posters. Lots of them are starting to come back to reality though on how good they will be this year/next. So that's nice.
  7. Not this year. For the most part they seem to understand how bad of a mess the team was in. The fans will give him to the end of next year to show improvement. If year 3 comes along and there's little hope for improvement, he'll be gone. But I don't see anyone demanding Jones be cut after this year no matter how bad their record is.
  8. the fact they think anyone would trade Loffler at this point speaks to amount of arrogance over there. Sure we'll trade you a rookie CND who has solidified his role in the starting line up for a guy who can't seem to break through on a team with sub par CNDs. I like Demski, but I'm not trading anything to get him this year.
  9. Something about that colour Green
  10. I thought both were worthy of a "hey guys, look at the score bored" type of deal.
  11. That's exactly what I thought too, he took that away from a solid rec. On another note, Fantuz is a tool. Kicks the ball like that after scoring 2 points while still down 26 lol.
  12. Absolutely. I was getting mad when he slide in cause the punt right before, the guy Jones and another where trying to block split them so easily off the line (Fogg made him miss thankfully) I thought it was stupid to leave him (ticat player) one on one out there....but then it worked out wonderfully!!
  13. I'd also like to know more, as in how many plays etc etc.
  14. They were only doing what the defence allowed them to do. That's how you protect the lead. Do not under any circumstance allow the big play/fast score. Take that away and you unfortunately give up the short/intermediate stuff, which is all they did. So while it looked like they were moving the ball on them. The defence was still fully in control except a few hiccups. Don't let the stats fool you, that was a very solid defensive effort the entire game.
  15. yeah, it wasn't ideal. But it's not uncommon. Especially for a team that is learning how to win. They still made the plays when they had to in the 4th to keep the clock rolling
  16. 4 games? Try almost 40. I think this would have been the 40th game had they not scored more than 30.
  17. I stuck it out all night. Got there at 7 and left at 1am lol. Absolutely worth it! Just fantastic to see the team dominate in all 3 phases!!!!!!!
  18. yes, Popp has had a successful career in MTL, but during times of struggle he has not really shown he can right the ship. So if he leaves to go to another franchise that needs to be straightened out, I'm not sure how anyone at this point can say he would be the man for the job. Considering both the on field product and constant reports of poor SMS management.
  19. 4) Oline has progressed and is showing signs of improvement
  20. I'm going to go with Clarence. Fantastic game considering how much practice time he had. Played like it was his last snap. Is it me or did he seem to have a better burst? It was fun watching him fly around out there again!
  21. I have one of the throw back jerseys. The all white one with a blue and gold stripe around the arms. Let me know if you want it.
  22. Chris Williams
  23. I know you're joking, but I don't recall him having any success here at all. Lapo or not. When he was playing didn't we only win 4 games that year? The best 4-14 team of all time.
  24. Any update on either of the Adams injuries? I saw a post on TEP about Dressler being put on the 6 game. But it's gone now. Anyone hear/see anything?
  25. We will see I guess. A few guys on here seem to think he may be our answer at a big deep threat rec. I'm excited to see him. As for Sears, that would be impressive. But man he just can't stay healthy. I don't think he's every played a full season. It's gonna catch up to him eventually. Maybe not this year if he is able to play again, but you gotta think he's gonna be looking for a new home come next year.
