Yeah very low mileage. I was always surprised when he would resign with MTL as he has always looked like a solid back. Thought he would have tried to get a starting spot somewhere, earlier in his career.

Top 10 Greatest Bomber Moments of All Time
Bigblue204 replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'd switch out Deons INT with the come back against MTL. Why? 1st, that team wasn't good. And didn't end up doing anything after that. It's a nice story but did little to propel the team on to anything, and actually that game led to a few years of darkness as Lapo was canned shortly after. 2nd, the MTL come back was special, as it was against a team with a stingy D (within recent history anyway) with a QB who has been hated by bomber fans for years, during a season that was seemingly balancing between decent to garbage. It drastically changed the way the media (both local and nation wide) as well as fans talked about that team and it was the Home town hero with the final score to steal it. Deons play was great, but does not belong on this list. As for Milts 4/4 game. I honestly just can't understand what those DB's were thinking..."oh here comes one of the greatest (soon to be Greatest) rec in CFL history, let's just let him go". It wasn't that he even had to make great plays. He was WIDE open on every catch. I can still remember yelling MILT!!!! just as Kevin glenn released the ball to him on each pass, even the fans knew where Glenn was going! It was just too easy!!!! You wouldn't believe it if it was in a movie. I can't see anyone ever doing anything like that again. Especially someone as established as #85 was at the time. -
You're thinking Sutton. I don't think Rutley has ever missed significant time due to injury, and he's the back up to Sutton. He is getting up there in age though.
-
Roberts, Reid, Cornish, Sutton, Messam, Marshall (though he's not in the same category as the others). Quality RB's/running game, have little to nothing to do with the lack of success Glen has had in playoff games.

How you know?

I'd be blown away if Legget didn't resign. He's still in WPG and is always talking about how much he likes it here. Randle I think they will need to spend a bit on. And he is worth it. Heath I can see being the odd man out. Forget about the freelancing etc etc. It's just the nature of the beast. You can't spend all the money on one piece, same as Bond. Both players will get offers, but they likely both want more $$ and probably deserve it. Saying that, replacing 1 of 5(6 including SAM) is not in a rebuilding of the secondary. And will be the norm moving forward. You just won't see WR groups, DB groups, Oline groups etc etc remain intact every year. There will always be turn over.

I've never been a fan of Durant. And I never will be. Thought he was overrated in his prime and he seems to be overrated now. I'd take Glenn over him as a backup, though I hope the bombers can do better than both.
-
God I hope the Bombers don't sign Durant. He should probably just hang em up at this point. Please don't sign here!!!!!

We've been over how that wouldn't work. Only the coaches/players know who the intended rec. is for that specific play. And illegal contact can change it. So I'd just rather do away with the illegal contact challenging all together than put in another rule that the refs/coaches can get wrong or abuse.

I disagree. They would have looked much better. Hurl missed a lot of tackles, not due to scheme or being in the wrong position. He was right there, and the runners 8 out of 10 times would make him miss.
-
The only thing they have is the coach of the team literally told the press that he would be the greatest to ever play up here. Which is obviously bullshit. But they could use that to pump up the price. "You think i'll be the best, prove it" type of deal.
-
I'm going to assume he took a cut to come back. And I hope he did, otherwise I think they made a mistake. Decent player when he's on the field. I really like the fact he wanted to come back and try to see it through.
-
could be difficult to have that many in TC, just due to the number of reps. MLB need to be the "qb of the D" as it's always put. So I'd imagine for a Coach to be comfortable with making a Rookie the starter, they'd have to have a good sample size.

Ray has a relationship with Maas. It's not like they've never worked together.
-
Yup, and this is where it gets confusing. Cause those things aren't really scheme related...kinda. I mean if the DB's are constantly missing assignments, they should maybe look at making changes to those assignments. However, had they done their job and not missed the assignments, maybe they could have been a lock down D. So this is where it's hard to tell if it's the players or the scheme. Likely a little of both. Maybe they made the changes, maybe they didn't. No one outside of the locker rooms knows. But the missed assignments happened all year without fail . And missed tackles are just bad execution for the most part.
-
How many do they have under contract?
-
Uhhh wasn't he undeafeted as a Hammy QB for a while, it was just the injuries kept taking him out of games. Maybe he wasn't undeafeted, but he certainly put the league on notice his first couple years in Hamilton. To say once he left TO he lost it, is just not true.
-
Not Oshea, but Hall for sure. Likely replaced by Oshea and another coach already on staff.
-
I could be wrong, but I'm thinking the additions he's speaking of are yet to come. As in this up coming FA/February. And no one has walked yet, as FA starts in FEB not Nov 26th.
-
Big fat NO to bringing durant here. Guy is done.
-
I hope he can get back to his old form. But I question whether or not he can stay healthy.

I totally forgot about Jovon. I meant mostly that they have key pieces in every spot. Gainey, Jefferson, Muamba. They really only need to add a few more to get there. It's true that Gainey was gifted A LOT. But you don't get double digit INTs by accident. I hope to god they fall flat on their face, but I honestly see them doing well next year on the Defensive side of the ball.
-
Thing with Bridge is, he always came into games after the fact. He rarely started. Hard to maintain that success if your starting every week. But we will see. Glenn is Glenn...he'll put up his numbers and all the fans will be convinced they are GC bound. Then Glenn will remind them all why he's been on almost every team. I honestly think the SSK Defence will be a force next year. They have the secondary/Dline and LB's assuming the key pieces are back.
-
How does moving 2 pieces around seem like a good idea? Especially when 1) Chungh has played very well at RG, 2) he has a good thing going with Hardrick, and 3) Neuf played LG just fine. Even if you don't have Neuf in there, why not just put Couture into the LG spot? Less moving disruption of what has been working just fine.
