After watching that play a few times I can't see how that was intentional unless he knew what he was doing going over the pile.

A very boring game is going to get a lot worse with this rain.

It's entirely possible that we are going to be right back in the hunt. BC likely without VA Against Hamilton at home. We seem to have trouble with eastern teams sometimes but we're at home. I like our chances Back-to-back against the Riders when they are down trending. I won't pretend like we will win Labour day. That is a tough one. But I think it's better that we are playing our best defensively in that game. And it seems we are. 4 games that are very winnable. Critical games to win the season series against BC and Sask. I'm excited.

I find it very tough to believe that the Elks won't manage to lose this game

It has to be "clear" - the command centre (probably) Seriously though that was egregious. Did they change all the rules in the offseason?

D was a revelation. We even got some real QB pressure. Great to see. Saw a lot of really good linebacker play as well including Michael Griffin mucking it up inside the tackle box. Maybe the biggest game from our offensive line today once they got established. Zach was dropping back and felt comfortable in the pocket. Lucky - he's not leaving the lineup. He didn't play the majority of snaps but he made a big impact anyways. For a smaller guy he is exceptional at getting extra yards while a guy is trying to tackle him. You really see his veteran savvy.

Can play the 50/50 without going to the game. But maybe not everyone knows that.

My take on Neufeld is that he got old, he's never been a supremely athletic guy, and he's been relatively injured since the start of the season. Did he get hurt in that game? Even just a small aggravation is going to turn someone who was just getting by into a complete liability. So I think that's where we're at. He's on the 6 game and I don't particularly think he's coming back barring massive injuries on the line.

What a series for Hubert where the OL in charge of blocking him gets a procedure call and then the next play he goes and draws a holding penalty. Last round in the CFL draft. What a steal

In a low scoring tight game the difference was a free touchdown for Toronto (that was PI without a doubt. Embarassing) and a terrible spot which took our opportunity away to win anyways. And then there were all the ways the Bombers were trying to give the game away. It's comical at this point.

That should have been an easy PI call on the field. If they mess this up in the command center...

Fair enough. I actually forgot we are currently starting Clercius. He should definitely be our extra receiver. I'm really down on Demski these days. But him being a 3rd or 4th option and not running as many plays down the field would be good.

Him being a goto receiver for Zach has had negative consequences too. Fumbles and interceptions when he's been the guy. I wouldn't say defenses necessarily have been worried about him. I don't think we should bench Demski but I think we can get a lot of production once Lawler is in for Johnson. Use Demski as more of an Andre Durie type. He will get his snaps. Have Bailey on the field is going to make everybody else better. Also our ratio doesn't matter. We start a million Canadians already.

Please state your case

I'd be tempted to put Bailey in for Demski at this point. He runs the sweeps a lot better. He run blocks better. He pass blocks better. He doesn't fumble the ball. He makes catches in the hard areas. He can make deep contested catches as much as Demski. I don't really see the downside.

He tries to do big hits all the time. He just sucks now. Still thinks he can lay guys out but usually it's him falling over/bouncing off and giving up big gains

It's becoming way too commonplace that Collaros + Demski = turnover. This is partly because of Zach's locking on to his guy and partly because Demski has terrible ball management and isn't 6'5" like Collaros thinks he is.
