  1. Impossible to say. I'm not happy about the Morgan pick either because that's not who I wanted to see, but we can't say "so and so would've been available" - it's pretty obvious that draft boards don't play out anywhere near what the media and fans expect. So while I'm not thrilled with the pick, it can't be called a waste at this point. Agreed it's impossible to say, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think we got the expected value out of that pick that I was hoping for, especially considering how much Walters was pumping how great this draft was. After sleeping on it though, I think Walters had a solid draft, but he didn't hit a home-run like I was hoping for. A home-run for me would have been Chungh, Demski and Shortill. That would have been an A+ in my books. Instead, I give Walters a B. I'm thinking they really wanted Shortill but really NEEDED a receiver and really liked Addison Richards. By the time their next pick came around, on Kyle Walter's board I see Shortill's name crossed off and Morgan's name right under it.
  2. The only interesting thing (I thought) was that they want to continue with Lirim handling all kicking duties and have a backup kicker. **emergency Right, emergency would be the correct word.

  4. Kamau Peterson? No not Kamau Peterson...he was Canadian and I believe played a lot of football before he got to the CFL. This guy was a track star of some kind and we brought him in to see if he could catch the football too. Didn't make it out of TC.
  5. Kind of reminds me of that super speedy american receiver we signed for TC that one time (believe it was Taman). He also hadn't played much of any football. Can't remember his name though. He couldn't catch the ball, at all. Hopefully this is a different story.
  6. These things tend to work themselves out.
  7. Little also out a couple games. He didn't seem like his usual self against Ottawa...
  8. I was happy trading Kane and Bogo for Meyers, Stafford plus prospects and a 1st rounder. In my opinion it will make us a better team now AND in the future. I won't analyze it here in great detail but it was really an amazing trade IMO and I'm looking forward to the 2015-2016 season. This team is not a Cup contending team though. Some of the rumours of us trading draft picks to get forward depth scares me a little bit. Keep the cupboards fully stocked Jets. This isn't our year.
  9. Hope last year didn't ruin him. He played very well at the start of the year despite the guys he had in front of him, but just couldn't keep it up due to injury(fear?).
  10. Pretty excited to see him in a Bomber uniform. I think he will excel.

  12. This is the smart way... is it not? I would agree. Very smart decision by the Bomber braintrust
  13. Pretty clear we didn't want to spend big money on an import receiver so that we could use it on Canadians (and maybe an import OT...)
  14. Probably secured him so he can trade him. I would say it's either this or Huff has mind control powers. That might not be an exclusive "or" either.
  15. Would imagine they'd want to sign him sooner rather than later for defensive recruitment reasons
  16. To me it's pretty clear that as far as personnel goes, we are much better on the defensive side of the ball. Our DBs are about as good as any in the league and we have certain pieces in place on the defensive line and linebackers. I would say I am happy with about 8/12 of the defense. As far as our offense, I'm happy with Drew Willy, Paris Cotton and reasonably content with a couple other spots on the field. So maybe about 5/12 of the offense I'm happy with. We need big improvements on offense (especially our offensive line). Etch had much more to work with than MB. This was a no brainer.
  17. Wow Yantz looked good out there... They were really pumping the tires of Cousineau, but he had loads of time to throw at times. Yantz just looked better. May be the homer in me though.
  18. BC defence not getting the job done and this game snowballed on them
  19. Add me to the "best player" contingent. Within reason though. Need can factor in
  20. DT Zach Anderson -I wasn't too impressed with how much pressure we got from the d-line this year...nor how well we stopped the run at the line of scrimmage. A lot of people blame our linebackers. I think we have to get better on the defensive line too. We hitched our wagon to Turner and Vega this year and I didn't think they had the impact we hoped. Anderson didn't get a lot of playing time this year, so I think he should still get a shot going into next year. Wouldn't shell out big bucks for him though. WR Romby Bryant -Pass here. Don't know if he gives us anything except for the occasional crossing route. So basically Brock Ralph. QB Brian Brohm -I'm unsure about him. I personally don't think that he will ever be a #1 guy, so I wouldn't be surprised if they try to find someone better to bring in. CB Matt Bucknor -Yes. 100x over yes. Very solid wide side corner. LB Mike Cornell -Who? Well he's Canadian so he has that going for him...I guess... LB Desia Dunn -His versatility is useful and he seems like a "coach's player". A steady guy overall. His time might be up though as he's not really an impact player and we have talented DBs...pass. OL Gord Hinse -Canadian offensive lineman...but I don't know too much about him. OL Glenn January -His willingness to be here and take a "hometown" salary may keep him on the team. It's scary to not try to sign every offensive lineman that we have before we have a steady guy to replace him. Jace Daniels could be that guy. WR Aaron Kelly -We need to find better receivers...either in free agency or from down south. QB Josh Portis -Know nothing about him LB Johnny Sears -Obviously sign him. He would be near the top of my list of impact players. LB Rene Stephan -Would sign him but only for a discount. OL Devin Tyler -A guy that came in and did a decent job. Might be worth bringing back. RB Carl Volny -Special teamer and fan favourite to be the next great Canadian running back...(lol). Would keep him around. DB Demond Washington -Phenomenal athlete. Needs to hone his craft a bit more. Thought Bruce Johnson was better but maybe I'm not giving him enough respect. Demond Washington can be an impact player when he's not taking stupid penalties or fumbling the ball. Was part of a very good secondary this year. Overall we obviously need to bring him back...and I think he can be even better. LB Ian Wild -I don't think he's an elite linebacker but he's pretty good. Gotta bring him back.
  21. Bring some of those defensively linemen back that played in that last game. Our defensively line was a let down for me this year. Vega and Turner were pretty invisible
  22. Guys get injured. Just happy we are going to have another impact player in our stable. Hope him and Moore can stay healthy for next season. Will make our offence a lot better
  23. They have better Canadians than us in their first year..
  24. Thus is super sketchy. Oh well not a huge loss
