  1. The negotiation window does not apply to Streveler. He has been a CFL free agent for a couple years now. The negotiation window is for players who are still under contract. Teams have already been negotiating with Streveler and can sign him any time.
  2. I don't see Gray signed. He wasn't a world beater and who knows what is going on with him. Seems like the kind of guy that has a future outside of football and may be taking it. My guess is that we had money set aside for kolo/gray with a timeline and this is what happened.
  3. The one thing I'll say is that people have taken our o line depth for granted. I wasn't a particular fan of kolo but we will need at least 4 Canadians that can play. Kolo can play
  4. Strev is worth more to us right now. Don't think we would be spending that much on Strev in hard money , but I can definitely see a performance/incentive laden contract in case Zach gets put on the 6 game at some point.
  5. Augustine is your backup RB and special teamer. He's got some great tools - speed mainly. He can gash you if he gets a hole. He's no joke. But not the greatest blocker and I don't think teams are game-planning for him.
  6. This Barriere fellow sounds like the most exciting QB prospect we've signed in a while. No offense to Brown.
  7. Yeah I can see that. Ottawa may have been in the running for Strev. This essentially puts them out of it. Also, as pointed out, the negotiation window for Ottawa is a lot smaller than it would have been if they had him earlier so hence the lower value. To me it just comes down to timing and I think to an extent we blew it a bit.
  8. At this point sure. Still kind of surprised it's only A 5th. Doesn't seem like we got the most return we could have if we traded him earlier. Damn
  9. LOL never meant it to be. It was an explanation as to how we might not spend quite as much on QBs
  10. Also signing Strev essentially means no Prukop and probably a rook at QB3
  11. Are other teams going to bank on Strev being an every down quarterback? Dru Brown would be a much more likely bet, but even with that I don't think Brown is getting starters money. He just wants a shot at the position
  12. I think Brady needs to take a second to think about all the players around him that made him successful. If he ends up going somewhere else with a **** offensive line he's going to have a lot of trouble.
  13. Please don't make the rules more like the NFL. This is one of those things that would make me like the product a lot less
  14. It's the O Line more than Brady. I like the way Brady plays but there's plenty of American guys that can play just as well. Hell, Johnny Augustine has looked great in many circumstances
  15. The only way I can see this making us better for next year is that Osh is essentially going to take over the ST duties and mentor Mike Miller on the finer aspects of coaching. JY switching roles with Hall is likely not going to make us better. But it will keep us better for the long run.
  16. Ford's middle of the season was elite - MOP numbers. Once teams game planned him he couldn't do much. But he is still pretty new
  17. I don't think Lawler had a great year this year for whatever reason (there were a few) . He was a top prize in FA for a reason. In Edmonton he was getting open a lot. IMO he can give similar or better production than Schoen of he can get back to form.
  18. When healthy we are far and away the better team. Montreal was red hot and extremely healthy. We dressed 3 receivers that couldn't make near the impact they would have if they were healthy. And then on top of that we turned the ball over in key situations and our defensive game plan was bad. It ******* sucks but looking forward to next year.
  19. Good, these guys are good but hopefully 2 Grey Cup losses will light a fire under them to find some impact players
