  1. ....and we should know. The enduring mystery is why anyone else would want to find out.
  2. I have the greatest respect for the gems of knowledge and wisdom of the great posters, although the top-drawer fellas generally have a good grip on things and the upper-echelon guys make pretty salient points, from time to time. Not so hard......uh, where was I?
  3. At this point, in trying to get any kind of a "win" the Republican "leadership" Trump, Pence, O'Connell along with the ole Tea baggers like Rand Paul.....are pretty busy at work. Belittling, threatening and attacking any reasonable, moderate, logical, and practical Republicans, who could be fiscally conservative and socially liberal. In short, the people that could actual help the party create legislation that makes some form of sense. As opposed to the crap sandwich of a repressive agenda, that is the current Republican party line. Some Republicans used to understand the value and benefits of science, immigration, the environment, and education. Unfortunately, any potential reasonable internal debate has been drowned out by cheap slogans and bellowing of alternative facts. Meanwhile regulatory bodies, key Federal departments, and consumer protections are being gutted. Healthcare and social services for millions of Americans also hangs in the balance. I am old enough to remember a time when racists, gun nuts, religious cranks and extreme alt right types were the fringe, rather than the voice and agenda of the Republican Party. The cherry on top, is having a President who is patently morally, intellectually, and temperamentally unfit to hold that office. Sad.
  4. There once was a guy, named Do or Die Who drank the gin, not on the sly. Football made him all a quiver. Who cares what it did, to his liver? Spends way too much time on this board. But has found no way, to cut the cord. All he can do, is drink and sigh. While waiting for the Bombers to fly.
  5. Just put the gimp back into the redhead....
  6. Always a bonus when your big veteran players give the example and set the tone for the young guys.....
  7. Dressler and the "overpaid" Medlock, have panned out.
  8. Lions O is largely successful - off of their receiver's YAC and ability to win the deep jump or 50/50 balls, on not so perfect passes. Our DB's will have to play tough on the ball, in this one. Of course the best pass D is simply crushing the pocket - inside pressure is particularly good, as it messes up the QB throwing lanes. If our DL can do that consistently, we have a good shot, here. Harris has to get at least 15 touches, and our passing game has to get out of the gate, quicker. Getting back to our usual good kick coverage is a must. As far as this Thorpe fella.... after both times he got hurt - he was then put right back with the 1st team in practice....which tells me, that the coaches are high on this guy. We need a bit more YAC/bomb threat out there, on O anyways......so lets find out. Looking at this Bomber team, though early in the season......folks are wondering about the "identity" of this squad. As I look at the guys we have on the OL....and the DL we are putting together - the answer may simply be.... a smash mouth bunch, who physically pounds on people and wears them down (ie. Toronto 4th quarter) Strictly speculation of course.
  9. Banks isn't scaring anyone these days, either
  10. ...add the Collaros happy feet, and things are not looking good in Steeltown
  11. BC receivers make any QB look pretty good....
  12. Horrible pick from ZC....giving the Lions the ball right back. Deflating.
  13. Lions don't even think they need Jennings..
  14. Would love to see Hamilton win this one. But, looking at the unbalanced O, bad pass pro, leaky secondary, and their penchant for penalties and mental errors. Real hard to see it.
  15. Stamps on well worn trail. Wonderment of life at night. Bo passing strange. Return with empty saddles.
  16. We get pretty conservative on both sides of the ball, when we have leads......which makes it hard to hold leads. Not sure why a similar approach is required in the 1st quarter of games.....
  17. Which puts the opposition in deep do-do...
  18. Westwood is actually taller than most people would think. That soapbox he carries around every morning.... might have something to do with it, though.
