  1. Or even signing guys to future deals would be nice. Ottawa, for example, signed a QB a couple weeks ago so they could kick tires a bit, saw something they liked so they signed him to a futures deal for next season. They released him from the PR so now they can bring someone else in to take a look at - maybe for this year or maybe for next year. Either way, they aren't standing pat.
  2. Doesn't look planned but it looks like both the coaches and players recognized what was happening. This video (11:20 mark) shows one Hamilton defender briefly stop near Wheatfall and then keeps going towards the sideline (maybe thinking the other Ticat right behind him will be covering the receiver?). Once both guys are going past him, Wheatfall starts waving to Strevy, who also saw that Wheatfall was wide open. At the 11:30 mark, there's a sideline view showing Osh also trying to get Strevy's attention.
  3. It's pretty noticeable how inactive we are compared to other teams in this aspect, if you look at the CFL transaction page or the social media account that tracks neg list changes. The Bombers show up there way less than other teams so it gives the impression we are satisfied with who they have (or who they want to have, in the case of the neg list players).
  4. Nah, he's just as bad. He tried to go after Dinwiddie but Mital shoved him away before he could do anything. Killam said he was just frustrated with the loss but if he controls his bench better during the game, none of that happens.
  5. Shouldn't but this club loves to do the same thing over and over. We piss away cap space on players who rarely if ever get a chance to contribute so what does it matter if it's QB3, WR, LB or any other position?
  6. Why not? Look at what we are paying for Mitchell or Jones.
  7. 4 sacks in 2 games now for Kongbo.
  8. They have a (rookie) HC who was willing to acknowledge things (Ford) weren't working as they'd hoped so they made a change (Fajardo) and look what's happened for them.
  9. In a home Grey Cup year. Heads should roll if that happens.
  10. Not sure about Kramdi but Holm certainly didn't beat anybody out - it was an injury that got him pencilled in as a starter. In his case, he didn't start until September 17th in 2022. Hallett and Taylor got hurt the week before, in the Banjo Bowl so Holm got bumped up (BA came off the IR as the other replacement).
  11. Nobody expects a coach, certainly not this one, to throw a player under the bus but his inaction (ie: not willing to staple some players to the bench) gives the impression he's ok with their performance. He might be the only person who watched the game and feels that way.
  12. And one to a completely wide open wheatfall.
  13. You're thinking of Reggie White Jr.
  14. For him, not getting torched is cause for celebration!
  15. There are other issues with his decision making that have nothing to do with Walters or recruitment. His decision, for example, to refuse to use the DA rule is baffling - like why would you handicap yourself and your team because you don't like a rule?
  16. Schoen was not on the books - he was a pending FA that we extended in February.
  17. I think he meant Thomas will eat 4 sack lunches during the game tonight.
  18. Hard to forget about paying $150k for 11 catches & 85 yards. 😂 We're paying about $250k between Mitchell & Schoen for their combined 340 yards receiving and 2 TD's vs $280-300k and 1k yard receving and 10 TD's for Lawler. Saying Walters **** the bed on that would be a massive understatement.
  19. Yeah why pay for the best WR in the league when you can get a beat up Schoen for 5 games at half the price? That's money well spent right there!
  20. Even if he fully tore it after he came back, they still let him finish the game knowing it was re-injured. By their own admission, he got hurt again early in the LDC so why was he out still there?
  21. Disrespected because instead of trying to re-sign him, they went after Mitchell first. Didn't even receive an offer until the day before FA opened. His agent only had 2 brief conversations with them during the off-season. They wanted to let the market determine his value rather than coming to an early agreement, Bombers shut down his side business working in grassroots football in the city. Said it wasn't that they didn't want him doing it but they wanted it to be under their organization so his work permit got cancelled.
