  1. You can read the requirements yourself. It spells out very clearly what's needed from both the player and the league. I had to look into a P-1A visa last summer, for my own work an official in another sport, so while not a lawyer, I do have some recent experience in this area. Standard processing time is 2-4 months but you can pay extra to have a premium processing, in which case it's about 3 weeks. He would have had a work visa when he was with the Packers (since he got paid for his brief time there) but that would have been tied to his contract with them. There is a window where he would have been able to get on with another team and the visa would be valid but it's only for 60-90 days so he'd need a new one for the UFL. The issue is getting a new one and whether or not the UFL qualifies. P-1A Athlete | USCIS For Internationally Recognized Individuals or Teams You must submit a copy of a tendered contract with a major U.S. sports league or team, or in an individual sport commensurate with international recognition in the sport, if such contracts are normally utilized in the sport, and documentation of at least two of the following: Evidence of having participated to a significant extent in a prior season with a major United States sports league; Evidence of having participated in international competition with a national team; Evidence of having participated to a significant extent in a prior season for a U.S. college or university in intercollegiate competition; A written statement from an official of the governing body of the sport which details how you or your team is internationally recognized; A written statement from a member of the sports media or a recognized expert in the sport which details how you or your team is internationally recognized; Evidence that you or your team is ranked, if the sport has international rankings; or Evidence that you or your team has received a significant honor or award in the sport. You must be coming to the United States to be employed as an athlete by: A team that is a member of an association of six or more professional sports teams whose total combined revenues exceed $10 million per year. The association must govern the conduct of its members and regulate the contests and exhibitions in which its member teams regularly engage
  2. Who says the agent hasn't been doing that? On one hand you say why isn't this done already but on the other hand you acknowledge it takes time. His situation has been changing so that can affect the process. If he was still with the Packers, it would be a different story but we're talking about the UFL, not the NFL and there's a world of difference. The UFL needs to have $10 million in combined revenue and I don't know if they qualify - the USFL certainly didn't when Dobson tried. He's not trying to get a visa to play in the NFL though. I don't think this is an issue if he was still with the Packers or another NFL team picked him up but it's the UFL we're talking about.
  3. And how is he supposed to get a work visa, just go ask for one or pick one of the visa tree? Elgersma has to provide documentation, including contracts, in order to qualify and he hasn't had that until now. Even with a contract (as seen by the Dobson situation), it's not a guarantee he'll get one.
  4. Yep, it was Dobson. The USFL didn't generate enough revenue for their players to qualify for work visas. Bombers sign 2021 third overall pick Liam Dobson after failed attempt to join USFL - 3DownNation
  5. I hope all his vaccinations are up to date!
  6. Apparently Elgersma is still trying to get a work visa so that might be why they brought somebody else in. If he's not able to get one before the season starts, they need a 3rd QB.
  7. Yes, that's his family's business. He worked there before getting into politics.
  8. If he decides to run again, he will probably win, unfortunately.

  10. It's not just us though. If MOS thought Hogan was doing even a halfway decent job, he'd still be our OC. The fact that he was demoted, speaks volumes.
  11. I don't know that it's going to be pinned on the air traffic controller. Emergency vehicles are coordinated by the ground controllers, not air controllers and even if the ground crew gave the truck clearance, a plane coming in for landing has the right of way. The ATC was recorded as having told the truck to stop at least 10 times so what more could he have done? He was also recorded as saying he messed up but another ATC told him that he did everything he could. There doesn't seem to be any record of what the ground controllers were doing/saying so that's probably what the investigation will focus on. There doesn't seem to be any communication between the ground crew, air crew & the truck.
  12. Collaros looked cooked 10 years ago because of his injuries - the fact he's healthy & still playing at all is remarkable.

  14. She was on a couple seasons ago too and wore some bison earrings to represent Manitoba. This is season 50 so they made it a big all-star season of returning players - gives you an idea of how well she did if she was asked to be a part of it. She's had a few players from her first season and this season up to Winnipeg - lots of Instagram pictures of them at Jets games.
  15. Very little residential will be very close to the stadium. You have the rapid transit station to the North/North West & campus land to the North East providing a buffer. Those areas are bordered by Sifton road which is meant to be the main retail area of the new development with coffee shops, pubs, banks etc. Here's a better look at what's planned - it's nothing like Ottawa. They are also very actively promoting the proximity to the stadium (and other facilities) as a major selling point so people buying there should be well aware of those considerations.
  16. If the Bombers really want Vaccaro, they've got to give up something and that might be what it takes. I can't see Vaccaro still being available at 4 when we pick but it's the CFL draft so who knows.
  17. He struggled a bit early last season (that terrible game against the vikings was in 2024) but played fairly well after that.
  18. He must have used ChatGPT to see the projected depth chart where he was listed behind Darian Durant. Chase saw the writing on the wall and decided to hang them up.
  19. Is Chat aware that a lot of those listed are retired or playing for a different team?

  21. It's official. Tickets won't go on-sale until March 6th leaving just 5 weeks for them to sell tickets - very odd timing. Wonder what happened in Ottawa to make them back out.
  22. Late comeback sends the men to the Gold Medal game. First team in Olympic history to come from behind in both the quarterfinal & semifinal games & advance to the finals.
  23. It's a Fight Night card not a PPV so it won't be insane (for an event like that). I also wonder if the relatively short notice will affect ticket prices? Under 2 months until the event is unusual, especially since it hasn't even been officially announced yet. By comparison, when Vancouver had their Fight Night this past October, the card was announced in June so they had a lot more time to sell tickets (even AEW tickets have been on-sale for 2 months now). They may price this one lower to try to move tickets quickly.
  24. Nothing... absolutely nothing.
