9 out of 10 from 3DN are picking the Bombers this week and it might still be early but some of their statements are not looking good. ABBOTT: It will be closer than last week, but not close enough DURRELL: The Bombers are tough to beat at home but I think Edmonton keeps this close GRANT: I really like this Elks team, but Winnipeg has only lost five games at home since the 2018 season. The Bombers will get it done, but not without a fight. HERRERA-VERGARA: The return of MBT will be the difference for Edmonton HOSKINS: Edmonton puts up a better fight but the Bombers just find ways to beat them. KLEIN: It doesn’t exactly get easier to play in Winnipeg as the year goes on. Edmonton puts up a good fight but Bombers prevail again.

Dumbledore & McGonagall on the same day, one year apart.

I don't think your recollection is correct. He played the last 9 minutes of the 2nd quarter and there were a total of 6 pass plays called for him. He went 1-5 passing (he was sacked in the end zone on the other pass play) with only one drop from a receiver. He somehow got hurt and didn't see the field in the 2nd half - not sure how it happened since he was on the field to end the 1st half & was just handing the ball off. He showed nothing of the mobility that Ford has so not sure where that comparison came from. You can watch his play from that game here (he comes in just before the 32 minute mark of the video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY8J8CeE_jA

I've spent a fair bit of time the last few weekends at the Sport Manitoba building near Waterfront and it was really nice walking around that area & grabbing a drink at the Pumphouse at the end of the day. There are areas of downtown that are still pretty bad but there are also areas that have really improved.

I hope those guys keep up their amazing picks this week. From the 10 guys they had picking games last week, 8 of them picked Edmonton to win. The two guys who have clearly paid attention knew that we've played really well against mobile QB's this year while the rest had these gems: -
They did say it was unrelated to his previous injury but they also immediately put him back on the 6 game list. Pure speculation but I get the feeling it must have been pretty severe and obvious for them to that so quickly. If it was minor, they could have just scratched him for the game and took another look in a couple days before making any determinations. They can obviously still do that & pull him from the 6 game list early but that part caught my eye and got me wondering.

Just read his Wiki.. he was already signed by the Riders but was released before playing a game for them last year so maybe they'll bring him back. He went to the indoor league after the Riders released him but got suspended after going into the crowd to confront a fan. Chris Jones said that's my kind of guy and signed him to the L's. -

It's not even a rumour though, it's all public knowledge. Guys like Maier & Mike Rose have acknowledged the argument between Roberson & Coatney and said maybe it's something that needed to happen. Marken Michel & Begelton gave an interview 2 weeks ago where (without naming names) they called out young guys on their team. I had forgotten that Adams also has a guaranteed contract for next year. I'd love to see BC have to hold on to him for another year and figure out how to fit both his & Rourke's contract in. Yeah it just goes to show that those types of teams aren't limited to young head coaches or this era. The belief that past eras were more respectful is wrong, IMO. -

Is it their age or their personality and what they allow their staff/players to do? MOS would have been considered a young HC (he was 42 when he came here) but you know that stuff would not fly with him, then or now. Rick Campbell and MOS are the same age but they could not be more different in how they let their teams their teams act. -

Yeah seems he's doing as well as can be expected. He did this interview for a podcast a couple months after that instagram post and gave an update on his health. -

Here's a good article from when Walters took over in 2013 as it regards to the culture of the team. https://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/kyle-walters-named-acting-general-manager-of-winnipeg-blue-bombers-replacing-joe-mack/ -

Yeah, worded poorly but I meant as a part of the management team which is what you referenced. -

Walters came here as AGM in 2013 and MOS came in 2014 so it wasn't like Walters was a long term firmly entrenched guy. -

What has given you the impression that Dickenson has ever had the balls to run a locker room? He has always struck me as an "aw shucks, I'm just happy to be here kind of guy". Not someone who would command respect in any way shape or form. As far as Mace goes, he seems like a guy players would listen to more than Dickenson but he's still in year one so even if he wanted to change that locker room, it's going to take time. It's not like we didn't have some shitheads in Osh's early days (Kuale comes to mind). He's also stuck with O'Day as his GM so there's only so much he can do. -

They said last week that the bye-week gave them a chance to work out both QB's before having to sign one of them so we should probably hear something soon. Hamilton figured both may stick around but one would have to take a PR spot, assuming Wilson stays as QB3. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/special/sports-editors-picks/2024/09/11/pair-of-qbs-to-vie-to-replace-bombers-injured-signal-caller-streveler -
Yeah not even considering him as a person or businessman, the WWE was way overdue for a change. Their product definitely felt refreshed, to me, when he left and Triple H was fully in charge.

Yeah I saw another article saying that the door is still open so I agree that they'll try to put another proposal together.

There was an offer a few weeks ago that was turned down. https://globalnews.ca/news/10740297/couche-****-disappointed-7-eleven-owner-bid/ I heard about it on Sirius XM and thought it was interesting. The show I was listening to is based in New York and they mentioned that many 7-11's in the area had been closing the last few years so it's not just a Winnipeg thing.
