  1. I'd be willing to bet Teague will be on speed dial in case of injuries or something.
  2. And away we go! http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/17/politics/al-green-impeachment-call/index.html?sr=fbCNN051717al-green-impeachment-call/0340PMVODtopLink&linkId=37687614
  3. It's also revisionist history. Had St.John accepted the Riders initial offer, his contract would have been right in line with the other 1st overall picks. Jones was perfectly fine with the going rate until Hardaway did his usual shtick.

Well it turns out Texas regulations do not define what a downed fighter is so it's up to the discretion of the ref. Herb says one legal and one not so that's pretty much it. The appeal will not be successful just based on that.
  5. Mini camp is over and none of the Canadians were offered contracts. Even if the plan is just to have him come be an extra leg at camp & then go back to school, he'll have to sign a deal with us.
  6. Spooner, Gray & Menard Briere are the 3 remaining unsigned picks.

    More Texas madness...

Ontario's biggest issue is how much it costs to hold an event. Their former boss has retired and he was rumored to be a part of their problem so we'll see how they do without him. NY definitely hasnt gotten off to a good start with mma which is weird because they usually handle boxing fine. I don't always agree with Nevada decisions but they do follow their regulations. They are unique in that the majority of big fights are there so there's way more attention paid to them. Given how many shows they do, they have a decent track record.

There's commissions like Texas or Edmonton that are on a whole other level though. They have repeatedly ignored their own regulations & that could get someone seriously hurt. They are lawsuits waiting to happen.

Appeals are very rarely successful and Texas has a terrible commission so I don't hold out much hope. They might not have officially passed the new rules but they have a history of making stuff up on the fly so who knows what the fighters were told during the rules meeting. Poirier might have a good case though... to be successful he would need to prove that Herb made an error (which he did when he considered the 1st knees legal if old rules were used).

The disunified rules of MMA. If Rogan is correct (which might not be the case) and that commission uses the old rules, then all of those knees are illegal. Poirier could appeal if that's the case and Herb made a mistake. Terrible situation for fighters and ref's with the rules right now.
  12. Got tons of MMA-related stories. Top ones would be when Mike Goldberg's girlfriend/wife grabbed my ass in an elevator right in front of him (she really just picked off something that was stuck to my pant leg but my version sounds better!) ? Matt Serra came to my hotel room & shot the **** for a few minutes the day before he had his rematch with GSP in Montreal. He was in the suite next door and my friend slipped a note under his door wishing him luck. He was grateful that we didn't try to disturb him or let people know where he was staying so he just wanted to say hello & thank us. Thought it was cool of him to do that when he really should have been resting & recovering from weigh ins.
  13. He announced his retirement about a month ago.
  14. I wonder if they see Michael Ritchott as someone with CFL potential (even if it's just as a back-up)? If that's the case, then they saved themselves a draft pick since he'd be a territorial exemption.
  15. Both Herdmans got drafted (Justin to Toronto & Jordan to BC). Matt Singleton is a free agent afaik.
  16. Waggoner has retired? Just one sentence at the bottom of the image in the tweet.
  17. The lawsuit that Arland Bruce filed against the CFL has been thrown out.
  18. It's a nice thing for his resume but when you look deeper, he only had one year a a starter with Alabama and was cut twice by NFL teams without even making it to training camp. The Redskins cut him after mini-camp last year & Detroit did the same a few weeks later. Adrian Hubbard won 2 national championships with Alabama and we saw how well he did up here.
  19. McCabe also went against the WH claims that Comey had lost support of FBI employees. http://www.mediaite.com/online/acting-fbi-director-contradicts-claim-that-fbi-lost-confidence-in-james-comey/
  20. Can we still use IMWT or did Joe Mack kill that one?
  21. Mark forum as read is a great feature!
  22. Stamps are losing OL to retirement at almost Rider-like pace. Lavoie & Craighead are both 1st round picks who retired at age 25 within 16 months of each other. You can also add in Tsoumpas who retired early a few years ago. Huff must have a few horseshoes wedged somewhere because it hasn't really seemed to affect them, we'll see how long that lasts.
  23. I caught part of an episode last week at a friends place and that was enough to convince me to give it a shot. This episode (I assume) was fairly deep into the series so my friend had to give me a basic run down & i couldn't believe I hadn't watched it before. Looking forward to binging on it.
  24. I just finished season 2 the other day. We really enjoy the show and felt the same way you feel now (where will it go next season?). Season 2 isn't very old so I don't expect season 3 for a while.
  25. Looks like Foley has found himself a home. Wonder who picked him up?
