Walters said after the draft that they are going into training camp tentatively with eight Canadian starters on the depth chart. I don't see that changing. 3 OL, 2 WR, 1 DL, 1 LB, 1 DB.

Fair enough. Why? His size and testing numbers indicate that he will potentially make a hell of a weak-side linebacker in the CFL. I believe that he could also play safety but that teams value a Canadian linebacker more than they value a Canadian safety (supply-and-demand), so the Bombers will do everything they can to make him work at that spot. Furthermore Richie Hall has a history of always using an import at safety and we have a really good one. The Bombers are clearly committed to starting a Canadian corner as well and it seems unlikely to me that they would start two Canadians in the secondary.

Not necessarily. He may be taking Bucknor or JFGs spot as a starter. Further to that, he is not taking the spot of an American, he would be allowing us to put a veteran import elsewhere in the lineup. Hurl's job is not the one on the line. He won't play safety in the CFL. Unless your name is Mike O'Shea or Richie Hall you are completely unqualified to make that statement. My opinion is that he won't play safety in the CFL

Sherman is borderline, Hurl is borderline, Bucknor is 30 (old for a CB), none of the rest have shown they can start. And you forgot Westerman and Thomas.

I don't see us starting a Canadian at safety. Let's just slow down. We didn't just draft a starter, and if we did, he is taking the spot of Hurl, not an American.

TL; DR version - The Bombers have their reasons, they have done nothing wrong, now shut up and wait until the Bombers say it's okay to cheer.

Babcock was reportedly strongly interested in acquiring Phaneuf at the trade deadline so I imagine he will stick around at least.
-
Yeah... I believe they all are.

Rebuilding is so hard in the NHL. Sure you can trade guys for draft picks but they take years to materialize. You gotta try and build around what you already have. Full-scale rebuilds just plain don't work.
-
I wonder if this guy can play like Craig Butler
-
Probably not Morgan but Newman might have just lost his job.
-
I don't know. I thought firing Carlyle was a mistake, he had them battling for a playoff spot. I think Babcock should be able to turn things around rather quickly.

There aren't any good ones, don't worry.

Sounds like it will be coach / GM dual role.

I have no idea how good this kid is, but man are expectations going to be high.

Bombers Blow Load, Draft Waggoner

He gets an extra month of vacation with the Leafs! Not my joke, saw it on Twitter lol.

Guilty as charged. Not this. Buff was ahead of Trouba on the depth chart to end the season. Fact, not opinion. The numbers say otherwise. No argument for any of this. I agree.

Is that what I said you diva? No it's not. I said Buff is not 3rd on the depth chart and there is no evidence to the contrary. And he didn't just play more in the playoffs, he played more all season. Just because you wish something was true really, really hard, doesn't make it so. Ok now let's hear some story about how you used to wrestle and the cops gave you a hard time and how that proves Buff is the 3rd pairing D. I love that you read every thing I write and yet are so angry and bitter! hahahahaha It's what you implied. If you have nothing to add, why bother? I even went to the trouble of getting the information YOU mentioned. Try common sense. It might help with your poor attitude and make for a more enjoyable experience here. By the way, next wrestling show is next Saturday May 30th. I wont be wrestling, sorry to disappoint you, but you might enjoy the show since you're a fan. Ha so basically you were wrong but just can't admit it. Wonderful! And I already have a very enjoyable experience here, thanks.

You keep saying this, about Byfuglien being 3rd on the RHD depth chart but it's not true. Maybe next year it will be true. Maybe it's true in your mind right now. But Byfuglien played more minutes than Trouba in every playoff game, and even more than Myers at times. So, until proven otherwise, Buff is not 3rd on anyone's depth chart except your own.

Yeah you're right we should be thanking the Bombers for granting us such an incredible privilege every year. Or maybe they should be thanking the fans for giving a **** about them, unlike the fans of 3 quarters of the teams in the league.
-
Ya know, at this point, I've heard the same thing over and over again from the Bombers. They're doing everything they can to chase away young fans. With the Jets back in town, the Bombers should be bending over backwards to please people, instead they're the ones asking the fans to bend over. It's one issue after another, it's unprofessional, and it kills the team's credibility.
