Did not think the sacks were THE problem last night. Sacks AND pressure. They go hand in hand with each other. If Willy has time to do his job this game isn't even close.
-
Something to keep in mind going forward - Indy was down three inside linebackers during the game so Henoc got a lot of playing time. It will be interesting to see how he fairs when they get those bodies back, assuming they aren't long term injuries.

You can certainly blame them for the last one. Quite easily in fact. You can also blame them for the sack/fumble that resulted in the touchdown as well. Had the line done their job on that play there is no touchdown and there is no Washington fumble either on the return after. That's 10 points. We lost by 6. Simple concept.

I'd ask Taman what he wants for Allen for sure. I doubt that will happen though. Not being critical of Walters with that comment but you rarely see backs traded, and O'Shea has given no indication he is unhappy with Grigsby.
-
Have to laugh that Ford retweeted this comment considering he was benched for the large majority of the second half: Tyson Craney @hellbillyphd 7 yds rushing for Grigsby tonight, good thing y'all cut @_GODSWILL2886_ Wpg lol Retweeted by Will Ford

Jackson had only one decent return that I recall. Lirim's punt went to the middle of the field and Jackson took it to the sideline up alone the Bomber bench. If I was grading Lirim tonight I'd give him a B for his work tonight for that, plus the illegal kickoff out of bounds he had.

In his prime, no doubt. Reid hit that "running back wall" as hard as anyone I can remember in the CFL when it happened though.

I don't think anyone is calling for heads to roll. That would be beyond stupid. This team is on the up and up, that can't be questioned. We lost to the Grey Cup champions by 6 points when Chick essentially had a field day and we had 6 picks. We'll be fine - no panic here. I just thought it's some good food for thought to consider who we have lost to and what those teams do best which is rush the passer.

Why is Washington still returning punts?
Mr. Perfect replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I really hope this is just O'Shea not wanting to publicly throw Washington under the bus. I might call into the CJOB coaches show this week and respectfully challenge O'Shea on this; this madness with Washington on returns has to stop. Don't quote me on these numbers, but based on my recollection, Washington has 4 returns this year; one for a TD and three for fumbles. Please do. I'd be curious to hear his response. Unfortunately the next show isn't until Wednesday, the day after the Argos game. -

Keith McCullough @keithsportsnews 30m Asked O'Shea if Demond Washington would return kicks again, he said yes. Told me 'Demond Washington is probably the best athlete we have'. -
Glad I'm not the only one that sees the similarity. To me they are a mirror image of each other, especially during Reid's last year and a half or so.
-
It doesn't help. No denying that whatsoever. Second and long is a defensive lineman's dream which ties into my original post.
-
Or a returner that doesn't fumble half of his touches.

Our two losses have come against teams currently ranked first and third in getting after the quarterback, maybe first and second by the time this week is over. If you pressure the QB, turnovers will follow. It happened on the sack/fumble and on the second pick as well. Saskatchewan played a textbook football game and they won doing it. Time to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves up and get ready for Toronto. Sucks to lose tonight but we'll be fine.

LAPOLICE: TECHNOLOGY AND FOOTBALL TODAY
Mr. Perfect replied to yogi's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I highly doubt that to be true. I recall listening on one of his coaches shows here that he said something to the effect that Any Given Sunday was the worst football movie he had seen. -

I believe I said 6-12 in my preseason prediction. Looking at our schedule going forward I'm hoping for 11-7.

So what have we learned after week 6?
Mr. Perfect replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Regarding the receivers - No one was able to get them the ball. Not a reflection on them, and the new additions (Kelly, Moore) had previously been shown to be quite valuable when used properly. As for Denmark, when given a chance in past years he has been productive. As for Peach and Kuale - Peach has been good, yes. In fact I was one of the people advocating for him in the offseason. That being said he is nowhere close to Alex Hall. Kuale is nowhere close to Muamba either. If the team keeps doing what they should be doing, as they've been doing so far, the last four games of the year won't be a make or break like you suggest. There will be bumps in the road here and there. There is for any team. That being said this team is being run like a professional organization for the first time in who knows how long. That's the real difference both on and off the field. -
Nothing against Kohlert but I'd probably take him out. I like him but I don't see how you can take JFG out, and Watson simply brings more to the table than Kohlert. It's too bad because I'm definitely a fan of his but Watson offers more overall when you factor in his blocking ability.

Something to monitor as the week goes on... CFL News @CFL_News 1m Chamblin:"(We have) a lot of concerns. A lot of injuries. We'll have to check on those." via @CKRMRiders #CFL #Riders

But, but, but....why didn't we just pay the money for Henry Burris?
-
Eagerly awaiting the inevitable Ford questions even though his two touchdowns have been from two yards out.

Frank Burris appears to have gotten the start tonight for Ottawa.
