Poll: Who Should be the Bombers' New DC?
Noeller replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Any thoughts that MOS may be hesitant to bring in an experienced co-ordinator with time as HC, for fear of having a potential successor looking over his shoulder? -
...Exactly.
-
Is there a breakdown of sacks attributed to the OC vs the OL coach, or, God forbid, the players...?
-
Our offense was great at the start of the year...again, injuries made it look worse as the season went on and we didn't have the depth to keep up.
-
The quote about player personnel is being taken completely out of context. I listened to the presser, and MOS said that he has always had the final say on player personnel. People just seemed to believe that Etch had final say, but MOS says he has all along and that won't change going forward...
-
So, anyhow, the MOS presser is on now...... Sounds like the decision was all MOS's......at least according to him. Lawless tried to bait him into the whole "Stopping the run doesn't matter" thing, and MOS says that was only an issue for media and fans. Says he wanted to make a lot of changes for next year, and Etch just wouldn't be able to believe in all of those changes, so they had to part ways. Bringing Bellefuille back because it would be detrimental to Drew Willy to change coordinators and make him learn a whole new system again.
-
Etch looked like a world beater early in the year, when our D starters were still healthy. As we suffered a ton of injuries and our complete and utter lack of depth was exposed, Etch's D *seemed* worse and made him look worse than he should have. Really unfair situation, and I feel bad for both him and his family, but such is life. As long as it's a proven-successful replacement, I'm cool with it.

Huzzah for the shopkeep...great news, especially funny for all those saying that the Derek Jones signing was because Walters "knew" that Bucknor wasn't returning. Sigh.

With the sheer volume of nerds proven to be members of this community, it's really funny to see what happens when girls show up here. Like an early-season ep of Big Bang Theory...... -
Well that's pretty cool. Thanks dude...

I don't know how to post videos, but at this exact moment I'm listening to Dolly Parton's "Winter Wonderland".....nobody belts it like ol' Dolly...

Calling bullshit on Wild being too small to play MLB every play. He may be smaller than the the prototype but the guy is just a damned good tackler and he is a guy who you notice when he's not in the lineup. He gets all over the field and is always involved in the play. This team needs more guys like that not less. Sears is hurt a lot and it is a concern, but when he's in the lineup he's a star. A flat out playmaker. Not at all comparing them as players, but the "negative" talk around Wild is errily reminiscent of Wickman....
-
I honestly have no clue what you guys are talking about...
-
Wish nothing but the best of luck fulfilling a dream and making a ton of bank for a few solid guys and great ball players. It's all you can do...
-
Congrats DoD. Welcome back...
-
They also worked together at Cal too. Ya I may have misunderstood the tweets referring to Cal, and assumed it was Stampeders. I assume you guys are talking about some other American team?

Back to the original topic of BC HC, rumours that Jeff Telford (??) close to being named HC. As an aside, he and Cortez worked together in Calgary...

Korey Banks: I hate Winnipeg, I hope they never win anything again
Noeller replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Let's take the DC out of the equation. If a veteran player is asked to play more of a "mentor-back up role" by any coach, on any team, and he feels he can still play the game, why would he not accept that role…and play his way back onto a roster? There have been many instances where a player is asked to do just that…and he does it, all for the good of the team - you know, the reason why he's still employed and given another chance. That's a leader…and I would venture to say, a reason why he was brought here in the first place. Hell we can look at this past season for a couple examples. Alex Suber got hurt in preseason and lost his spot on the roster to a new guy playing well. We didn't hear a peep out of the guy about being unhappy and he didn't throw any hissy fits and quit, just showed up to practise and eventually got traded. Or Johnny Sears, got hurt, couldn't get back on the roster for ratio reasons. No bitching and moaning or quitting, just practised hard and waited for his chance to get back on the roster then played so well they couldn't take him out again. Part of being a football player is the professional part. Everyone on that team feels like they should be a starter, sometimes you have to put the team ahead of yourself and just work harder to get what you want. Sure but you think Sears is going to re-sign here after the way they treated him? No way. What exactly did they do to him? He got hurt and lost his spot. This is not an egregious event. I'd think he'll be more than happy to come back next year and he knows he'll be a big part of their plans, too... -
I've heard from really good sources that the players absolutely DESPISED Doug Berry, fwiw. One roster player was quoted as saying, after Berry got fired, "I knew I'd outlast that prick here..."
-
How do you know they didn't? Just because the media hasn't reported it/doesn't know about it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened. I, for one, prefer when stuff like this happens under the table, rather than in the public eye.

He may be unorthodox but until injuries hit hard, shining a light on the razor-thin depth, he was getting results. This is all about Banks showing his true colours... -
