The entire TEAM played better, and whether that's a result of being more confident having Pavelec in net, or it was just something that was eventually going to happen......who knows. At the end of the day, a win's a win. Take it and try to keep growing in the right direction. The entire team needs to be better defensively...it's not just the tending.

He needs a major rebound year. The stunning thing is Atkins today saying they fully expect him to play the whole year in RF.....Christ. His defense is the fastest declining thing about his game.

3rd string is always your development guy. Vet back up doesn't come here to sit 3rd on the chart. If you get a guy like Lulay or Glenn, they're #2 with a bullet. Ready to step off the bench at a moments notice...

They're not stupid... They will definitely try to bring in a vet, and I do hope it's Glenn. I think he's going to wait and see what's up with Sask first, but if there is no guaranteed starter gig available, he might come back on FA Day...

Meant to add to this thread, apparently Reinebold is the favourite to take Steinauer's gig in ham, moving up to DC from STC.

And yet with a deal based how you want it, you won't get players to sign it. There has to be significant base in order for him to take a lower overall number. Considerably less than other league starters.

Everything about him has been declining steadily and he's getting really old now, even by baseball standards...

The other thing about Buff is that you can't ever expect 82 games, or anything close to that, from a guy his size. He can't play at his best for more than maybe 50 games, because he just gets worn down too fast. If you can get top notch Buff for about half the season, and then 75% Buff for 1/4 and then Whatever He's Got Buff for 1/4......that's about the best season from the big man.

Hasn't shown anything 'cause he never sees the field. But he's younger, and in theory can still play, but who would know? It's worth looking into, but if he hasn't left by now, I just can't see him going to the Riders....why go to that gong show when you could stay with the Stamps and hide in the shadows?
