  1. Re-worked almost immediately after getting to Toronto last year, I believe...
  2. Actually the BEST thing to do @Mark H., if you ever get the chance, is go to Flatlanders Beer Fest. You can go sample (2oz) beers of all kinds of styles. That's what really helps you learn what you like and don't like...
  3. I think it just makes too much sense for him to go when the rights are up. Everything lines up well. If the Bombers win a cup in the next two years, and he could "go out on top" it would be the perfect Disney ending to an unparalleled career.
  4. Don't quote me, but I believe those are the same beer.....I want to say Waterloo and FG both owned by the same company (or used to be) and it's essentially the exact same beer. @17to85 is that right? Seems like it is....
  5. Try a Fort Garry Dark or a Half Pints Bulldog Amber.......to me, those are two solid craft beer options that can get your foot in the door. Once you've gone down the road, you can start experimenting with different styles you might like.
  6. ^^^ Both of those........he knew he wasn't going to start here, knew it was a ****-show in Regina and his odds of playing were far greater there. Can you blame him??
  7. From Regina Leader-Post: @murraylp Following More If you're interested my #RidersTC QB depth chart: 1. Glenn; 2. Bennett; 3. Brandon Bridge; 4. Vince Young; 5. Marquise Williams.
  8. disagree on the bolded......JFG doing JFG things is more than adequate. Our REC corps is just fine......if we magically came into a superstar NI Rec, that's fine, but it's absolutely not a desperate necessity, based on how we structure our roster.
  9. What neva?? No Nevaaaaaa!!!!!
  10. ha! No kidding...we'll have to head back and see if it's shitty now. Full disclosure: I am a taproom fanboi, and can be swayed on a beer by a really cool taproom. I *LOVE* the vibe of a good taproom. The gf and I have a plan for our next house, to have a basement that basically looks like a really cool taproom. So there is definitely a possibility that I've been my opinion on a beer gets skewed positive if I loved the taproom. That's on me, and something that would likely change if I was drinking a beer in a neutral site, for sure.
  11. There was a league BOG meeting where they decided to do away with the first round of cuts. There's just one round now, closer to start of season...
  12. Barn Hammer's "Grandpa's Old Wool Sweater" might be my favourite name for an Oatmeal Stout....one of the all time best beer names ever, IMO. Loved their space and when we did a sampler flight last summer, it was real solid. Definitely possible you guys got a bad batch when you were there, Mike. I'm a fan of Torque...the old lady gets that every chance she can. Haven't been to their shop yet...it's on the docket for this year, for sure.
  13. SammySam
  14. You know who's really pissed me off? Farmery. Making a ******* Hard Iced Tea. Jesus Christ.......but then they did a Red IPA or some **** as their last thing.....so I dunno what's up with those guys. They were never any hot hell to begin with, but still.....hard iced tea....get ******.
  15. Who was just saying they really wished that we'd gone after this guy in FA....??
  16. @BobIrvingCJOB Addison Richards having excellent camp with Bombers but now on the limp. Guy can't buy a break @EdTaitWFC Derek Jones working at safety with No 1 defence as Taylor Loffler not practising today
  17. As far as "deck beer" goes, I love the Sultana Gold.....the Tippy Canoe isn't bad either. The Blueberry thing can get ******....but I wish I got them in AB. Shame. Winnipeg, tho, as a city, is really getting a lot of breweries...lotta stuff seems to be popping up. Last summer we hit up Barn Hammer and really enjoyed it. I still haven't been down to that place at The Forks that has a solid beer line up...that'll be on the list for this summer, for sure.
  18. So you're saying that CJOB is insanely popular and everyone wants to advertise on there....?? The hell....
  19. Nichols is night and day better.......numbers be damned.
  20. My reaction to seeing this ^^^:
  21. Giving props to Jones for doing what any sane human being should do..........well, I suppose that is a step up for him.......
  22. I chime in on this thread with some level of irony, as I quit drinking at the end of March (temporarily for now, but we'll see how much weight I lose...) With that said, I think my favourite brewery at the moment is Lake Of The Woods Brew Co outta Kenora. They've always made great beers, and they've got a new one that I'm desperate to try when I come home in July:
  23. Dani was Li'l Blue 85 for awhile......both still rabid fans and ST holders......just don't do the messageboard thing anymore.
  24. Dandy is great -- Brewmaster is a grad of the Olds College Brewmaster program. They are the ultimate hipster beer. Blindman and Bench Creek are both fabulous, as well. Bench Creek (Edson, AB)'s "Naked Woodsman" (ha ha) is sensational! Blindman outta Lacombe makes some real solid stuff too. Spent Valentine's weekend with the girlfriend doing taproom tours, and hit up both Blindman and Bench Creek. Both are awesome breweries with quality beers...
