  1. and I get that for sure, but I think what I'm saying is that I'd rather just stay home and avoid people than go out and have to wear a mask....
  2. You can talk about venues all day long, but the issue for me is how do you play a contact sport like football where guys are constantly spitting and otherwise transmitting viruses to each other...? There is no way to play a sport like football safely. And all it takes is one guy testing positive and the whole thing is shut down, right? I'm still waiting for an answer to that one....for football AND hockey.
  3. They still make people look silly, no matter what's on em.... :s
  4. You definitely hate the TSN broadcasts a lot more than I do....
  5. Hunt apparently leaving both the RBs and 67s to focus more on the new soccer team in Ottawa...
  6. so based on that "expanded" playoffs, would Winnipeg make the cut?
  7. Yeah, I was saying the same thing about Kenney here in AB. The guy is a first class *******, for sure, but he's at least got the brains to understand that the health professionals are the ones who know what's going on and you have to listen to them first and foremost. Let the Chief Medical Officers of Health do their thing...that's what they're there for .
  8. there we go...I knew Jim wasn't right.
  9. Jim? Brad Hunt, I believe...
  10. Just as the league sets to go **** up, the Bombers are as financially healthy as they've ever been. "Rainy Day" fund, indeed....
  11. Pallister taking a beating.... he has not handled things well of late.
  12. I don't recall them ever doing it in a GC game....only regular season. Either way, there was quite a bit of negative feedback. Cuthbert alluded to it on Twitter during the Super Bowl. I'd be surprised if we see it during a GC game again....
  13. Suitor is a superfan of the stars of Country radio........ he couldn't contain himself there. Still not his idea...it was a producer, and hopefully they learned their lesson. One of the greatest mistakes in Grey Cup broadcast history.
  14. I can't remember which play it was, but I vividly remember Cuthbert being in total awe, going "Man, what a game for #16..."
  15. Wildly disagree and argue in favour of Mike Jones.........for no reason other than I want to.
  16. well this is probably the best COVID related news I've ever read...
  17. Because I have nothing better to do, I'll vehemently disagree that Jefferson had a better game than Jones. I might re-watch the game (yet again...) this week and take some notes to justify my point. On top of the interceptions, I remember the break-up with the other Mike Jones near the goal line on what would have otherwise been a TD, and wasn't it Jones that took out Brandon Banks with the hip-shot, too? Anyhow, I'm fighting for Jones right now for no real reason...
  18. Jones had critical interceptions and knock downs. No question in my mind that he's the MVP, if not for Harris.
  19. I always see this, and think, "or is it that the generation previous (of which I'm a member) just wants to be able to say whatever they want about whomever they want, and have zero repercussions...?"
  20. not enough love around here for the game Mike Jones played in the Grey Cup... if not for Harris, Jones is hands down the CFL MVP.
  21. I'm not as concerned about the CFL not having a firm business plan for their initial meeting. Ambrosie explained prior to that meeting that they were just going there to say "Listen, we are totally and completely f***ed if you don't help us..." and that was about it. He just wanted to make sure they knew that. After that, then they'd go into the nuts and bolts and come back with something more official. I'm 75% confident this is all going to work out and the feds will find a way to keep the CFL going until there's a vaccine and fans can come back.
  22. I am so beyond stoked for the CJOB re-airings this long weekend.... the 40 pounder of Crown I bought at Costco yesterday is not likely to be enough...
  23. It was Demski's run that had me feeling comfortable, but once we realized that Streveler couldn't be stopped (even with a crippled leg) that was it. Calgary just had no chance.
  24. During the west semi, 17to85 and I were sitting in our seats in the top row, along the 55....at half time we kinda went "this is good....we're in this thing..." and sure enough, after keeping it close in the 1st half, they busted it wide open in the second half. It was a lot of fun to be at.
