reports were that the vote was to happen this hour, but CFL tweeting out that the vote is happening this evening. Guess we'll see....

already lots of complaining online about this.... really curious to see how the vote goes. Should have an answer "fairly soon".....

I agree with Jamie Nye in that I like the incentivizing playing Canadians (getting an extra 2nd rounder for team with most "Canadian snaps") but again with "who's going to keep track of all this??"

One thing I've been thinking about is the lack (??) of Canadians who play football at a high enough level in this country, overall, and what happens if we add a team in the Maritimes? Then all of a sudden you need ____ number of Canadians to fill out that roster, as well. I know that's a "tomorrow problem" but still something to think about. Do we have enough Canadians of high enough quality to fill out 10 rosters in this country? Don't get me wrong, I'm always going to advocate for Canadians in the CFL...that's my priority, personally........but it's something I think about.

Yes, I believe it was Naylor who tweeted it out. The league's position is that they need to have less Canadians in order to improve the quality of the game, which would then increase revenues.

it's about precedent....they lose one now, then next CBA lose another, maybe 2.... and eventually it's at 0 Canadians. I stand by the players who refuse to start this ball rolling. I just really hope there's a way to get the owners on board with it.

again, this has never been about "watching the best football possible" because that's what the NFL is for. This league, to me, is about showcasing Canada and Canadians. As far as I'm concerned, the Americans are just here to fill out the rosters because there aren't enough Canadians...

I'm wildly in favour of clinging to the ratio...I'm here for the Canadian content, period. I'm just really hoping they can find a way to make the owners happy while maintaining the Canadian content. I have much less interest in a league that slowly whittles away their CanCon..... Some interesting quotes here:
