  1. that was a good chat, the SB66 one..... some fun audio. Paddy's was fun, too. Says he's an elite level swimmer...I don't particularly want to even imagine that.
  2. The other thing is, it's easier for a quality, winning franchise (us) to poach a top quality Tackle in FA if need be...
  3. Fwiw, someone told me yesterday that the reason teams didn't pick him up off waivers was because of the contract....? If they'd picked him up off waivers, he'd have to be paid his NHL $$ but if they get him from the Moose then it's cheaper....?? AHL $$ or some such.... I don't know enough to know enough but that's one of my hockey nerd buddies talking...
  4. Drew Desjarlais comes back, you find a way to make room...
  5. I actually flew home to attend the one in Winnipeg, as it was around my birthday, and it was a really fun time. Would love to do that again.

  7. A bit of good news....
  8. All of the platforms (even Twitter as of the latest update) now defaulting to the "For You" (algorithm-based) feeds is a plague on society...
  9. My wife has 2 InstaPots and 2 air fryers....both get used a LOT in our household. The air fryers do up appies better and faster than anything...
  10. I gotta admit....this fascination within society to turn the 90s into a "thing" drives me crazy...... I mean, Jesus, are we truly that far removed from it.....? (Don't answer that please....)
  11. One of my first Genesis games was NHL 97, and these are the jerseys they wore in that game. The jerseys worn when Owen Nolan "called his shot" on the breakaway...
  12. Yes Great Bear is the stuff of legends. I've read some stuff from guides who worked up there. That is almost mythical! Again, though, give me NW Ontario in June, when the bass are huddled up in fallen timber, and let me toss a Rebel Pop-R over the brush.....pop.....pop.....SMASH. The best feeling.
  13. oi oi oi oi.....I really want to try and stay out of this, because it's honestly just so silly. 97% of people around here more-or-less agree on the same things.....but the 3% come in here and tell us we're all wrong. I get a big chuckle, as well, because I suppose I'm part of the "Lame Stream Media", that tries to sit right dead centre, but I admit I can see how people on the Right can see Middle as Left. All I was saying was that I was surprised to see someone come in here with a take that was so opposite of what MOST people on here believe in....
  14. The 90s, amirite.........
  15. Everything I've ever read is that Clearwater has better numbers (more fish, but generally smaller), but Athapap has the overall BIGGEST Lakers, just that it's a really tough grind because you can spend all day and only get one or two bites, and you have to make them count.
  16. I'm not a big trout guy... One day I'd like to put in the grind for an Athapap 50" Laker, but it's not really my jam. Top water bass is my #1 jam, and hunting 30" walleye is close behind. I could spend all day every day targeting those... Pike, as they should be, are always a -1 on the board.
  17. This place is generally so sane and middle-of-the-road that I actually forgot there were crazies on here occasionally. Just wild.
  18. TIL.... Brandon is completely loony tunes... Yikes.
  19. You know Wade Miller runs this whole damn league!
  20. This should really be the end of the discussion right here ^^^
  21. You're right...Military is a bad comparison. People who enter the military make a choice to do so. The LGBTQ+ community doesn't make a choice...it's how they were born. They deserve far more respect.
  22. It's not politics.... It's religion, which is ******* RIDICULOUS in this day and age and no excuse for being an ******* and hating on minorities. The league is supposed to be all about this Hockey Is For Everyone thing, but then you get religious assholes who ruin it for everyone. The great line I heard was "what if it was military appreciation night, and someone decided to protest it? Can you imagine the uproar in the states???" How on earth is it okay to protest LGBTQ+ in 2023?!?!
  23. All the opinions about Eli, at the time, were 100% accurate and fair. Crazy anti vaxxers (religion is no excuse for bad behaviour) bailing on your team before a Grey Cup game.... That's a major problem and red flag. I'm surprised the team (the players) would be so willing to welcome him back, but as we've all said, he's a damn good player that we could really use.
