  1. I don't hate Commonwealth, as a stadium. Certainly a far cry better than McMahon. The biggest issue with it, again just IMO, is that damn track, which sets the fans even further back from the field. It's also far too big for the CFL. I know they like having it for big events, but it can be cavernous for a CFL game.
  2. yeah I neglected James, much to my chagrin..... (I'm better than that... not by much, but by a little....) and I think you're right that the debate is between those two for the 5th spot.
  3. Reaves comes up often enough.... likely a Top 5 guy. Harris ChuckBob Reaves Lewis Hanson Probably fair right?
  4. I go back and forth on it, but I can't imagine being with someone who doesn't share the same passions. On the other hand, it might be nice to have something that's just yours and gets you away from them for awhile. S'posin' it depends on how much you enjoy being around your significant other...
  5. because it's not much of an event.... there was some talk about it on Twitter from the league and CIS, but there will be a lot more next week at the actual combine in Wpg.
  6. the thing is, it's not just the mocks.... it's anything from 3DN that isn't just breaking news on Twitter. Anything where they actually have to write a column, comes off like a 16 year old in their basement. We have far better writers with more insight into the CFL on this board....
  7. my first set of cards is the 1988 O-P-C MLB set. Some really cool stuff in there. Then got into hockey cards with the same 1991 OPC NHL set that everyone on the planet has. In more recent years I have some CFL cards, but I'm more into collecting jerseys right now. I have so many different Bombers styles from over the years. Our basement is quite the shrine right now and we're always checking eBay for what's out there...
  8. Not sure it's a "hobby" (we take it a lot more seriously than that) but my wife are extremely into fishing 12 months of the year. It's painful living in Alberta at the best of times, but when you factor in our passion for fishing, it's that much worse. Last year (2022/2023) we took our ice fishing to the next level and started ice camping. It's been a lot of fun. I work too much during the winter, and the best fishing spot close to us is about 3 hours away, so we don't get out as often as we'd like, but we have a ton of fun when we do. For the summer, we DID have a little 14' Lund with a 25hp Evinrude (...lesson learned: Friends Don't Let Friends Drive E-Tec's...) but sold it when it was being too much of a hassle. We decided we're going to wait until we move back to MB (likely not too far off) before we buy our next boat... an 18' tiller with a nice big dance floor up front. There's just no sense in AB because you have to haul the damn thing for hours to get anywhere "fishable". In MB you can be on the water in minutes.... some places you can even leave the boat docked up for the summer so you can just jump in and go. That's the dream. Anyhow, yeah.... fishing fishing fishing. Obsession.
  9. cool cool that they cover it.... now do it well.
  10. all this talk about Hodge's mock draft sucking....... what else did people actually expect? Dunk mock MAYBE..... but seriously, it's the same thing every year. There are like half a dozen people on this site capable of putting together a mock draft as well or better than Hodge and most of the fan-zine crew....

this is the only correct take.
  12. As always, huge thanks to @EdTait for putting this together...
  13. Add the ol' bear to the list.... Bless that man.
  14. the thing about Collaros was consistency. He had at least a couple of games where he looked like his old self and tore the other team a new *******.... and then there were games where it looked like time finally caught up with him..... not sure if we can expect more regression, or if it's an aberration...??
  15. IT WAS A COMBINATION OF SEVERAL TWEETS COMPILED!!! (.....but yes I stole information off Twitter, and my "apparently" at the end is the acknowledgement...)
  16. TT has 26 goals, which would have him tied for the team lead with Connor... that's a good pick up. Picks returning... likely 2nd and 3rd, apparently.
  17. not saying this necessarily means anything, but DB contract is 2 years... just as Collaros contract ends. Who knows........?

Dunstone is very VERY good... just having a bad week. He's still easily the best Manitoba men's curler we have right now. And honestly, Canada is so far behind everyone else in the world right now, it's not going to matter much anyhow. Italy, UK, Sweden... all better than us right now.
  19. Bobbled the puck it seemed like. Didn't settle down on his stick. So close.

Dunstone has been **** all week. Not sure what's up with him/them but they're a way better team than what they've shown. Carruthers/Jacobs are over performing. It IS however lovely to see Koe shitting his pants. Need Douchue and Bottcher to follow suit...
  21. Ronnie King of The Stampeders (such an unfortunate name) passed away. Lotta hits from that group over the years... have always loved Minstrel Gypsy and, of course, Sweet City Woman was huge. They're apparently going to continue with previously planned "Final" tour....
