  1. plus I would hope they're bringing up some NFL cuts at receiver who might actually be able to crack the roster.
  2. must mean you write a lot of stupid bullshit.
  3. IMWT. Look if Bell came on board in 2002 he's been here through some of the shittiest years for this club, why are we lamenting him being shown the door? Being a nice guy is great but maybe he's not good enough for what Miller wants to do? Gotta trust the guy because so far he seems to know what he is doing.
  4. absolutely. you add someone at the level of a Dressler and I'd have no problems calling the Bombers receivers tops in the league. IMO Dressler is over-hyped, over-rated and soon to be over-paid. His biggest season was 2012 when he gained 1,206 yards and most seasons he's right around 1,000 yards. He does not rank with CFL greats such as Steegal, Simon or Allan Pitts. if the bar you're setting is 3 of the best ever, then no **** he's not at that level, no one playing in the CFL currently is.

  6. Johnson they seemed pretty high on based on pre-season and early season but I think Steele and Slaton just out performed him in the regular season. Same with Sinkfield, looked interesting in pre-season but other guys did more in the regular season.
  7. Gavin Walls or Ike Charlton from that same era? one of the Mals at db? Really weren't a lot of long time big name types given the ones you've eliminated already.
  8. I am not sure if I can agree with that... I think we've got an OK group of receivers but top 2 or 3? I dunno. If everyone is healthy I probably put Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton and BC ahead of Winnipeg.
  9. We've been saying for a long time now that AK19 is a glorified Brazzell... I am not prepared to say Kelly is better than Brazzell at this point.
  10. yeah Glenn got a bad rap, he was what he was, good but not elite. Nice transitional guy. There's really a lack of options for that style jersey though since so many of the teams were so bad. You might have to look at names from the 2007 team?
  11. Semi-related: I have one of these....the first year Reebok took over after Puma....and it's unstitched, whcih drives me nuts. So 17to85 and I have been in discussions as to who I should get stitched on there. I have a Doug Brown jersey, a Khari jersey, a Milt autographed jersey that hangs on the wall only....got a Stoddard one awhile back....would Brian Clark be appropriate? Maybe Wickman? Kevin Glenn
  12. But cutting Mills doesn't give you more receivers on the field all the time, and it's very likely that if they had kept him that Geroy Simon wouldn't have developed into the player he became. He would have still been 2nd fiddle at best to Stegall, he would have had to deal with the shitty quarterbacks post Khari and the shitty coaches post Ritchie.
  13. Let's see how good the west division is when they start playing each other before over reacting to one season why not?
  14. then why the **** are we so worked up about all the western teams having these great records? They've all done the majority of their winning against those bad teams too!
  15. Imagine if we had kept Milt, Bruce and Geroy together? Hindsight kills me sometimes. Considering the CFL was uncapped and Bauer forced Taman to a tight budget, I doubt that being possible considering the money that guys like Khari, Roberts, Sellers, Brown, and other elite players commanded at that time. I think people forget just how loaded that team was. Bobby Gordon might have been old, but he was a favourite target of Kharis in clutch time and you don't just cut that at the drop of a hat for a young guy with potential when you have another young guy loaded with potential in Arland Bruce already on the team. Plus you still had your super star SB in Stegall and a top RB in Roberts. There was still only one football around back then. I hate the comparison now because our defensive line right now isn't nearly as stacked as our receivers were back then.
  16. Bavarian purity laws? Which were nothing to do with actually making quality beer but a law about making sure wheat went into bread not beer? There's some damned fine wheat beers out there so to hell with Bavarian purity laws. Plus yeast is pretty useful in making beer as well.
  17. Sigh...Kelly has proven to be spectacular when used and invisible when not. The priority should not be in replacing him but in how to use him more frequently. Except that the book on Kelly is that he goes invisible for long stretches... Safe to say he doesn't get open all that often. Guy has good hands and a big frame but that's about all he has. Just doesn't look like the kind of player who can get himself open night in and night out.
  18. Who was it made the thread about the RTP calls apparently working to keep qbs healthy? Obviously they jinxed it.
  19. But what kind of beer? There's so many types with different flavours.
  20. Nah they just wanted the easier road for their babies to make the playoffs. Easier to make the playoffs in the 4 team division. Let's be perfectly honest here, the east is the weakest part of the league in terms of fan support, if you even risk having all those teams playing 2nd fiddle to the Bombers in the division it's not good. Playoff games in Ontario or Montreal are needed. **** the prairies, they support the team no matter what.
  21. He's either looking for the biggest payday he can get or he goes to the team he won a championship with and has that familiarity with the coaches and quarterbacks and etc etc etc. You either back a truck full of money up to the guy or he's going to Saskatchewan.
  22. and by hipster beer what you really mean is good beer right? Cause all the mass produced pilsners are fizzy yellow water. Can't blame people for demanding more from a beer. like raspberry flavouring? Something no one needs from a beer. The beers with fruit in them are for chicks. Which is why I don't get Raspberry Porter. "Chicks" don't typically drink Porter and guys don't drink Raspberry. Tree does this and it drives me nuts. I used to be able to get the Porter without the Raspberry and it was really good. Don't know WTF it is with the Raspberry. Cherry porters are a big thing too and I just don't get it.
  23. Doubt it costs them a penny as BC Place has expanses of empty seats every game. All it means is that every season ticket holder gets to bring a buddy with him to one of the four remaining home games and the walk-up crowd gets to fill an empty seat in another game. Increases local exposure to the product and generates more peripheral revenue so it's a win even when they lose. whether it costs them money or not they can chalk it up to marketing expenses. Paper the house a bit and maybe a few of those people keep coming back. It's a way to get asses in the seats and that's the important part for teams.
