  1. Hank is too much ego that's the problem there. Guarantee that part of the reason he signed in Ottawa was because he saw himself as the saviour who would lead this expansion team to glory and hey, gettin paid. at the same time. Guy is just an egomaniac.
  2. Sure it is. People are who they are I really dislike people who try and behave to fit in when they're really a **** head.
  3. The bottom line with that BC game was they did the one thing you can't do, they let Glenn get into a rhythm and get confident. That's just asking to lose.
  4. I agree the media there sure gets after the team. But I will say as a Rider fan I wish our media asked some friggin questions sometimes that the fans really would like to know the answers to. O'Shea had a tough post game presser after the labor day game, thought he handled it fairly well. Its a fine line sometimes between the media being too tough and being pom pom wavers. They don't ask hard questions though, they ask stupid questions. There is a really big difference. That's the big problem we all have with the media, it's not that they're hard on the Bombers, it's that they're stupid on the Bombers. Asking hard questions is fine, but they rarely do that. Gary Lawless asks leading questions. He's figured out the response he wants in advance and tries to lead the people into answering the way he wants. Wiecek wishes he could be back at the race track or curling rink so he just throws **** and hopes it sticks without knowing anything about the sport he's covering, Paul Friesen spends his time staring into his toilet looking for **** to disturb. With Ed Tait moving to the Jets the press covering the Bombers really are a bunch of hacks.
  5. well that all depends, see back in the day the internet wasn't as ubiquitous as it is now.
  6. Then why the **** did he go to Ottawa in the first place? And what makes him think that he can be a Grey Cup champion again (for only the 2nd time in a very long career) when he failed to accomplish anything in the playoffs so often throughout his career? Because there were no starter openings in Saskatchewan, BC, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. There was in BC
  7. He probably would. Honestly I think Sears could be an upgrade on almost all of the guys in the secondary or linebacking corps except for a few guys.
  8. Its a thread from a few months ago regarding a new $300M stadium that is currently under construction. Should I have started a new thread? yes On many forums, this one included, members are urged to find an existing topic to post in rather than starting a new one. The worst forums are the ones where new discussions get buried in ancient threads. You got something to talk about put it in a current thread or start a new one. Threads that have been dead and buried for as long as this one should stay there.
  9. There are lots of options, win our upcoming game against BC we take the season series against them then we only need to make up one game on them. Edmonton or Sask could fall and the Bombers make up games on them. About the only team they can't really finish ahead of is Calgary (though technically it's still a possibility)
  10. well you are missing a game in there since it hasn't been played yet but I find it highly unlikely that those three teams wind up tied.
  11. Hamilton is starting to turn it around with Collaros, they'll be tough to beat. Contrary to popular belief, beating the Riders with the backup qb in the game does not mean that the ti-cats are suddenly super team. Hell the Argos beat the Riders when they had Durant in the game, maybe they're the ones who are tough to beat?

  13. why puts quotes around big uncaring city? There is a very clear divide between the priorities that Winnipeg has and what rural Manitoba has. Their voting patterns illustrate that quite nicely. Winnipeg having over half the population of the province basically runs roughshod over the rest of the province and there is rightly some resentment about it.
  14. Trying to actually gauge performances in a rookie tournament... yikes. You know this tournament isn't really an indicator of a hell of a lot because of how disorganized the on ice stuff is? Best you can get is some guys showing their individual skills. It's really just a way to get the rookies on the ice against their peer group rather than just throwing them into the mix in training camp against the veterans.

  16. metaphor [met-uh-fawr, -fer] noun 1. a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to somethingto which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest aresemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”. Compare mixed metaphor, simile (def 1). 2. something used, or regarded as being used, to represent somethingelse; emblem; symbol.
  17. How does someone your age become an Oilers fan? Is it purely because of Eberle and rah rah Regina? Cause even 2006 you'd have been just a wee little tyke and that team was all downhill from there.
  18. which is the crux of the issue, we didn't bring in any good candidates in camp. You know who else beat out all those guys? Old man Romby Bryant who beat them without having to even be in training camp.
  19. Did he not start the year playing linebacker? It's a shame they have to play Bucknor and Sherman for the ratio because Sears would be a massive upgrade at either spot.
  20. Franc was minding his own business and thanks to you, another piss match was started. Good job.People like you are exactly why I want to smash my head against a concrete floor at Home Depot. Well that certainly explains a lot. Feel free to bang your head against that floor until it knocks the Rider fan out of you. Was he really minding his own business when he called me a gutless troll. If you want to come to his defence because he is your Rider brother-in-arms go ahead...I would expect nothing less. Don't spin fiction to justify it though. The guy gets the gears here because of the drivel he shovels about our team. We know the crap he peddles over at Riderfans and hold his feet to the flame because of it. That will never change....at least on my part. Wanna talk smack about our team behind the safety of the home forum mods go ahead. Just know that if you do and then come here afterwards you will be called out on it. If that makes you want to bang your head on a concrete floor that's just added bonus. Please put a watermelon on and videotape it for our chuckles. What I saw was mfranc making an innocent post about Willy and you lashing out at him.Yeah sure. Actually he was talking out his ass about something he knew nothing about and someone called him on it And the best way is to respectably disagree, not start an argument. Respectfully disagreeing implies some level of respect though...
  21. Well, if he has the same performance has last game, quite possibly. I really wish Sunseri was pulled in the last game to try out the other QBs when we knew the game was over. Now we have no clue if the others are any better than Tino. You'd just be putting Doege in a position to fail throwing him into a game when he had limited reps in practice. You wouldn't get any kind of read on how good or bad the guy actually is. If they plan on potentially using him because of Sunseri's lack of production, they need to get him more reps in practice this week, but it's a catch-22 cause Sunseri obviously needs the work too if he's going to play. Welcome to not having a starting QB. Yeah. You gotta live or probably die with Sunseri for this week. Pulling him would have no positive effect on Sunseri, Doege, or the Riders. If the decision to change them up comes it should wait until after the Ottawa game and give Doege a full week of starter reps. I think they have to stick with Sunseri until Durant is back regardless. This is the guy they tapped to be the successor to Durant, if you pull the rug out from him now you've just ruined him and possibly the guy behind him if he struggles too. Gotta ride it out for better or worse and support the guy.
  22. but it is Kellys fault that he doesn't get open very much. That's quite a feet too because when you're 6'5 you should always be open.
  23. Well, if he has the same performance has last game, quite possibly. I really wish Sunseri was pulled in the last game to try out the other QBs when we knew the game was over. Now we have no clue if the others are any better than Tino. They're not because they have less experience and the coaches don't just blindly assign guys to #2 and #3 positions. Sunseri is the back up because they've determined he is the 2nd best guy on the roster so what that means, is that if they start yanking him to put another guy in you've entered full on desperation mode. No team has some hidden gem at 3rd or 4th string that is going to come out of nowhere to wow people. You're too young to remember but when Ricky Ray came out of nowhere, he was the talk of the CFL based on preseason and was #2 coming out of camp and when he got in in place of Jason Maas he was instantly a smash hit. None of the Rider qbs showed anything like that, don't expect them to come in and suddenly be better. There is a reason that quarterback is the hardest position for teams to find a player at. It takes a very special situation for it to work. Most people felt the Riders did have a good situation for a player to succeed in because they have a good D and a good OL, but as we saw with Sunseri young players can often get hesitant if things start to go badly or the other defense makes them uncomfortable and things can quickly spiral out of control. Trust me on this one, again you're too young to remember the Riders having to do this but when you keep throwing qb after qb in looking for the instant fix you wind up ruining any potential your qbs might have. Agreed. I think many Rider fans have completely unrealistic ideas about how easy it is to develop a quality starting QB. Sunseri has about as good a situation as any backup could have hoped for and he looked absolutely lost out there. That kind of a performance does not get rectified in the span of a week. Sunseri is simply not ready. In a way they got very lucky with Durant. If he hadn't showed up and done what he did pretty much from the get go they might have been right there with the Bombers going through a million qbs looking for someone who didn't suck.
  24. Well he is going a good job on STs, but there has to be a way to get an impact guy like Sears on the roster.
