In today's cfl if you stand in the pocket you're going to get hit and are being asked to.
-
Even if someone steps in front at the last moment a guy with any concentration will know where the ball is going to end up. Our brains can process that information. Dbs have to disrupt the catching process.
-
I'd be shocked if collaros lasts a full game for this team. Our QBs are asked to stand in and take shots, that6bad for a soft headed guy like collaros. Seriously does lapo ever have a qb he doesn't get hurt?

How about going from a well paying job to having to work minimum wage in an u related field, or maybe not even having a career. This is the attitude that fuels resentment. I would be happy to make less working in oil and has, but there's no work so I am forced to try and transition, while also dealing with the stigma that exists with oil and gas people.
-
because things are very shitty here right now. People have lost jobs, people have had to change careers and take massive pay cuts, all the federal parties save the conservatives have spoken about ending oil and gas and generally just been shitting on Alberta. There is very real anger towards the rest of the country out here for very legitimate reasons. I mean the Bloc guy in his speech last night basically threw in a "**** you Alberta" for no reason other than to be antagonistic! That is how Kenney won. He played on that anger. The rest of the country just seems to ignore it though.

Burnham plays on a crappy team, that hurts him, and further to that neither Begelton or Burnham have tremendously eye popping stats. Yes good and been good all year, but milt only won MOP as a receiver for setting records. Andrew Harris is the obvious answer to west MOP, but like i said, the people on their high horses decided he was out of the running because of the suspension.
-
and calling it petulance is part of the problem. "Stupid Albertans, just vote Liberal" Just furthers the problem. Pierre Trudeau did serious damage to the Liberal brand that is undeniable but the Liberal party has never seriously tried to address that. they know they can win without Alberta or the west so they just carry on with is as a lost cause and conservative governments everywhere use those feelings to get themselves elected on anti Liberal sentiment.
-
and the conservatives and liberals have a lot of common ground too. That's the problem, some people equate NDP and Liberal like they're the same thing. They aren't, especially on matters of businesses. That's where the Conservatives and Liberals have a lot of common ground. But it's also dangerous to write off the conservatives as simply a hard right agenda. There are a lot of progressive people, especially out west who vote conservative because they feel ignored and betrayed by Liberal governments. It is perilous for the country for these people to be ignored. Things are very divided regionally in this country again and that's not a good thing. Time to stop the divisiveness from all parties and start working for the country as a whole, and yes that does include maintaining some semblance of an oil and gas industry like it or not.

oh yeah he is totally ****, but Trevor Harris got hurt and missed too much time, BLM got hurt and missed too much time, Arbuckle didn't get enough time with BLM coming back. The media loves to hang off the nuts of the riders so yeah I can see them giving the west MOP to Fajardo, but it'll be the most undeserved recognition ever.
-
Yeah Harris is obviously the MOP, but people decided when he was suspended they wouldn't vote for him so we will see an undeserving representative.
-
He was just working with what he had. Guys who couldn't stay in the pocket so he rolled them out and took the shorter throws. It was an offence built to try and keep Collaros alive and deal with Bridges limitations. With Fajardo he can do some different things but he's got him making quick throws on slants and things like that. Pretty safe stuff, limited decision making, limited deep shots on account of Fajardo isn't a good deep ball qb. The guy is like the opposite of Lapolice. Where Lapolice fits people into his scheme Macadoo seems to build something to maximize what he has.
-
As much as rider fans like to complain about mcadoo the guy does put in a system that helps mask his qbs deficiencies.
-
Tallest midget.
-
Imagine going all in on Cody Fajardo....

I remember one decent sized gain for the stamps, they had guys run deep to draw the dbs off and left bighill in one on one with a receiver, everyone else I assume was blitzing. That's the stupid **** that kills us on D. expecting the middle linebacker to cover a receiver one on one. Get out of here with that nonsense.
-
They also extended several calgary drives taking penalties. Had em stopped deep late in the game but took roughing the passer, rose got dinged for PI on a play he didn't need to (though I thought both guys were guilty of interfering with each other) There was another nothing pass interference that kept the stamps on the field early too.
-
I hope for his sake collaros doesn't play because lapolice will get him killed. Guy does not protect his qbs at all.
-
No he will be allowed, until the first turn over, then it'll be nothing but hand offs.
-
To me questioning the converts is missing the forest for the trees. The question should be, why can't we score more touchdowns period? Why can't we defend better and keep teams out of the endzone period. 2 tds on saturday came because of the D turning the ball over let us not forget.
-
I actually think McGuire is a guy who likes to heave it deep. Seem to remember him doing it a lot in preseason and his first try in calgary he went down field (and I really thought Lucky Whitehead held up on the route partway through and caused it to be over thrown.
-
haha it preceded Carmichael, it was during the time we were letting qbs like Jason Maas set consecutive completion records against us, so 2005 I guess.
-
Plus tanking this game fucks over the Riders so there's always that.
-
heck of a throw and catch, but he did literally nothing to disrupt it. If he had looked back at all he probably easily bats that down. I suspect that because he was getting beaten a lot that he was just focused on trying to run with guys. Years back we had a db was always close to the ball when receivers caught it but could never break up a pass. Forget his name but yeah, being close doesn't matter if you can't break passes up. Receivers in this league can make catches in traffic.
-
Well he probably won't play but not a benching but simply because he's injured and chances are the game won't mean a lot in the final standings and with the bye week in the final week of the season it gives that extra time for the guy to heal for the playoffs. Honestly I don't think Streveler was as bad as people think he was. Yes the int was not a good throw, but Bo Levi MItchell threw a pick and could have thrown another if Fenner had expected the ball to be that badly thrown, it happens in football. The problems with the offense are the same things they have been forever. Lapo has built an offense that relies on Harris and Streveler breaking tackles and dragging guys for extra yards or for Whitehead or Demski to out run guys on short passes and pick up yards after the catch. We don't really have an effective downfield passing game. They're slow and methodical on offense when it works and grind games out. It's fine when you have a lead or are early in a game with time to play that way, but when we need to score quickly this team has nothing.
-
He played that one terribly. He had an awful game in general. Gaitor getting healthy would help the D a ton.
