I don't know what winnipeg is like but I know Calgary is comparable to Munich and I think the Germans managed to brew ok... Hard water does lend itself better to malt forward beers where as soft water does make the hop character shine through more but even a ton of people who home brew adjust their water to the style they're making.

So for me moving from woogie to clercius is just identifying a young guy who is quickly surpassing the vet and moving on... which is what good teams do.... so what the **** is the excuse on defense at a couple positions?

let's be totally honest, most of the new IPAs these days are just dump a **** ton of hops in and make it taste like juice. bring back more of the classic west coast IPAs I say. The hazy ones have their place, but too many beers these days are neglecting the malt aspect of a beer.

What like 15 years ago? Bulldog was a fine option when options were limited but the style has progressed since then.
