  1. For what we're getting from Jones and Wilson we could easily swap one position to Canadian and use Americans else where... and j.jones may have lost his job i Toronto (injury related if I recall), but Tony Jones lost his job in edmonton to a rookie so why bring that up? The point is status quo isn't doing anything, time to see what else we have and if it's better great if not then keep looking.
  2. Linebackers isn't a problem, but it's not an answer either. They make tackles but they don't make many plays.
  3. But we've seen the same story play out for many games now. Giving the lions share of DL reps to guys way over 30 without much rest does that to them. It's like clockwork and totally expected. Bombers dominated with a heavy rotation on DL to wear teams out in 2019 onwards and everyone copied them. Now we're getting whooped with the blueprint that used to be the pride of this team. Watching the Hamilton back run untouched up the middle while Jake is huffing and puffing and kornelson is barely even a bystander on the play... sad. Also, we have no playermakers on defense. Tony Jones is making a lot of tackles, but no plays. Dbs aren't making plays, defensive line isn't making plays... I've got a lot to say about the offense too but we can't ignore the fact that the defense needs work too, just less work.
  4. Because once again the defensive line started out ok but was totally gassed by the 2nd half. So yeah they started out just fine but couldn't stop Hamilton run late in the game at all. Teams are doing to the Bombers what the Bombers used to do tonother teams. Just wearing them down and winning the game late.
  5. Honestly at minimum playing the best roster available would have gotten us 3 cups in 5 tries rather than 2.
  6. Then one game Jones got substantial playing time was probably the best defensive performance of the year...
  7. but if the coach is handicapping himself what good is a new GM? I mean you wanna say clean house because after 12 years or whatever it is things are stale a new a direction entirely is warranted sure I'll listen to that, but you can't stick with a coach who refuses to put his best roster on the field when things start falling apart and if you saddle a new gm with that then you're just asking for trouble and said new GM having to fire a coach eventually anyway. start at the bottom and work your way up. players, coordinators, head coach, then GM. That's how you go about assessing the issues.
  8. So if we're admitting the coach doesn't put the best roster on the field.... why start with the gm? How do we know he's not providing the tools to rebuild an aging roster when the coach won't make the transitions?
  9. so you just hand wave away the fact that the coach isn't using the pieces he has to the best of his ability... to what end? when you start trouble shooting things you don't ignore problems to look for bigger ones. You start by addressing the obvious ones and seeing what that resolves. first problem: put the best roster on the field and see where you are actually at and then you can properly address the other issues. your way is just back asswards.
  10. so then what the **** are you arguing about all the damn time?
  11. Just so we are clear here.... you're saying they're not playing the strongest lineup they can?
  12. sometimes... other times we had the exact same problems we've had this year. Yeah he had games like the west final, but that wasn't all the the time. guy isn't as consistent as he was several seasons ago. not paying him huge money wasn't the mistake. the mistake is in what replaced him.
  13. Yeah typical football player stuff. "I'm insulted because they didn't pay me everything I wanted" Lawler is a hell of a football player, but he's always been looking out for #1
  14. Exactly my point. Expecting old players to play that much is just a bad idea.
  15. And most of our guys are way on the wrong side of 30 too.
  16. And last years defense was much much better than this years...
  17. Ok... so do it. Ayers comes off for one easy. Upgrade DL performance. Does it impede special teams? Maybe but enough to sacrifice the play of the defence which is on the field much much more... doubt it. Put Jones in for either Jones or Wilson I don't really care, neither one are difference makers at this point. Want to ride ourselves of Jake? Well we drafted some linebackers this year, let them play and bam we got the other American linebacker off and have a much stronger DL.
  18. Riders culture has been one of spoiled assholes for a long time. Always making dirty plays and whining it's not dirty.
  19. At least 5 linebackers on the roster who won't take a snap on defense... brilliant
  20. The other thing about that clip... man we could use a quick release like Glenn had these days. Let us not forget his burning of Davin Bush for 4 tds.
  21. And as much as the OL isn't helping... the play he got hurt on was all him. They rushed more than bombers had blockers and in that situation it's on the qb to recognize it and NOT stand there oblivious to the guy coming in to blast him.
  22. Hogan is basically "we've got lapo at home "
