  1. Glad to see Sammy Brown is still here. I hope I'm not jinxing him.
  2. I was 21 in the 60's, a year after "The Summer of Love" to be precise. I really can't remember but then there's a saying "If you can remember the 60's, you weren't there."
  3. Because Wojt is injured, on their current depth chart Tyson Pencer is their starting left guard.
  4. I guess it's worth noting that neither Bud Grant nor Mike Riley ever had a winning season like that. How did we ever let Kelly get away?
  5. Don't be so pessimistic. Somebody's got to be Rookie of the Year.
  6. And to think that we drafted him in 2008 but Kelly released him before training camp in 2009  .
  7. Yeah, people on the Riders forum, who had seen him play, were not dissing him. Which you know, they normally do for anyone who signs with the Bombers.
  8. Not a chance. When was the last time you saw someone wear #11?
  9. It goes sequentially and I believe each GM knows the previous highest bid. Another good article from 3downnation: http://3downnation.com/2015/05/19/waggoner-set-to-become-3rd-generation-cfler-thanks-to-moms-twitter/
  10. I like to know why they can't use the old Bisons stadium just the other side of Ken Ploen Way.
  11. This is one of the saddest "highlight" packs I've ever seen... it was just still photos, bad angles, and practice video... I'd love to see an actual video of what he can do... I totally agree. And if that's the video his agent sent out to the NFL teams scouting departments, it's no wonder he got such little interest.
  12. Jimmy Ralph snags a pass for a TD and it's 15-14 East. I guess he's some relation to Brock and Brett Ralph?
  13. He hadn't signed a contract at the time of the CFL draft though. Drafted May 6th and signed with green bay on May 10th. Oh right. My mistake. I thought he had signed prior to the draft or it was well known he would Also people seem to have forgotten that the Bombers had a real connection with Mulumba. Casey Creehan was the D-Line coach with Eastern Michegan in 2009 and was the guy who not only coached Mulumba that year but also recruited Mulumba out of High School to play there.
  14. May 1st? Are you sure? I thought it was just by the start of main training camp. Apparently Kyle Walters said that on CJOB yesterday. Penton quoted him in the Sun: http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/04/27/bombers-send-vets-morley-vega-packing edit: I just read this: http://www.cjob.com/2015/04/27/blue-bombers-cut-two-veterans/?sc_ref=twitter I wonder if there's some more vets who might be out of work very soon.
  15. Rosters have to be down to 75 by May 1st. There will be a whole bunch of players released before Friday.
  16. but he was the saviour! I'm waiting till they release Sunseri. After all, he was the guy who made Drew Willy expendable.
  17. For sure. In the run-up to the 2012 Super Bowl, he got a very flattering write up in Sports Illustrated: http://www.si.com/nfl/audibles/2012/02/02/who-is-dan-depalma-only-the-giants-secret-weapon-in-practice I hope the Bombers take a long hard look at this guy.
  18. Durant is sure raising the Rider fans expectations for this season: " 'The key to us is just strictly health. If we can stay healthy, then we'll be in Winnipeg for sure come November.' The 103rd Grey Cup will be held in the Manitoba capital Nov. 29." " 'I think I can get 6,000 yards passing this year, that’s what I think,' he said to the approval of those in attendance at the Estevan Bruins Sportsman Dinner." I guess it hasn't dawned on him that he's not going to have Picard and Heenan in front of him this year.
  19. First thing I noticed is that Hurl is penciled in at WIL not MLB. All new imports in the middle. edit: And Tim Cronk is our new long snapper.
  20. Yes they pulled about half a million out of the reserve, which I believe I read was at $1.6 million. Actually they added 500k to the reserve fund. It's a special 'rainy day fund' that they are committed to building up until it reaches $5M. It can't be touched without the approval of the Board of Governors. The $576k deficit that came about as a result of paying $4.5M to Triple B came out of 'Net Assets', which I assume includes the reserve fund, and came down from $7.95M to $7.37M. With the Grey Cup being here it should go up considerably this year.
  21. Give Curran the money, Kyle. This guy would fill such a hole on our defense. Can you say 'upgrade on Kuale'.
  22. Meh, since there are people on that site who believe that Lyle/Nate is a Bomber fan, I take what I read there with a far above average degree of skepticism.
