  1. Kris Adams was the only one that wasn't at least average or good. I don't expect a guy playing his first CFL game to be Dressler.
  2. He should have posted something intelligent. Would have fooled more people.
  3. Ya you don't have to make room for a guy who'd sign for the minimum salary. Also not worried about import receivers. We didn't dress a single one last season that was unproductive. Not too hard to find someone to compliment the veterans.
  4. It's pretty much a necessity if you are starting 3 imports on the OL, and either way you need a guy who can play significant snaps to spell Harris, rotate with a DI, and potentially take that spot on offense if Harris is out long-term. Committing to start 4 on D really hampers flexibility.
  5. Taking an OL in the first round is always the right decision.
  6. His best shot is probably returning kicks.
  7. More like a Patrick Lavoie with more receiving skills.
  8. Unless he gets put picked in the NFL Draft there is no way Wright drops that far. I don't believe he'll be available after the first 3 picks.
  9. If you were drafting for the best of the 2017 roster all things being equal you'd want a receiver and probably a DB that could play...like Wright and an interior DL. Our OL is 7 deep with Couture and Neufeld in reserve, really 8 deep with Foketi. We have a ton of LB's too. Harris' long term backup is an import, so you can counter that with a second receiver and then interchange a DI-Normand with that receiver and the import tailback.
  10. Maybe in the NHL draft.
  11. I agree. But I don't want a bunch of 2017 picks that we need to find room for or give up on right away.
  12. I don't think we need more picks. Honestly running out of room on our roster in most spots. We'd literally draft guys and release many of them and lose the picks. Maybe for #4 and their next couple 2nds or a first in 18 or 19.
  13. Except for an entire university campus including a 33000 seat stadium with event space, a 2500 seat gym and a field house.
  14. I thought the camera work was all right. The venues where the CFL Combine has/would be held aren't really conducive to NFL Combine or CFL game type production values. Perhaps they can have it in a full sized domed stadium (BC Place) at some point.
  15. "Top DL move into the league quickly."
  16. There hasn't been a DL drafted in the last 3 years who has started a game outside of the last two horrible Saskatchewan teams.
  17. Every pick is a "wild card." There's no position that has a better success rate in terms of players career length. There are no "right picks" by position. That's lunacy. If you are drafting based on trying to map some kind of trend, you are going to lose. You have to evaluate each player and draft in isolation.
  18. Both of those things have zero relevance to this draft and the players available. Should the Oilers have passed on McDavid because they flubbed forward picks and needed defensemen? Not saying Vandervoort is McDavid but their evaluation of him will have nothing to do with Chris Bauman, Brian Jones, Kito Poblah or Jade Etienne.
  19. I don't see Jones and Vandervoort as comparable really. Vandervoort stepped into the OUA at 18 and played at a level Jones never reached, even in a historically bad conference, the AUS. Jones dominated physical testing. Vandervoort dominated the football drills as expected. Both have a high ceiling, Vandervoort is significantly closer to reaching his.
  20. Why would you want to? He can play receiver and come in the block as necessary much like many guys playing receiver currently do. I think Dondre Wright could go really early. Honestly wouldn't be a bad pick for us given how we are deploying the ratio in the coming years with more guys on D. I think Saskatchewan or BC would take him for sure in the 1st.
  21. He looked slow as hell today, even on the interior drill he was getting beat clean by guys that won't make it through a CFL training camp. I wouldn't want to see what Almondo Sewell or Drake Nevis would do to him.
  22. I like Bladek too. Probably the most ready to play in 2017 too in terms of ability and NFL/school considerations. Take a receiver or DL at 6.
  23. The only impressive thing about Woods was his size. Really struggled against a bunch of DL who tested fairly slow and most of whom won't play in the CFL. IMO a bunch of the CIS guys are better and should go ahead of him. Woods feet are too damn slow. Spooner, Schram, Roy did all right. Zver is an athlete who will need some work, Gray is way ahead of the pack now IMO. Only guys I'd consider with our firsts are Gray and Bladek. The rest are pretty meh and at least a couple will be there at 15.
