  1. Let Brady finish this. Forget Strev.
  2. Stupid stupid stupid play by Calgary cover guys there to back off to avoid the No Yards and give up that return.
  3. Adams checked out of the original play there when he saw Bombers in 2 high.
  4. Would be nice if the D couldn't see the sticks.
  5. Missed Demski next level there for 1st down.
  6. JFC...like that Vaval caught that but he really needs to learn to get the ball to his outside arm.
  7. That pitch would look real nice with some oomph and then QB boot backside. Set up a fake for later into a pass. Inside hold on Wilson or that's a TFL for him.
  8. So slow developing...Brady didn't have a chance. QB either needs to step into that or throw it like a pass. Wonder how many times they repped that in practice.
  9. Streveler way too much hesitation on the wedge. Surge with the line there he has 3 yards before he gets touched. Waits and the backer flies over. What a terrible play. Might as well throw that instead of pitching it.
  10. Agree on Collaros, disagree on top off. In the two games so far Calgary on most snaps is playing 3 or 4 high coverage shells. They are basically running a scheme to bracket every vertical route, or route past the sticks and rush 3-4. You need to take what they give and make plays after the catch until they adjust to that. Should be running a ton of bunch formations to open up horizontal space and be less obvious. Screens and receivers blocking is huge. And run/playaction.
  11. The guys willing to come up now are more the guys who didn't make it through mini-camp or have been in NFL camps previous years and are no longer getting looks. The cuts this summer won't be up here until next season at the earliest. 4 weeks on a NFL practice roster = same salary for rookie Americans playing 18 CFL games. They aren't in a hurry.
  12. Because the D just does the same thing every play.... Chemistry matters in terms of guys seeing the same thing and making the same adjustments based on what the D provides. They can talk about it and have a plan but the only way to get that is repetition.
  13. Not really that long. 5 and a half games. He played alright in the first 3. Bonds hasn't stopped getting torched since the first Calgary game. We beat Toronto because for some reason they couldn't key in on Coxie vs Bonds or Vaval in the red zone. We only stopped that connection by pressure. Lucky they run plays for Ungerer, Mayala etc. Dinwiddie's a genius.
  14. Not how that works. It gives them 25 snaps where he can sub for the Canadian. Otherwise he just replaces whichever import receiver who would basically be the designated import anyway.
  15. Nichols never played another down for the Bombers after he injured his shoulder. The only other significant CFL injuries he had was a broken leg and torn ACL with Edmonton, knee injury here to start 2018.
  16. Until the other team starts kicking the ball at him because he can't catch it.
  17. Streveler completed 3 passes over 10 yards in the air the entire game. Not exactly primed for a "kill shot." Coaches can criticize Streveler's accuracy...but how the **** do you not realize his limitations? They were calling plays based on that the whole night. It can be a little better for him if you win up front and open up playaction. But nothing opens up until he makes some throws. So that playcall was just an arm punt.
  18. So be it. If Ayres has some supernatural special teams abilities in their eyes, leave him on. But in terms of D absolutely no need to have both Jones', Wilson and Ayres to play about 80 snaps a game between them. Meanwhile on O we basically have no receivers dressed and a random 5'7 235 pound option tailback trying to catch kicks on special teams.
  19. Peterson for Cobb I would bet if Mitchell is going on.
  20. If they popped on Bailey, global DE, straight across for Lawson. Use him in that Cheetah front with all the ends on 2nd and long, maybe 15 snaps a game, put Woods on for the most surplus of the American LB's...keeping in mind majority of D snaps we have 1 of them on the field...maybe see 2 more this week vs Calgary over Toronto who doesn't try to run at all. Jefferson, Vaughters, Person, Bailey (counts as a Canadian effectively), Woods, Adams, Thomas, Kornelson. Solid group of 8. Bailey and Person for sure can cover kicks. Likely keeping 3 Canadian OL starting with Vanterpool out. 3 OL, 2 receivers, 1 running back, 1 Canadian/Global on the field every snap on D. So between Kramdi and Kelly you've basically satisfied that. Any reps Canadian DL or LB get is extra. And lots of coverage for that Canadian spot if something funny happens.
  21. Lapo’s main flaw is he would have played for the FG there with 10 minutes left in the game to go up 9 and then lose by 2-3 after getting outscored by 11 points the rest of the game.
  22. Go 5 Canadians on O, 2 on D. 2 OL, 2 receivers, RB. Have Corcoran/Clercius rotate one spot depending who you want at a wideout spot (get Mitchell involved), and have Peterson, Chris-Ike as cover too. Cobb could come or go depending on who they want on for special teams. If Logan is up, not much need for Cobb IMO. Should not be a problem to go 2 on D based on how they rotate on D. Kramdi plays basically every down, Lawson or Thomas out there almost every down. Then you have Kelly, Hallett, Gauthier and the rookie LB's as cover too. Kelly was playing nickel last week when they went all American DL.
  23. I think it's pretty clear they need to flip a couple American spots to O. We have guys like Shay and Smith to cover LB if we really needed. Kelly can play. Hallett is passable. The kind of D we play I'd much rather have 1 American dressed at WIL/MLB than 4. Having guys like Jones, Wilson and Ayres on to combined play under half the D snaps is mega waste when we have a phase of the team playing insanely short handed on O.
