  1. That Fajardo pick was the perfect example of how our tactical plan on D was so misguided. You let him have that throw in single coverage and all the receiver has to do is outfight the DB. You drop guys out and do it purposefully to bracket Mack (simply have one guy over top, one guy trailing) and those throws aren't there. Fajardo has to put the ball at risk to try to be accurate or start spinning around in the backfield. Instead we blitzed 6-7 into 7 man max protect routinely and gave him the Cover 0/1 looks he can work with...all he can work with because he has a horribly inaccurate and weak arm in terms of getting the ball there on time at any distance downfield. It hurts so, so much because we gave this one away...and we just had the gameplan for the same QB to perfection last week in the West Final.
  2. Offense put up one scoring drive in a half and tried to coast. Most embarrassing thing in this game is us running the play clock down to zip from 10 mins in both down 4, then up 3, and then giving up the final possession of the game to win it. Just poorly coached all the way around. F for MOS, F for Hall, C- for Buck Pierce.
  3. The team has been so dominant. In a big way makes it more disappointing to be so poorly prepared for these games and have such poor showings. The whole "just another game" thing might need to fall by the wayside.
  4. See who wants to play first. Only way I'm keeping Hardrick around is if Bryant retires for continuity. Guy had a shitty season and got busted up trying to lean on pass pro in this game leaving ZC dancing around. Yeah yeah, OL of the year. It's a lifetime award. Don't really see much use for Alexander at this point unless he comes cheap. Wilson, Bighill not very impactful and likely to fall off cliff. Secondary needs a rebuild around Nichols, Holm, Parker with a free agent and a rookie. See what Kramdi does, might be headed back home.
  5. That 2nd and 18 play should have been lights out. People asking for where the roster stuff comes into play. When our D was most dominant neither Jeff was playing more than 2/3 of snaps. Tonight on field whole game. When we were those guys we'd have had 3 ends on the field for the last drive with all having full tanks from being rotated all night. Comes time to make the play to end the game. They blow contain and Fajardo is into the secondary. Same vs Ottawa. Same vs Hamilton. Didn't learn from our mistakes and repeated them on the biggest stage that mattered the most.
  6. I don't know...in these playoffs we've burned a ton of roster spots on guys who clearly were significantly injured to the point they could barely function in a CFL game (Bighill GC, Grant both games, Schoen)...and Jackson, and McCrae who we didn't even see. I'd argue if we actually used all 46 guys we might get something from it. We've done nothing to backfill a bunch of spots where guys have been banged up and worse. Returner this year might be one of the best case studies. Like did we keep McCrae around because he's shaped closest to Demski, or could we have worked to bring in an actual returner in the summer when trying out some guys wouldn't be fatal? Montreal did it and that guy returned a kick for TD in East Final, got a couple decent ones on us in the GC. Canadian LB another spot we just quit on. Eventually got guys back, but can't say didn't affect our cover teams almost all year.
  7. Or anybody to drive the line back into Fajardo, edge rush, maybe get out there with 3 ends...could call it Cheetah or something cool. Might win games with something like that.
  8. Yeah. Said to my boys last week when BC was kind of hanging around if we're going to lose I hoped we'd lose the West Final. This is an all-time embarrassment. Not quite sure what Richie Hall saw in the first two Als TD drives to make him think continuing to blitz would end this one in our favour. Montreal was dialed up for it with max protect and we're just leaving their guys man on man across the board with ability to adjust to any floater Fajardo pops out there. Collaros...don't know what to say. Need to have some ability to handle pressure and zone. Need to have a mind to drop into quick game and give some different looks.
  9. The teams that keep rolling make these decisions is all I will say. I fear we won't even have a second thought on it for QB and a lot of positions held by vets. Dru Brown looked pretty damn good, nearly perfect, running the same scheme this year. I think we have much bigger roster issues that need management, and that is telling some of the guys who were on the field tonight but contributing almost nothing, injured or not, that we are moving on. My easy list: Bighill, Alexander, Hardrick. Yeah it's hard for all of us because we never won until this group in our lifetimes. But if we want to keep winning we need to smarten up. We are dressing guys who aren't CFL football players whether that's due to base skill level, age or injury in a ******* Grey Cup game. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  10. Hopefully O'Shea learned a lesson but probably not. Sometimes you need to put a bullet in the old horses (Bighill) and go with the horse that is going to win the game. Too many passengers on this version of this team. Very sad end for some.
  11. That made absolutely no difference. We ended up with the ball in almost the exact same spot off the punt.
  12. Our defensive gameplan was all time awful. We just had the perfect plan for the exact same QB last week. Guy can't throw, don't give him wide open throws, force him to be accurate. What at absolute embarrassment for the franchise. Don't use the word dynasty.
  13. We have one receiver healthy enough to even get to the endzone.
  14. We were bleeding clock down 4 and up 3. Now look where we are.
  15. 2nd and 18 our DL has the play right in front of them and lets Fajardo out of the pocket. Should have been 3rd and 25. Just a distinct lack of playmakers on that D.
  16. What an absolute dump of a defensive game plan. Blitz blitz blitz and give up wide open throws.
  17. Death by 1000 cuts here if you don't get aggressive in coverage.
  18. We do not play that hitch well. Realize they have it blocked up...flow to the ball.
