I think you just do what you can to avoid kicking 55+ yard FG's when they aren't necessary. Yeah it's nice to know you have a guy with that range, but there's a lot risk in those kicks, snap, hold, kick, easier to block with a bit different timing.

I don't mind that call or that throw to Demski. Play is right there to be made. Ottawa was playing a cover 2 cut worried about protecting FG range so the deep ball was the right read, and it was there. Kind of an incredible play by 3rd string safety (starter and backup for Ottawa both went out to injury in this game)

Ottawa handed us that ball back when they could have run the clock to OT. How the **** does Dyce still have a job?

The whole "no holes" theory doesn't really hold with zone blocking. RB needs to hit it hard. If you're stopping your feet 3 yards behind the line...yeah you're going to get snowed under, they are working to pop one vertical crease by driving the line wide, not up the field.

The adjustment is they aren't keying on Brady because he's doing jack squat. So they had the LB scrape up to that boot off the playaction.

Works if they are keying on run. Doesn't work if they aren't. Also need the run threat in their eyes for them to key on. Which is why that reverse to Mitchell didn't work because there was no fake to draw the backside end to follow the pulling tackle and guard. Whole point of all that stuff in the backfield with playaction and jets or orbits is to draw eyes of defenders and get them to stop their feet to open up space for receivers, time for QB.

Jefferson and Wilson need to finish that play.
