"Bowness" question - who was the Jets assistant coach in 1984-1985? Man I am having so much deja vu here this year. -
Game 65: Minnesota Wild

The Jets had a good team the year that they were 4th in the league, but they had no chance against the Oilers in Round 2 after Hawerchuk had his ribs busted by Jamie Macoun of the Flames in the third game of the first round series against the Flames. The previous seasons the Jets had made the playoffs with a losing record, thanks to the crappy division they were in. Those teams weren't that great. Reading this history book it is heartbreaking to read all of the "would haves" and "should haves" including Fergie trading away his third round draft pick in the 1984 draft to Montreal, which they used to draft Patrick Roy. That being said, the Jets did have a 2nd round pick in that draft that they used to draft Peter Douris, who played a grand total of 6 NHL games with Winnipeg. -

yeah Achilles from Troy comes to mind... -
Bud Grant was before my time, but I have heard enough of the stories from previous generation Bomber fans to know what an amazing guy he was. I'd say Bud Grant, Cal Murphy, and now the Canadian Mafia have been three of the most dominant managers/coaching combinations in the history of the Bombers. I of course am not forgetting the 1930's-41 era but my knowledge of that era isn't as broad so if I am wrong here feel free to correct me.

must ask for this for my b-day.

I am reading a history of the Jets 1.0. Fergie kept the Jets mired in mediocrity for years. I am experiencing some deja vu. -

Seems like every time Morrissey shoots from the blue line he scores. Weird year that way! -

Dubois wants to go to Montreal, who is the other guy wanting a trade? EDIT - oh I see Logan Stanley. Yeah I'd have traded him.

Will the Jets score more than 1 goal?

kelownabomberfan replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
New ownership required. Maybe that Doman guy in BC wants to own the Stamps too? A new stadium would do wonders too, but there's just no political will. Calgary as a city is shell of what I knew it to be when I lived there in the 1990's. I don't get it. -
