  1. You haven't been a Jets fan very long have you?
  2. Kconn, Wheels and Schief seem to have awoken from their 2023 comas. Is it too little too late though? Argh...
  3. I've said it before and I'll say it again - love that Barron kid.
  4. https://www.castanet.net/news/BC/419171/Red-Robinson-legend-of-Vancouver-rock-n-roll-radio-dies-at-86#419171
  5. So you're saying there's a chance....
  6. David Copperfield has left the building.
  7. Reimer on fire tonight. Argh
  8. This is a late one, even for me!
  9. Is it just me or do I really love Morgan Barron. Man that guy works hard. Gets a great assist on the SH goal and then gets into a fight. That's a HOCKEY PLAYER!!
  10. yeah that was a mistake I thought. Get a few fresh guys into the lineup.
  11. I hope that they aren't hiring Danny Briere's son as well....seems to be kind of an asshat.
  12. I guessing Sam's done. Oh well, he had a good long career.
  13. That's unfortunate, really liked him in "Bosch" and of course The Wire too.
  14. and we have a shot at Connor Bedard....lol
  15. "Bowness" question - who was the Jets assistant coach in 1984-1985? Man I am having so much deja vu here this year.
  16. The Jets had a good team the year that they were 4th in the league, but they had no chance against the Oilers in Round 2 after Hawerchuk had his ribs busted by Jamie Macoun of the Flames in the third game of the first round series against the Flames. The previous seasons the Jets had made the playoffs with a losing record, thanks to the crappy division they were in. Those teams weren't that great. Reading this history book it is heartbreaking to read all of the "would haves" and "should haves" including Fergie trading away his third round draft pick in the 1984 draft to Montreal, which they used to draft Patrick Roy. That being said, the Jets did have a 2nd round pick in that draft that they used to draft Peter Douris, who played a grand total of 6 NHL games with Winnipeg.
  17. yeah Achilles from Troy comes to mind...
  18. Bud Grant was before my time, but I have heard enough of the stories from previous generation Bomber fans to know what an amazing guy he was. I'd say Bud Grant, Cal Murphy, and now the Canadian Mafia have been three of the most dominant managers/coaching combinations in the history of the Bombers. I of course am not forgetting the 1930's-41 era but my knowledge of that era isn't as broad so if I am wrong here feel free to correct me.
  19. must ask for this for my b-day.
  20. we used to be picking a lot higher too, that helps.
  21. https://www.kpcc.org/2023-03-09/actor-topol-who-appeared-in-fiddler-on-the-roof-hundreds-of-times-has-died Last person to die who was in Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Great movie.
  22. I haven't even hit that period yet.
  23. I am reading a history of the Jets 1.0. Fergie kept the Jets mired in mediocrity for years. I am experiencing some deja vu.
