  2. yup he sure lit it up here in Kelowna. I wish that young man all the best! Unfortunately it probably will be tougher for him than it would be for everyone else as this is going to look like a Kevin Feterik situation unless he can show that he deserves to be on the roster with his stellar play. Good luck!
  3. Man we used to love going to the all you could eat deep fried shrimp days on weekends. The servers would just walk around with baskets of deep fried shrimp and we would just have them dump out the baskets onto our plates. But we had to make sure we left room for the all you could eat soft serve ice cream. Never be a place like that again.
  4. yeah the only difference was that Lunsford just hung out at Bonanza on Pembina for the all you eat salad bar and soft serve ice cream as Subway hadn't been invented yet. and they already have won us a cup, so we know they can do it. I'm comfortable if they want to be the new Cameron/Kennerd 2.0, just keep bringing home the hardware boys.
  5. I watched that Trouba hit happen and you could see it coming. It was textbook for getting smoked. Don Cherry used to call it "getting caught in the trolley tracks". Player carrying the puck over the blue line cuts left or right, has his attention on the puck, and the d-man steps up and just smokes him. Happened to Doug Gilmour in the 1993 playoffs: I hate seeing guys hurt, especially if it's a brain injury. The NHL has to cut this out of the game. Too many hockey players I know are now affected for life due to multiple concussions suffered by hits that probably didn't need to happen, but were considered "legal".

  7. Scott Stinson: Jacob Trouba's massive hit was probably clean, which is a problem (msn.com)
  8. I think that he's right. "If You Could Read My Mind" is one of the most perfect songs ever written.
  9. What an amazing album. I remember growing up listening to that album, many many times. I followed your lead and am giving it another listen now...and that's when I remembered that it was Gord that wrote and first performed the song "Ribbon of Darkness Over Me" which of course has always been credited to Marty Robbins. Not so. Gord you are truly a Canadian gem that touched so many lives. RIP old friend.
  10. One of the most "beautiful" songs ever written, in my extremely biased opinion.... Many a time I've had to listen to Gord's soothing words to calm me down after a Bomber or Jets loss....
  11. Just having so many flashbacks to the Mike Smith/Fergie years. Every year was either "a great chance to build off the successes of last year" or "we are seeing the results of the long term plan and the plan is working" except that it was always one step forward and then two steps backwards. I always was looking forward to the new prospects coming in every year like Ehlers/Morrissey/Laine/Connor etc but do we even have anyone of that caliber anymore in development? Or is the depth and future of this team just toast now?
  12. Always good to listen to a good song, and learn something about Canada while you are doing it!
  13. every Canadian household should own a copy of "Gord's Gold" lol....I've listened to it so many times I know every word of every song.
  14. Thanks for that. I would like to see the players try and hoist O'Shea up, he'd probably lay a beat down on all of them lol...mostly just because he wouldn't want the moment to be about him...
  15. Trouba blew up Timo Meier in a massive hit. Looked like Scott Stevens kind of crap.
  16. Holy Kraken! Take out the Avalanche. Wow night of upsets.
  17. Florida just won't die...
  18. Mike Kelly for Jets coach!! He and Wheeler can handle everything internally....
  19. Even Stephen Lee Olsen is weighing in on our chances now... What you're made of!
  20. Florida is still alive!!
  21. maybe we can do some bake sales here in Kelowna and arrange to have the Stamps move to the Okanagan lol...
  22. I don't think I'd call Jyodi Gondek a "Con". I am not a fan of hers but hats off to all the politicians for finally moving this forward, as it would be a shame for the Flames to move to Cleveland or something like that. Now, they need to focus on their next big project, getting a new stadium for the Stamps to play in so they can bull doze that rat infested dump McMahon.
