  1. One more...How often to him and Taman get drunk and wrestle in the nude? why would they need to be drunk?
  2. Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB Chris greaves working at left tackle for blue bombers as Stanley Bryant watches with a minor injury
  3. yeah I was talking about a game in 1985. And I have the first-hand account of a player who was on the field at the time who saw lightning hit a goal-post.
  4. Yeah it's easy to tell a pollster you are voting NDP, but then it's a whole different thing to step into that voting booth and think really? I am going to unleash that circus of clowns on the economy?
  5. Mulcair definitely, but I wouldn't mind hanging out at a game with Justin...especially if this is the reaction he gets wherever he goes...
  6. how's Bilukudi looking?
  7. You guys definitely have us beat hands down when it comes to the cheerleaders. A tip of the hat to the Bombers for assembling a fine group again this year Toronto ain't bad either...
  8. I don't know how much stock to put in polls, but if the election were held right now, some pollsters are saying we'd have a minority NDP government. That would be favorable to a majority NDP government, I guess.... http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/poll-tracker-ndp-lead-widens-slightly-over-conservatives-1.3178079
  9. The subsidized child care program has been a complete bust in Quebec. First, all of the daycares unionized, and implemented rigid working hours, meaning that they weren't even open during periods when less financially advantaged people had to work, like shift labour, so only people with day jobs could take advantage, which tended to be the more wealthy. And then of course, the costs were far greater than even the most conservative estimates. Mulcair says that his plan will cost $5 billion per annum. Better double that, just as a start. $10 billion a year - that's a huge pill to swallow. There can only be one reason that Mulcair is pushing for subsidized daycare and that's because he's been told by the HEU and big labour to do it, because it will create thousands of new unionized jobs. It's not about the greater good for all, it's about the greater good for the unions, and that's why (one of the reasons) I can't stand the NDP.
  10. I just get the sense that the game has moved on and Taman is in way over his head. Thank goodness we have the Walters (yes I am calling him that now). I hope he sticks around until he's 70.
  11. https://stats.cfldb.ca/league/cfl/schedule/1984/06/21/bc-at-wpg/ Was this the game?
  12. Why do you say that? Before he was drafted, he said it was his lifelong dream to play for the Bombers. You think the Riders 0-6 start to the season has made him fall in love with Regina? Yeah there's so much else that makes you fall in love with that town... Toothless girls are good at some things. Gross. Not if you close your eyes tightly. Kind of like walking a tight-rope. Don't look down.

  14. I know Nixon didn't win. All of those ballot boxes thrown into Lake Michigan by the mayor of Chicago made sure Nixon didn't win.
  15. I've always wondered why Trudeau or Mulcair aren't ever seen at any sporting events. Seems like pretty cheap publicity. Even Pierre took in almost every Grey Cup game, even if he didn't know a football from a meatball...
  16. Its bigger because of all of those dentists.
  17. a friend of mine was in Honolulu during Christmas break. The Secret Service shut down an entire city block just so that Obama could go out for dinner. There were gunboats in the harbor and helicopter gunships circling over-head. Meanwhile, at the same time, I was watching our Prime Minister high-fiving people in the crowd at the gold-medal junior hockey game at Air Canada center in Toronto. I like our ways better.
  18. The mafia put him in power. Richard Nixon won the 1960 election. But the mafia insured that the Kennedys won. And then the Kennedys turn on the mafia. Not too smart.
  19. Sorry but you have to address needs, and we needed Sukh Chungh, who is going to be a stud.

  21. I was definitely at a game in the early 1980's between Winnipeg and BC where it rained and play was suspended. I think it was 1982. Vic Rapp was coaching the Lions. I remember we always called him Vic Crapp because of course, we hated the Lions. I loved those BC Sucks chants. So true in so many ways. The Bombers won the game, just checked - it was August 8th, 1982. The moral of the story is, don't play on August 8th in Winnipeg if you don't want to be rained on.
  22. Or like a lot of people I know who post on FB, she is trying to appear hip and cool to the other moms in her social circle. It's always easy to say "get rid of Harper" when you don't care about how bad the alternatives are, just like its easy to say "we should be spending more on (insert basically anything here) but those Conservatives are such jerks" without worrying about the costs and how they will be paid for. Of course, if you do ask anybody how things will be paid for, it's simply "raise corporate taxes". Yup. It's sooooooo easy.
  23. I was just on the phone with a guy who played linebacker for the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1985, and he was telling me about a game in Winnipeg in 1985, August 8th to be exact, that he was playing in. The Bombers won it 58-15. He said the Roughies just got crushed, and the Bomber defence just destroyed them. During the game, he said to the Ottawa defence in the huddle "hey at least it isn't raining" at which point the skies opened and lightning hit one of the goalposts, and the game had to be suspended, like the Argo-Hamilton game yesterday. Does anyone remember this game? I don't, because for some reason I am pretty sure I wasn't there, even though it would have been in the days when we had season tickets. Anyway, pretty funny to hear first-hand what it was like playing against the Bombers in those days, and getting destroyed in our barn. He said every team feared playing Winnipeg at home in those days.
  24. Or he mouthed off to Chamblin. Orders from Taman - he thinks they can find someone older and more expensive. Currently leaving frantic messages on Allen Pitt's voicemail. Geroy - paging Geroy...Milt looks in fine shape as well...nothing is off the table right now.
  25. I wonder if Richardson was called in and released or this morning he just found a mustard-stained Subway napkin in his locker with "you are released - BT" scrawled on it.
