Mike Quinn was the guy that had the Bombers in field goal range and was supposed to just hand off on second down to gain a few more yards to make the game-winning FG easier, and instead he tossed a bomb into the end zone that was underthrown and picked off, thereby losing a game that the Bombers had pretty much won and in the bag. Berry just about had a coronary and Quinn was on the plane out of Winnipeg the next day, never to play pro football again. Berry no doubt has his locker emptied before he even got into the locker room. What a difference a play makes. If Quinn had followed orders and handed off on that play, he might have stayed around for a year or more, especially given how weak our QB depth was back then in the Taman era (unlike now where we are stacked!!! Stacked!!!)

This McQuaig faux pas has really opened a can of worms for the NDP, a can it didn't want to see open, but was inevitable. The NDP are trying to please too many diametrically opposed interests, and in the end, they will end up pleasing no one. First they have Quebec, who somehow wants Alberta shut down but still wants Alberta to send them giant welfare cheques every month, then you have the loony-tune leftists like Linda McQuaig who think money grows on trees and so it's fine to kill billions of dollars of economic activity to meet social engineering goals, and then you have the rest of Canada, who actually pays the freight. David Bovell - there's a name from the past. If you watch the 1990 Grey Cup game, Don Wittman talks about Bovell a lot, and how he's going to be a future star in the CFL. And then he only played a few more years and left the CFL. Not sure what happened there, he had a great game in that Grey Cup.

hahaha...hey hey hey....I actually was a quarterback in highschool so I can sling it! I always have to laugh thinking back one night when a bunch of us were drinking at Scandals, and for whatever reason I had my alma mater high school leather football jacket on, which said Q.Back on the sleeve. Quincy Williams looks at it and says "wtf you were a QB in highschool?!?!..damn would have hated to see the size of the rest of your team!" ahhh memories Ha ha Scandals. What a dive. Good times, good times.

yeah here's hoping that the Bombers cover the spread. I am a Marve fanbois for sure, and I am happy to see him finally get his shot. I just hope that all of those here who have been praying for him to fail and fall on his face aren't rewarded, and also that we don't give up on him too quickly, in favour of the next flavor of the month back-up. I also don't want to see Marve pulled too early if he struggles, just to watch cement shoes tank and the entire team fall apart.

Marve has had two training camps now and a year and a half to prepare. If he doesn't know the playbook by now then he shouldn't be a professional player. It's one thing if we just got him off the bus from Fresno, but he's been here long enough to learn the subtle nuances of an MB "let's kill the QB" offense.
