And William Lyon Mackenzie King employed a full time psychic so he could talk to his dead mother and dead dog. Lots of weird stuff goes on in Ottawa. John Diefenbaker had jowls like a basset hound. We've had some strange looking PMs too. Sir John A was a raging alcoholic who could stand up in the HOC & give 12 hour speeches during filibusters with the aid of alcohol. It was the 1800's. Everyone was a raging alcoholic. What else was there to do?

kelowna music fans should go to hear this band

going to see Shania on the 27th, music budget blown... -
Trudeau's new ads where he's screaming into the microphone are starting to get on my nerves. Especially when he calls me "friend". Sorry Justin, you are a spoiled rich kid from Montreal. We are never going to be friends.

on a somewhat related topic, man did the Argos ever get screwed over due to the Jays post-season, and the Pan-Am games earlier in the year. They ended up with hardly any real home games this year. As Bomber fans we would be pretty cheesed if this had happened to us. Thank goodness the Argos are getting out of the hellish Skydome.

Edmonton Oilers LOL (perhaps Calgary Flames LOL)
kelownabomberfan replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I remember seeing Gretzky play in Winnipeg when he was 18. He played pretty terrible in the game I watched. The crowd was really razzing him, which of course, a Winnipeg crowd would do. Anyway, he was 18. McDavid is only 18. The sky is the limit, and he's only going to get better. I agree though the scrutiny is off the charts. In Wayne's day there weren't two major sports networks needing something to talk about for 24 hours a day like there is now. -
Bombers vs RedBlacks (and Jovon's chirp)
kelownabomberfan replied to Westy Sucks's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I still have a hard time accepting that the Red Blacks are so much better than last year, and have come so far in one season, and just completely blown past us. Especially with Marcel as their GM. Am I just on crazy pills here or are the Redblacks actually that good? -
Stranger things have happened. If so, good for him. This just shows again why American players, especially QB's, should give the CFL a try. They are far more marketable playing up here and getting experience than sitting at home eating Doritos. I couldn't believe that Delvin Breaux was playing for New Orleans last night. I honestly didn't think he was that great with Hamilton. So shows what I know.

Not all of them. Of course not. But there is a sense that the Jays are not really welcome in what the Americans consider their sport. I don't think it's just me who feels this way either. When the Ump allowed that third Ranger run on that screwed up play by Martin, the entire crowd was chanting "Fix! Fix! Fix!"

Another Warren Moon wannabe. Maybe Sask picks him up?

I hope you are right. Mulcair and the NDP were not the party to bring positivity and cohesiveness to Canada. All they know how to do is whine and complain and be negative. Trudeau is the only real option, and I hope a lot of NDP'ers this weekend think about that before they vote, and move their vote over to the Liberal candidate in their riding.

Wow those jerseys were ugly. What I couldn't get was why all the fans were wearing them too. What a bunch of lemmings! -
yeah to that comment rr. Justin's dad was an evil genius and his mom was a hippy who smoked more weed than Cheech and Chong combined. If Justin is somewhere in the middle that's fine by me.

My company exports almost everything to the US so the low dollar is a real win for us. Come to think of it, I should be voting NDP! Doh...Priorities are mixed up, yo why do you say that? Oh - just the thought of KBF voting NDP. if I ever do, better go find Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon and partner up with them, because the zombie apocalypse is upon us.

Something that joins us all together is enjoying putting on over on our extremely arrogant neighbours to the south. And from the tone of the announcers, they are none too happy about a Canadian team being close to winning the big prize. "World Series" my ass. Only Americans would be arrogant enough to call their final the "World Series". So let's at least make it an "international Series". Yeah, most of the boys aren't from Canada. But they sure do seem to love it here, and love the fans. I've never seen an MLB team come out to celebrate with the fans after winning a game. That was amazing.

Joe Poplawsi is having a great year, good to see.

Reminds me of the first time the Jays made the playoffs in 1985. They were playing the Royals that year too. We had the portable TV on top of the old Westinghouse wood-frame TV, so we could watch baseball and hockey simultaneously. Awe the good old days...

Well at least we won't have to hear about how it's only Harper that can save Canada from the evils of the world. When our economy doesn't self destruct because Harper isn't personally running it what then? I can hear you pro cons yelling the horror the horror. I think that the smartest thing Trudeau can do is get the GST back up to 7%. That will solve any budgetary deficits for years to come. If he can show surpluses then he will dispel any myths about the Liberals being able to manage the economy. Ralph Goodale was a good finance minister in the past and I expect, if given the job again, he will be good in the future. Perhaps also a lot of this anti-Harper bitterness will fade too. Man do people hate that guy. It's like he personally went around Canada kicking everyone's dogs. I don't get it, and I guess I never will. Oh well. And posting lists of hundreds of reasons why he was so bad, mostly complete lies, won't help me understand this hatred any better, I am afraid. Can't answer for others but here is my reason. Its the abject arrogance that he shows.Setting the longest election in history so that the Cons can inundate us with ads that the other parties cannot afford.Actually believing that they are the only party that can lead this country without causing a disaster. Harper's latest add says it's not a popularity contest kids do what's best for Canada. Finally Harper knows everything about how to properly run our country but hasn't a clue what his personal aides are up to? Yeah ok. Can't really argue with that one. Honestly, when governments get to the 10 year age range, they really do get extremely arrogant.

Big enough he needs two watches because he spans several time zones. -

I understood perfectly why people hated Justin's daddy so much. He destroyed Alberta with the NEP, and over night bankrupted thousands of families, out of pure spite. That was a tangible reason to really hate that guy. Harper hasn't done anything close to something that bad. Oh well.

Bit of a difference, in that, well, there are other football teams in Canada to cheer for. Baseball, not so much.

I expect reams of sanctimony and I told you so's from the NDP, who still can't get over that most Canadians just don't trust them to run the economy. Until they do, and fix that perception (a successful provincial government would help) they are doomed to third place.
