I'd like to be a bit more positive than this. If what you say is true though, I'm glad that we had a prime minister with the fore-sight to institute Bill C-51. I do hear what you are saying and the Iraqi war started by Bush is one of the biggest causes of a lot of the unrest and refugee crisis but I think it is overly simplistic to put all the blame on the US. The "Arab Spring" that occurred a few years ago also caused a lot of this mess. When I visited Egypt in 2008 I talked politics with a lot of Egyptians and they said they all hated Mubarak and Gadaffi but they also said that if strongmen weren't in place in the Islamic countries in the Middle East that all hell would break loose, and they were right on. That's why when the Arab Spring was happening and all of the starry-eyed leftists were droning on about how great it was that the peoples of these countries were "standing up for change", all I could think was that there was now a huge power vacuum in a lot of these places, and how tempting it would be for nutcases and extremists to move in and take over, no matter what the cost in blood. And I was right on. I also think that it is too easy to just apologize for the sickness that dwells in the fanaticism of radical Islam. The Vietnamese were bombed mercilessly by the US and a million of their citizens were killed in a senseless and stupid war, and yet you don't see Vietnamese people self-detonating on the streets of Paris or flying planes into buildings in the US. It's not just about mistreatment, it's about the radical Islamist desire to take over the entire world, by force if necessary. I don't know what this has to do with the Paris attacks, or radical Islam. Really, talking about the armoured vehicles being sold to Saudi seems like a giant red herring, and I thought that it was a huge mistake of Mulcair, in a campaign loaded with mistakes, to turn that contract with Canada into a political football. If extremists start self-detonating on the streets of Paris in Canadian-made armoured vehicles, then we can talk.

here's something to be ashamed about on social media - ISIS supporters celebrating the Paris attacks... Translation: After the French crimes in Mali, and the bombing of Syria and Iraq, now comes the killing. In your homes there will be war. 18 dead and 60 hostages.

It's always easy to call someone xenophobic & racist. Asking for better security isn't asking too much. I agree, and on the social media I've been following, that seems to be the trend. Anyone questioning what Trudeau is wanting to do with the Syrian refugees is immediately attacked and called a "right-wing nutjob" and a xenophobe and a "redneck". I thought this post-Harper era was supposed to be one of open dialogue and inclusion of all ideas and opinions, but instead I've seen the exact opposite.

Are you also ashamed of radical Islam for committing these vile acts? I'm just curious. I am ill and ashamed that 129 innocent people in Paris were machine-gunned and blown up by radical followers of a religion that has been machine-gunning and blowing up people all over the world for decades, while due to political correctness, people keep turning a blind eye to it. I am also ill and ashamed that thousands of people are killed every month by radical Islam in bombings and killings all over the world, and yet we only take notice when they bomb and kill in a country that we'd like to visit, and even then, our focus seems to be centered on making sure no one offends anyone while discussing the bombing and the killing, rather than discussing the sickness that caused the killing in the first place. No one cares if Boko Haram machine guns an entire village of women and children in Nigeria, or if some lunatics blow up a bus in Yemen. Who cares. As long as they do it in places that don't matter, and no one offends anyone else.

No, I just don't paint entire groups of people with the same brush or justify treating entire groups of people differently because of certain individuals within that group.Well, terrorists & criminals are within that group you say we're painting so you can rage on. You can't change that. Most Canadians aren't against refugees coming here if they are screened properly so the criminal element aren't allowed in. Not just having the borders flung open so any Syrian refugee can come in. I'm sure this attack will heighten refugee scrutiny but they can't punish all refugees for the crimes of a few. All Canadians ask is for their government to be responsible & make sure the people they let in have had the proper background checks & have been vetted properly. No one is saying we don't want refugees. Just that it is done properly over however long of a period of time that it takes. Exactly Iso. And anyone who calls someone else a Xenophobe for asking for this level of scrutiny is the one with the problem. It's fine to say you want to be compassionate and open the floodgates, but then don't be surprised when bombs are going off and people are being machine-gunned in restaurants by people you let walk in with no checks, all in the name of political correctness and feeling good about what an open-minded bleeding heart person you are. There's a real world out there, and a lot of people who are willing to die to enforce their will and religion on societies, using their own laws against them. And it's only going to get worse.

We need Teddy Roosevelt to make a reappearance. Every 100 years or so.

Getting involved with Police Incidents / Shootings...

i thought that program was loosely based on an actual story. Based on "true events", whatever that means. -
Good luck and best wishes Max.

I was 15 at the time but have no recollection of this blizzard. My entire memory of Manitoba winters has just blended into one large blizzard, all at -40C with -55C wind chill. But we still went snowmobilin'.

I don't get the logic of saying you are blocking a pipeline due to climate change. That oil is still going to come out of the ground, and it will still be transported. If consumption of that oil is causing any kind of climate change, it's not going to stop just because it doesn't travel by pipeline. Instead, it will be transported by the much more dangerous method of rail, or even tanker truck. That's not helping the environment at all. A conspiracy theory buddy of mine explained why Warren Buffett backed the Democrats. He's got huge investments in Canadian rail way companies. Blocking pipelines and forcing oil to be transported by rail is just good business for him, and he can hide behind Obama who says that he wants to block pipelines to help the environment. Everyone wins (except the occasional small town that gets incinerated by a derailment), and the trained seals clap along.

The Conservatives seem to be obsessed with hair, so Rona was the obvious choice. What is a MJ lie? That she picks her nose a lot? Doesn't brush her teeth? I don't know.

If you aren't in favor of this, then you just aren't a fan of Canadian politics.

So you think that the Americans and Israelis deliberately bombed MSF? Why? Unless you subscribe to some kind of idealism that both nations are just that evil to do it on purpose, I don't know why they would do it. It makes no sense.

She's spewing lies about Melanie Joly? Maybe she's just jealous.

what would our record be if Willy hadn't been injured?
kelownabomberfan replied to Nolby's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
we'd have 9 wins this year I think. Those close games we lost wouldn't have been so close, especially with the defense playing so well. -
Actually, I've been surprised at how many women I've talked to that are not happy about Trudeau's policy either. They don't want hand-outs, they want to be recognized as being just as good as men. Quotas in a lot of ways are slaps in the face to people as it tells them "you are only getting this job because of what you are, not who you are". But what's done is done. What happens in the next election and there are more women than men elected? Will a lot of extremely talented women be excluded from cabinet because of this policy? It really can be a double-edged sword.

Game 13 : Jets @ Leafs
kelownabomberfan replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Could you hear the disapointment in Mike Johnson's voice as he repeatedly indicated how close Burmi was to only having one skate on the ice coming out of the box as he took the puck. The puck at times really seemed to be jumping off the Jets stick this game, a bit frustrating but what I really enjoyed watching was the Jets taking it to the leafs the last seven minutes or so of the game and Leafs just trying to hang on for overtime. A big part of that is influenced by our coaching. I like it. We're playing to win, not to lose. Yeah that was hilarious how many times they analyzed Burmi's feet to make sure that he had both feet on the ice, and the disappointment was palpable as they just couldn't prove that he didn't have both feet out of the box before he got the puck. Just such homerism. Tonight do we get Beyak doing the play by play? I expect another tough game as Ottawa plays a lot like Montreal. -
That Bush, what a war-monger. What's that now? Bush hasn't been president since 2008? Well who's in charge now? Obama?! But but we can't say anything bad about him, that's just not acceptable. This must be someone else's fault. Like Bush for instance. Aw...that feels better. Yes, somehow when Doctors without Borders is speaking, they always find a way to fit in a shot at the Israelis. The US and Israel, the only two nations on earth that ever mistakenly bomb people. No one else ever does. So weird.
