  1. When it comes to feet on the beach.... Yup.
  2. FTR: I'm not Tom Burgess and I don't even wear sandals let alone socks and sandals.
  3. I don't see anything negative about the post that you agree with, yet there you go again complaining about negative posting for complaining sake. I'm .
  4. It's funny around here: Riders sign one of the best receivers in the league... Everyone else passed on him. Bombers sign a FA... He chose us because he wanted to be here and he signed for less money than other team(s) offered. Other teams sign a FA that we might have wanted... They overpaid for an overrated player.
  5. Idiots who follow idiots are as hopeless as the idiots they follow. Stafford is his own man. He made his choice to follow Carter, if that's even what happened. Funny how Stafford is a 'lost soul' while Carter is 'hopeless'. I'll bet it would be the other way around if we signed Carter and Regina signed Stafford. OShea, a man of great wisdom? Really? LOL and a HAHA to that. WBBFan... I picked Trump as an example because he was the first guy I thought of when I thought of a head idiot we could all agree on, not to start a political discussion. I didn't say that folks who voted for him believed everything he stands for and that's not the point anyway. I said they were as much if not more to blame for Trump (the head idiot) getting the presidency.
  6. IMO there very little if any difference between being the head idiot and following the head idiot. It's like being Trump vs voting him in, both are equally responsible. (NO, I AM NOT A RIDERS FAN)
  7. I think you'd say exactly the same thing if we'd signed Carter instead of Stafford.
  8. Kenny Stafford was fired the same day as Carter for the same reasons. We took a chance on Stafford. Regina will take a chance on Carter and I suspect the contract would already be signed if there wasn't any other teams who are interested. We certainly got Stafford for less money, but Carter is obviously the better player. In short.... teams will take a chance on talented players with a bad attitude if they think those players will help their team.
  9. I've used it a couple of times, but I'd rather just watch the game then read a thread after the fact.
  10. Hurl, Harris and Keeping can go. Probably only looking to keep 1 of Denmark, Gurley and McDuffie (My choice to keep). The rest should be offered 'Right Priced' contracts.
  11. The Durant trade is about getting something for a QB that Regina wasn't going to sign anyway. It's about removing all doubt that Durant is going to be 'the guy' to turn Regina around. In Montreal it's about getting a vet QB to go with the youngsters. I doubt that it helps or hurts Nichols as Regina wasn't in the cards anyway and Montreal wanted a vet QB not a guy with a year as a starter under his belt.
  12. They've got less SMS room this year than they've had for a while. In 2016 they used the entire 2016 SMS + Whatever they spent on extensions at the end of 2015 + Whatever they had to move the 2017 SMS in Medlock and Bryant's renegotiated contracts. This year, they have the 2017 SMS - the money moved into the 2017 budget for Medlock and Bryant.
  13. Bombers release Kevin Glenn - http://www.bluebombers.com/2017/01/06/bombers-release-kevin-glenn/
  14. Stamps - Entire coaching staff, Law, Hughes, Maver. Paredes. Lions - Entire coaching staff, Elimimian, Jeremiah Johnson. Redblacks - Entire coaching staff, Pruneau. Edmonton - White
  15. Merry Xmas! Hope everyone had a great day.
  16. Assuming what you are saying is true... I'd guess that the CFL contract would't be released until/unless an NFL contract offer was made.
  17. Nichols is a middle of the pack QB asking for elite money. If he really did turn down a $400K offer, he's overvaluing himself as I doubt any other team in the league will go over $400K for Nichols.
  18. Not true. It's been widely reported that BC has a clause in some players contracts that they are allowed to try out for NFL teams from early Dec to mid-Jan. If they don't get a contract, then they remain BC property. If BC does it and it passed through the league offices, then you can bet other teams do too.
  19. For what it's worth, I think he's worth 350-375K and I'd rather see low base/high bonuses. I don't think they are close to signing him yet. When asked at the '3 year extension' presser, Walters waited about 5 seconds before answering the question... "Are you confident that Nichols will be back next year".
  20. It's not just the Willy trade. The Als traded their first round pick for Vernon Adams. I guess you could say that was a bad trade too, but it does help to set the trade value for young QB's. I'd give up our first overall for Collaros or Harris (Ottawa and Hamilton wouldn't likely go for it tho) and let them fight it out with Nichols or Durant for the starting spot. Our starting NI's are strong enough to allow us to go for a QB upgrade and having a second first round pick means losing the first overall wouldn't hurt us that much. It's not like it was a few years ago when we had to expect our top 2 draft picks to start in their rookie years.
  21. A first round draft pick is the minimum any team has to pay for a QB with starting experience. Toronto gave up the #1 pick and more for Drew Freakin' Willy for gods sake. Saying you wouldn't give up the #1 pick for any QB other than BLM is the same as saying you'd never trade for another teams QB.
  22. No real reason? How about losing? We had 3 winning seasons in the last 10. I'll give you Berry, but did really want more years under PLAP, Kelly or Burke?
  23. It's apparently in his contract that he can try out for NFL teams between now and Jan 27. If he makes it, he's released. If not, his contract continues with BC. http://theprovince.com/sports/football/cfl/bc-lions/adam-bighill-chasing-nfl-work-but-has-to-sign-by-jan-27-or-returns-to-b-c-lions
  24. Too many years for me, especially for O'Shea, but at least it's done and we can move on. I hope everyone around here is right about O'Shea and that this year is what we can expect going forward. If the first 2 years are the real normal, the 3 year contract will be very expensive indeed.
