  1. Bolded part is pretty much true. but it isn't because of his "hard-line" negotiating. It's because he's seen as a tool who thinks his s#@t doesn't stink. As to the other bit about you and Mike thinking the Bombers are strong everywhere except QB (i guess a long offseason makes painful memories easy to forget), i disagree vehemently... but won't bother getting into it since starting in a few days one or the other of us will have our case made for us.
  2. not sure why "recycling" has such a negative rap with some folks... we have quite a few starters who were standouts for us, but were picked up for little/nothing as their former teams weren't interested in them anymore. just because a team cuts you, it doesn't mean you can't play... sometimes it does, but many times it's because the player didn't fit or the team was going with another option for any number of reasons. guys like Hefney and Huntley will have nice years.
  3. for now, i agree. but defences and offences kinda go in cycles... and when defences adapt to what Milanovich/Brady/Ray are doing, something else will eventually become the flavour of the month.
  4. 2 days until the live ammo starts flying!

  5. exactly. i learned this last year: winning is fun, but winning in spite of the haters is even better.
  6. no... iso is right. nobody likes Mack. any CFL media i know say so, and the football operations people i know (from several teams) say so. the guy isn't going to win the Mr. Congeniality trophy any time soon... so as iso says: he's got to win for the sake of justifying his tenure these last 3+ years... or else it will be written into history that everyone else was right all along.
  7. Not surprising at all. If big Kev is healthy and his shoulder holds together, he'll be a force on that line, a leader in the locker room and a favourite with Stamps fans. Good for them (and him).
  8. nah... "Hey bluto!" threads were a bit of a tradition on the former Bomber site... it's been a month here so it was about time.
  9. very true. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" or "You don't know what you've got till you lose it all again (listen to the mandolin rain)".
  10. gosh he was good. defenders would only catch a glimpse of him behind the O-Line, then when they shed their block he was already somewhere else and they never saw him go...
  11. you think Calgary will give up 200 yards to Harris?
  12. we just released one of each that didn't fit our roster but both can play in this league.
  13. atta boy JPan!
  14. interesting thread... i dunno if these guys can rush the ball or not...
  15. you figure Buck will be available to play against us in week 4? interesting...
  16. We should get the Winner-picker pool going too... who's running this thing?
  17. you have an ego? we hadn't noticed... but srsly... i had quoted KBF when i was addressing him (or attempting to)
  18. ah-ha! that time, i was the one not being clear... i was talking to KBF... pretty sure he's a Dave too... (i wouldn't bother asking why you, 17, don't like Kackert... it's obviously because he works in Southern Ontario
  19. thanks Emory. that picture of Bowman attempting to remove Pierce's head from his shoulders at 1:01 may be prophetic
  20. everyone is entitled to a preference. truth is, Kackert's size makes me nervous as i'm just not going to be convinced of his ability to stay in one piece for a season until i see it. that's an issue for all RBs... but i always worry more about the more diminutive ones. fair play to Kack though: he's pretty much perfect for Milanovich's offence and likely to have big numbers again. do i infer that you aren't a fan, Dave? or is it just that you don't like his size/style? or just by comparison to Simpson?
  21. i did notice. i reckoned you meant ahead of him on the TSN list (the topic at hand). fair enough if you meant in yardage, that was unclear.
  22. football is a fun game but a sh!77y business
  23. starts? 11 finishes? 9
  24. Riggs Jr is 30, but he's a low-mileage RB. also a great team-guy (he sat on our PR for 2 years and waited for his shot without complaining)
