  1. Can't see the need for Sheets here. MAYBE he can carve out a role as a change of pace back. He's got reliable enough hands, but he isn't different enough from Cotton to warrant it here. It's not like he's a Stef Logan type who extended his career by becoming a complimentary back.
  2. ... you'll have one on the practice roster. So easily two on the roster at any given time. If not three. And Cotton isn't going anywhere.
  3. I think we could handle the Moose for a year or so, but not much longer. Great timing though, because the influx of talent coming through the affiliate (wherever it is) is going to be insane. Morrissey, Armia, Petan, Copp, Hellebuyck, Comrie, Glover, de Leo, etc etc
  4. Brett Connolly broke his hand today in practice too
  5. Bombers should sign Swordless Mimetown
  6. Classic Winnipeg construction.
  7. In a one for one swap, there isn't a single player that isn't tradeable for Connor McDavid on the Jets roster. That's not opinion. It's just fact. There are maybe (MAYBE!) ten players in the entire league that wouldn't get traded straight up for McDavid. Saying you wouldn't trade Blake Wheeler for Connor McDavid is like saying you wouldn't have traded Miroslav Satan for Sidney Crosby way back when.
  8. Any rugby fans out there? Always wanted to develop an interest in it, don't really know where to start. TV channels I can watch it on? Streams online? When are the games live? What league should I watch? What am I even watching? School me.
  9. The next few years will be interesting in Saskatchewan. They haven't positioned themselves very well.
  10. To whoever said they'd like Garbutt on the Jets - no thanks. I don't care if he's a local boy, he's one of the biggest dickrags in the NHL.
  11. Always thought Klingberg was horrible. This deal is essentially a free Stempniak for me, and I love it. Chevy took advantage of NYR making that Yandle deal and found a way to allow it to benefit us. Awesome.
  12. Nobody is untradeable, but the three toughest guys to part with for me would be Trouba, Ehlers and Byfuglien. For the first overall pick in this year's draft? I'd trade anyone.
  13. Meh, still could see him by September.
  14. Didn't notice Maxx Forde was on the list now. Must have skipped over that the first time. That's a huge addition to the draft class. I'm not going to say he's a lock for top 10 at this point because there's a ton of talent, but he's up there. Alondra Johnson's kid is a LB for the University of South Dakota, he'll probably get a combine invite too because he just got approved for Canadian status.
  15. All the talk about us using the 15 on Ackie as a LB potentially, but I think that connection puts Shortill high up on our board
  16. I really have to say it's such a shame that Desjardins is such a putz because Ottawa's group of scouts keeps bringing in pretty legitimate prospects. I like Johnson as a CFL QB and Harper is just an overall interesting athlete. DE/TE in college. LB in NFL.
  17. Guys I'd look out for at the regionals ... Edmonton - DB Apperley, LB Kankolongo, OL Picton, OL Lawlor, DB Janke Montreal - REC Davidson, DB Girard Toronto - RB Rea (really curious to see where they end up putting him), REC English, K Ferraro and I'm sure a couple of the other DB/REC types that test well will receive invites.
  18. If we sign him. Which I hope we do.
  19. Considering what the Pens just paid for Winnik I like this.
  20. Good for Hopkins - one of my favorite players in the CFL
  21. Technically Nixon didn't finish the year on the PR in Calgary, he was cut after the Winnipeg game. I'm curious though. I thought he was a good prospect when he signed with Toronto.
  22. You and Aards are really carrying around a bad case of the jinx today. At BB.com, Aards told us we should watch out for Pall now that he has real coaching...CUT. Now you with Jackson. On behalf of all current Bombers under contract, I will please ask you not to mention any more names today, lol MAN WE SHOULD REALLY LOOK OUT FOR THAT EJ KUALE
  23. So after I throw his name out there as a guy I thought was pretty good, the Bombers cut Jerrell Jackson. lol
  24. Exactly. Walters offers $150k. Desjardins probably counters at $350k.Aside from reading Rider forum's why do people have this impression of Desjardins? The Bomber's won 5 free agent auctions, did they pay too much? After all they beat Ottawa all 5 times. Taman has the highest paid Canadian receiver by a mile, Popp has highest paid receiver and Wally is paying huge for a pair of LB's yet Desjardins is the only GM ruining the league with out of this world contracts? I don't get it. Can't say for sure as there's no evidence that Desjardins was after any of the players that the Bombers signed. Ottawa signed SirVincent Rogers before the Bombers signed Bryant so it looks like he was their priority for Import O-lineman. Some comments from Walters suggested that this was also the Bombers grading of the two. Anyone know what $$ Rogers signed for? Heard Rogers got $140k per season. Bryant got $160k. Rogers was seen as more attractive if the two because of perceived value. In my opinion Walters ended up getting amazing value from Bryant. I honestly wouldn't of complained if we paid 200K for Bryant. Yeah totally agreed.
  25. If Darvin Adams was a recruit straight out of college, he'd be the best one we have on paper BY FAR. So I'm curious to see what he brings here.
